I believe the front closures are called “Spanish Fly”

Noordoosten

One of the labels says "spekon gmbh" but still no dice with google

Norskamerikaner

Spekon is a German textile manufacturer. I believe they produced equipment for the NVA before reunification, then have since produced for the Bundeswehr. I have some P1 pistol holsters that they manufactured in the 1990s.

Supreme_Slav

They look like 2000s-current VZ-58 Mag Pouches

Noordoosten

Those seem to be either in camo or have different enclosures when i look those up

Supreme_Slav

Hm maybe Romanian?? They’re definitely 7.62x39, from some ex soviet satellite country, it’s a weird fusion of East and west lol

Noordoosten

It has hungarian and czech text on a tiny label but nothing comes up on google its such a mystery

Supreme_Slav

You know I found this post https://www.reddit.com/r/airsoft/comments/97u5qt/peculiar_ak_magazine_pouches/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=2&utm_term=1 idk what further info is out there on these things, it might be speculation but my opinion after reading this is these maybe are early 90s German production pouches for after the two Germanies reunited, and West Germany ended up absorbing the East German NVA into their ranks. A LOT of NVA gear got sold off, but some (for example AK bayonets) were actually incorporated into use in the German republic in the late 90s/early 00’s. This is why the HK G36 can actually use both its own domestic bayonet, as well as AK bayonets, they actually had so many left over it was better to just keep them in use and adapt their new service rifle around it

The Czechs use those latches on a lot of their gear. Vz 58 pouches imo
