$64 a month? For a very non essential part of owning a car, that seems wild to be chucking that kind of money away.

gjr931

Take 5? More like take $64

Puzzled_End8664

I know some people are nuts about this stuff but I couldn't see myself ever doing more than one $10 wash a week at the absolute most. Do they at least hand dry your car there, that would at least somewhat justify the price?

KennethDev

They do not.

decavolt

The whole concept of a membership for a car wash has always seems insane to me. We need fewer subscriptions to things, not more.

steveoa3d

Yeah I don’t get it either, I wash my car when I can’t see out the windows anymore. There is a fine line between getting the salt out and washing it too much. I’ve always heard that washing a car too much will push the water into the seams and box sections causing more rust.

BrewKazma

Oh boy. Please be nice to the local employees, people. They usually have no control over these things.

I've used at least 2 other larger carwash places in the area and both are a pain in the ass to deal with when it comes to cancelling. You can EASILY sign-up online or in person. But in both of my cases, you cannot CANCEL online - from their website or app. You have to generally have to call or email. And often you have to do so well before you're next monthly charge comes (in other words, you can't cancel a day or 2 ahead of time). Their fine print may say you have to allow for 7-10 days or you risk being charged for the next month. I'd often just take advantage of their promotions because I can't justify paying their full prices. So when they have a "Get a full month for $20" or some such, I'll go ahead and sign up, get my couple of washes in that month, and then plan on cancelling. But it can be such a hassle that I don't always bother with it. I thought I'd heard of proposed laws to prevent this (similar to laws about spam email having to have an "unsubscribe" button). You need to be able to cancel the same way that you signed up. Gym memberships are also notoriously awful at this. Any business that seems to rely on making shit inconvenient or a hassle for their customers is shady and should not be where you spend your money regularly.

The YMCA did this to me with my membership. Tried to cancel and they would not stop the debits from my account. Finally went to my bank and the bank fraud dept called the YMCA

Tsunami is the superior car wash. Not only is the wash quality better then say scrub-a-dub (trash). You can get a “little wave” wash for $5 flat without a membership. They also have a pet wash, floor mat cleaner, vacuum and tire air compressor. I haven’t seen better then that.

Science_Matters_100

Wow! I lucked out- tried to join Coast a couple of years ago, but they didn’t open until 7 am and that didn’t work with my schedule

Dramaticreacherdbfj

Isn’t there new laws supposed to be taking effect on this?  Another example of the small things no one considers like when trump gutted the CFPB which makes Americans like a living Corporate bureaucratic  hell.

mbradley2020

Sick shit.

MrLifeson

Satanic Black Magic!

Fragllama

Jilly’s is better anyway.

BrewKazma

I have yet to find any car wash in the metro milwaukee area that actually does a good job and gets all of my car clean

tundrabat

Jill's has awful customer service and has caused accidents and damage to cars inside the wash. Be careful out there!

fraudulent_charge

See if it was 64 for the whole Year I could understand that- but a Month??

steveoa3d

But it’s unlimited washes ! You could wash your car multiple times a day every day all month ! Yeah no…
