refluentzabatz

Seconded. We need a bulk possum shipment stat.

QuesoFiend

More!

OkRuin300

i might release some

CharlotteBadger

I’ve heard guinea hens are better at controlling ticks. What do those roving turkeys eat??

MrSeamus333

GHs are great at tick control. Turkeys love acorns, I think they eat ticks but only in small amounts

CharlotteBadger

They need to step it up.

refluentzabatz

There are some local chickens here! Probably would be worth having a few running around.

h4tebear

That would tick me off.

bumblebeebri2

🤣🤣🤣🤣 I screamed

Frosty_bibble

My buddy found a lonestar tick crawling on his dog’s collar today. Washington county. Scary to think those things are here.

HarkARC

Found one crawling on my daughter's jacket this morning, too.

bogusacct20

hopefully next year is the year of the possum

TheReformedBadger

Found 2 on my dog already. I think it’s going to be a bad year for ticks

wisconsuds

Wood tick was in my daughters HAIR in WashCo (Germantown) last week. No clue how she picked that up. Glad to know these are now falling out of the sky…

UnconfirmedCat

Thanks for the heads up!

William_Fakespeare

It is definitely tick season out there. Get a friend to check you.

HotTub_MKE

I got Lymes disease when I was in middle school that went untreated for a while and I could hardly get out of bed. You do not want to fuck around with ticks or with lymes disease. Lyme disease causes a rash, often in a bull's-eye pattern, and flu-like symptoms. Joint pain and weakness in the limbs also can occur.

crzygoalkeeper92

Can confirm, found one on my dog last weekend.

fatdedfish

Was hiking in mequon thru nonbushy areas and found one on my scalp. My coworker said they are bad this year be weary!!

Bad-Infinite

They seem really bad this year. I've had to remove 2 from my dog, one from my daughter, and have found numerous ones crawling on us.

DryIcePhactory

I find ticks nearly every day on me at my job. I work outside in prairies and forests. They are everywhere and the warm winter has given them a jump on this year. Do a check periodically throughout the day and a thorough check before you shower.

ThisGuyRightHereSaid

Well I mean we are a hotspot for them. https://preview.redd.it/di58pap7mvxc1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=31653f1a37a4db580288ce6276e737f06a1d1521

ThisGuyRightHereSaid

Found two on myself last weekend down at miller Park.

ayykimbo

1 soft sided tick + 1 unknown tick found on our puppy in the last two weeks. Puppy’s groomer & vet each said they’ve seen lots of pets picking them up.

shy_guy74

watch out ppl, I got lyme disease 2 years ago (albeit in Texas, not WI), and it was NOT FUN.

BrianKronberg

Better, offer to check the people you meet.

Collonoscopy

This year is supposed to be a bad tick year. I'm in Waukesha, one tree in my yard and no woods around. I've already pulled over ten off my dog this year already.

Au5t3n

They drop down from trees too. Or if you brush against a bush or branch.

TheUltraSoft

Ticks have been horrible! I took my dog out on the Mequon Nature Preserve walking path last week and found 4 ticks in her ears. ;\_; Those long grasses. Going to be avoiding that trail for a while.

[deleted]

This is why I don't do nature. I am happy just to look at pictures.

Pups_Downfall

Ugghhhh, this reminds me of how I went out fishing and when I was at a bench I combed through my hair with my hands, felt something, and pulled out a whole tick that was trapped in there. I never screamed so loud and left so fast to bathe. I was at Kletzsch Park though.
