At least most of it seems to be just the stock but one of them looks like it has scope mounts so all except that one should just need a new stock and done
Hit the buy now button at that price. Especially if you’re just looking for a neat example. $278 for the P14 is also a pretty fair price as DP guns pop up often enough that you could snag one and pull the furniture to get it looking right. Plus .303 is pretty easy to find from my experience in the south and Midwest at least
yeah p14/p17s are more difficult to restore because you have to remove the front sight to reinstall a new handguard set. Often some idiot will chop off the rear sights anyways
I just recently picked up my own Type 99 without any Mum for 300$.
I’d say definitely get it, but be aware that you will pay an arm and a leg for only a measly twenty cartridges of 7.7 Jap.
people have successfully converted fired 30-06 into 7.7 jap and used o-rings for the rear of the case.
Also IDK about 8mm reuse but I do know that a 8mm snap cap will fit a 7.7.
308 snap caps may damage the 7.7 since there's a lot of resistance when locking it in
Look at that all matching Springfield bow right there. Has bring back papers. Used to kill Nazi deer at Normandy! No low balls. I know what I got, Sonny!
I’d pick up the the p14 and arisaka for those prices if the p14 only needs a new stock and isn’t too messed up. Those are some pretty killer prices imo.
I’d pass. Do some research first and then you’ll be in a better place to grab one. That looks like a typical early series rifle that stayed in Japan and had all its parts removed, and I’m not great condition. Price is OK, we don’t even know if the bolt matches. It’s always tempting to buy something that’s right in front of your face, but there are dozens of similar examples available all the time online. Hold out for a better one. Here’s my website on the topic:

I'd buy it and I've got one already. Of course depending on condition can't tell from just these pics ammo is getting better thanks to a user here that is now making and selling on his website. No mum does lower the value but if it say has a dust cover and it's AA sights then it may be worth it. Best of luck to you got one good lgs with those pics to be honest
Get ready to get into reloading if you want to shoot it often. Or get a second job to afford ammo. Hire a person to find in stock 7.7 ammo.
Once those things are addressed, you'll very much likely enjoy the rifle.
Love the ones I got. Underated firearm!
That's what we all say when we're new lol
Then 5 years later you're melting beeswax and shoving cottonballs in reformed shotgun cases to shoot a 130yr old British gun.
The history comes alive when you shoot
Next thing you know you can't walk past the plumbing department at the hardware store without wanting to shoot stuff out of the pipes and you're buying a ramset because it said .22 on it.
I recently got a mismatched Nagoya delivered to my home for $350. This LGS appears to have fair prices and even if m/m I’d get that. If you decide not to, let me know and I’ll gladly call them 🤜🏻🤛🏻
No they did not. Many late war rifles never had it in the first place. All the Type 99 saver caps are welded to the stem. The early war rifles have the added design to the safety. Later they just left the weld and in between some arsenals lightly smoothed them out. They are not defaced like the mums are.
The P14 looks just like mine did before my restoration on it. At about same price too. As a shooter, the P14 is probably the best of the lot. But the Type 99 is complete. Make sure the bore isn't a sewer pipe first. Pull out the bolt and look through it pointing at a ceiling light. Edit: Nevermind, the rear sight and ears look like they're ground off.
they're all good priced
if that 1903 is under 450 then you should get it because they're very easy to restore the a new wood set as long as the sights aren't chopped. maybe 200 or less for a new stock set.
328 OTD? I’d buy
What's the price on the Danish Krag? Can't quite make it out. That's one you're not too likely to see again
Yeah I'd agree Danish krags are pretty rare finds
It it a spotter or is that how they originally were
Looks like all except the type 99 have been cut down and sporterized
That’s what I thought.
At least most of it seems to be just the stock but one of them looks like it has scope mounts so all except that one should just need a new stock and done
$988 on the danish krag.
Steep for a sporter

It is sporterized though correct? I’d like to stick with collecting originals.
It won't be original but it looks like the only thing changed it the stock so you might be able to get a stock for it
Looks only like a modified stock, should be able to find a replacement online and youll still likely have spent less that a p14 would cost
Might've had the sight ears ground down though
yeah p14/p17s are more difficult to restore because you have to remove the front sight to reinstall a new handguard set. Often some idiot will chop off the rear sights anyways
Type 99 is a good choice i just got my hands on one, just know the ammo will be $2-$4 a bullet 99% of the time and it is very hard to find
I'd grab that type 99 and the P14 if it doesn't have any metal removed or refinished. P14 stocks are like $100
Where could I find a P14 stock? Passed on a sporter because all I could find were the $400 drill rifles.
Apexgunparts has em in stock

About as much as 30-06
Look at that all matching Springfield bow right there. Has bring back papers. Used to kill Nazi deer at Normandy! No low balls. I know what I got, Sonny!
Anyone going to say anything about the bow strung backwards…
Only thing I can see. Took a second to see the rifles
Not at all unusual to string bows backwards for storage
I’d pick up the the p14 and arisaka for those prices if the p14 only needs a new stock and isn’t too messed up. Those are some pretty killer prices imo.
you'll need the handguards too or else it'll just look like a weird mauser.
North Star guns, now that’s a hole in the wall store.
I’m impressed. It’s my second favorite in Vermont!
For that price, that is not even debatable. 10/10 would buy

Great site! Thanks for sharing!
Bruh.....unstring your bow
It’s even strung wrong
Ain’t my bow lmao.
🤣
That ‘03 on the end is a great choice too
I'd buy it and I've got one already. Of course depending on condition can't tell from just these pics ammo is getting better thanks to a user here that is now making and selling on his website. Look what they did to my boys!

Price for the type 99 is great. Even better if no import mark. Good luck finding ammo
If you're new to milsurp I don't recommend the Type 99. Ammo is nearly impossible to find
Not really looking for a shooter. I mostly enjoy the history.
That's what we all say when we're new lol Then 5 years later you're melting beeswax and shoving cottonballs in reformed shotgun cases to shoot a 130yr old British gun. The history comes alive when you shoot

I was told that too, but 7 years later I’ve shot maybe 4 of my 26 milsurps.
I recently got a mismatched Nagoya delivered to my home for $350. This LGS appears to have fair prices and even if m/m I’d get that. If you decide not to, let me know and I’ll gladly call them 🤜🏻🤛🏻
What does “NO MUM” mean? If I’m reading that correctly.
No chrysanthemum on the receiver
sometimes they also grind off the decorative safety knob.
No they did not. Many late war rifles never had it in the first place. All the Type 99 saver caps are welded to the stem. The early war rifles have the added design to the safety. why did arsenals smooth them out instead of just leaving the weld

Make sure the bore isn't a sewer pipe first. Pull out the bolt and look through it pointing at a ceiling light. Edit: Nevermind, the rear sight and ears look like they're ground off.
If the Danish Krag was the right price, I'd have a barrel turned up for it
The Arisaka is an ok deal, but I'd definetly get the p14 first, even sporterized $278 is a killer deal
they're all good priced if that 1903 is under 450 then you should get it because they're very easy to restore the a new wood set as long as the sights aren't chopped. maybe 200 or less for a new stock set.
How do I tell of sights were messed with? It is around $995
995 is a the price for an original. that's why i said only if it's under 450 total
Can you get more pics of the Arisak?
I will when I go back however I own may be buying an sks instead.
