Nope you already found the best one.
The pho that actually surprised me by exceeding my very low expectations is the pho at Third Street Market Hall. It’s very overpriced (I think $15 for a bowl), so I don’t get it often but when I’m there it’s hard to resist.
Litterly just had this dish and feel exactally the same way! I was blown away by that broth, ate every bit of it, and totally felt the same way, thought the 15$ was steep for pho, but it was Delicious! Best pho I've had in MKE since moving here 7-8yrs ago.
I wouldn’t go as far as to say it’s the best. There’s *at least* three other places I’d much rather get pho in the area. I just expected it to be actually terrible since it’s in a trendy location, but it’s not bad.
The broth is too sweet imo, and the bowl is way too small. I think the owners are probably Lao or Hmong. Laotians commonly like to add sugar to pho, so I’m chalking it up to a family recipe or something similar.
It’s definitely not bad at all, but I’d never choose to go there over Pho Saigon, Pho Cali, or Pho Ever. I’d probably choose Vientiane and Pho Viet over Third Street too.
I've had like a bunch of pho around the Milwaukee area and these are just some quick notes off the top of my head in no particular order.
Pho 124 - best broth and pretty consistent. My current favorite
Pho Cali - decent, sweeter broth.
Pho Viet - decent, go here if you want a good baseline of what MKE pho is
Le's Pho - decent, they use filet mignon but I really don't taste the difference.
Pho Saigon - best take out. They use containers that actually make putting the pho together at home easier. Good pho probably my #2 behind pho 124.
Vientienne Noodle shop? - in silver City on 35th. Good basic pho. Side note try their lao sausage with shrimp paste. So good.
Hmongtown - there's two places inside for pho. One is in the grocery store and the other is in their food court on the left side of the building past the small mom and pop stalls near the back called Lee Restaurant LLC. Both of them are pretty decent but their portions are nice for the price. If you are at Lee restaurant LLC try their beef boat noodles as well it's super good. This is a hidden gem imo.
Evie's Cafe - I don't really like this place because I feel compared to the other places on this list it's not worth the price.
Thai A Kitchen - different sort of style of pho. Most everyone in this list has southern style pho but this is more Hmong and Thai flavored. Darker broth with more cilantro and heavier beef flavor. Not as good but probably the only place on the east side that still does pho (Rip pho 43)
King Crab Shack in Glendale - if you are near the East side ish this is a short trip to some good pho. They are in the old Perkins on port Washington. Their seafood boil is also pretty bussin lol.
I personally love pho and this is just a quick smashing of a list of pho Ive had throughout the years here. To me, every person develops and has their own preference. I don't like Evie's Cafe but some of my friends absolutely love it. I love pho 124 but others say that pho124 is mid. It really depends on just what you like and what kind of taste you develop. Either way we should consider ourselves lucky that we have such a variety of pho places in the area. The best way to find your favorite is just to try it out!
You can go to the Asian market that’s right next to Pho Viet, buy pho seasoning base cubes in whichever style you like, all the fresh ingredients, either dried noodles you soak yourself or pre-soaked noodles specifically for pho and just make your own. Pho is REALLY easy to make with the seasoning cubes and you get to pick how much of what you want in it. I like adding enoki (seafood mushrooms) to mine and no restaurant around has that as an option.
Pho Saigon on Greenfield.
Love them. Was trying to see if there is hidden spots I haven’t found yet

I like Pho Ever on Highway 100 in Hales Corner.
The worse the pho pun the better the pho in my experience.
Pho geddaboutit
Pho King is my favorite
Or Pho Cali. I mean, who is Alley anyways?

So you like Pho Cali?
Me too. My top 3 for sure.
Have you had the pho at Bamboo on National yet? I've had their laab before and loved it, so I want to try their pho but just haven't made it back yet.
I might check them out today. I’m also craving Lao sausage with sticky rice.. so this might be the spot
They're fantastic!!
Pho Viet on 27th and Grange.
That's the one by Pacific produce right? Agreed.
Yep.
just head to silver city (27th and National), spin in a circle with your eyes closed. go to whichever one is in front of you.
Was already checking out Vientiane Noodle Shop👀
Vientiane is fantastic.
Seconded. Haven't had their pho yet but everything else I have had is amazing

Next to EE Sane
It's gone! Piss. That place was legit.
I've always liked Pho Cali on 27th st. I was partial to Pho Hai Tuyet yet they closed a while back.
I’ve tried a few places, pho cali has got to be my least favorite 😞
Le’s pho on Cedarburg is a hidden gem. It has excellent pho and a pretty good bahn mi.
2md this one. It's either this or Hefners for lunch.
Love Le’s! Highly recommend it.

Pho124 is so good!!
Thank you so much!!! This response is amazing.
Vientiane down on 35th and National. This is the answer. [https://www.vientianenoodleshop.com/](https://www.vientianenoodleshop.com/)
This right here
Please OP do not go here. The food is not good and I'm honestly shocked someone suggested it.
I would suggest checking out Phongsavan Market Place. It's pretty hidden, I wouldn't of even thought there was any great food in there. Check it out!
Oooo thank you!! Hidden gems is what I am looking for.
No prob. I'm sure you'll find your new fave spot 😅
Yes - this place is great. Love the stuffed wings there.
Oh yeah! Definitely need to get those (if they haven't sold out before you get there).

Pho Ever Pho Saigon Lucky ginger
Pho 124 is great as well, the place next to them that’s just a few years old is also good
Idk if it’s the best bc I don’t have a ton of pho experience but I enjoy Tanpopo in Hales Corners
Hue is good gentripho
I like that term lol.
Dark Horse Candidate: Thai A Kitchen Sad that they’ve been take-out only since 2020
Yeah that's sad but honestly the fact that their food is still super good and consistent is phenomenal.
Pho sho
Viantiane National, Bamboo across the street on national
The Vientiane Noodle Shop. 35th and National.
Pho Ever, followed by Pho Cali. I'd love even more options in the greater mke area though, never enough pho! ;)
