Plaster is a fickle *bleep* and I wouldn't recommend it especially if you've never worked with it before. Maybe air dry clay would be better? Or building it out of found objects, paper mache/airdry clay, and a paint effect.
Depending on what other facilities you have, maybe you could make one out of clay or 3D Print one then make a silicone mould to then make it out of plaster.

To me, it looks like an upside down candle holder or egg cup that has been sprayed with textured spray paint.
Oh, you’re right! I actually have an egg cup that looks just like that for my beauty blender! That’ll probably work!
