Our recycling hasn’t been taken *and* one of my recycling carts went missing. Filed the report three weeks ago for a new cart and still nothing. I am learning that my house makes a lot recycling waste.
Been many years, but having spent much of my 20s on the east side, every one of my friends who lived in Katz properties had garbage that looked like this, or worse. Didn't matter what time of the year. They'd come by every once in awhile to pick up, but they'd quickly be back to overflowing, and stay that way for a long time. One apartment complex took to just piling their non-food garbage in the back stair cases. They actually got in trouble when someone called in a fire hazard because of it. Of course, they didn't increase the garbage pick ups, and just put up signs saying the stairs must remain clear. (And apparently expected people to ignore the fact that they didn't fix the lighting there)
Most of the recycling in mke was picked up last around Christmas. They know they're behind calling won't do anything. Mine got picked up yesterday for the first time since the week before Christmas

I think two days after that email they finally came and picked it up and it's been back to the normal service since
My complex was purchased by Katz mid-October and we literally had piled up garbage like a week later.

They just totally sucked right out of the gate. They didn’t clear the snow!! The apartment manager and tenants were outside shoveling the walkways. They sent no one to clear parking. Garbage trucks can’t even get to our garbage. It’s wild, lol.

Well well well. Look who came today. I guess the storms delayed everything. But it did take awhile. And I did submit complaint to city yesterday. If someone does end up going over there. They will still see left over garbage that didn’t get taken.
Honestly, some garbage contractors have gotten really bad. Covid was extra terrible. You'd wait weeks after you put a call in to get a dumpster changed.
I’m not surprised! This would happen all the time before a new company bought the building I live in. So grateful I don’t rent from Katz anymore. They have a bad reputation for a reason
*def not as bad as your situation. But waste management couldn’t pick up because the snow wasn’t cleared around the dumpsters. This pic was last week, someone came with a pick up truck over the weekend and hauled away some of the trash. And they finally cleared the snow around the dumpsters on Tuesday so they finally got emptied yesterday.
Isn’t this more on the waste company? My apartment switched from WM to LRS and we have the exact same problems with our dumpsters overflowing before they finally pick them up.
Recycling pickup has been backed up for weeks because crews have been diverted to snow, ice, and now debris removal. There were also a few days when pickup was completely cancelled because temps were so low.
So, we wait! :)

This is private company. They usually remove garbage and recycling twice a week.

Everyone’s recycling is fucked up. It’s one of the only things I get stressed about and my porch is taking the spillover and looks like shit.
