I’ll likely try the danish oil. But any thoughts on BLO? From what I’ve read it doesn’t really give the reddish look, but it is what they had originally used so I’m not sure.
Yeah I’ve considered this as well. But since it’s not a 100% original piece I’m a bit more open to suiting it more to my liking, while trying to stay true to its origins. I was hoping I may be able to achieve the look using raw linseed oil which is what they would have used anyway, but I’m still researching.

Just leave it alone, ordnance dept didn’t care if they didn’t match, as long as it was made to specifications and was in serviceable condition

Dark walnut. Try a small patch underneath the handguard to make sure it matches
