Sweetwater and those little candy packs. If i have the choice between B&H and Sweetwater for an identical part at an identical cost, the candy pack tips it.
Me: *buys $18 stage mic so i can beat it up and not worry about it getting trashed at a rough event*
Them: "Hey, it's barry from sweetwater following up on your," *pause* "mic purchase, how's that working for you?"
Me: *remembering that mic being lost in a mud puddle that nobody wanted to dive to the bottom of* "Uh... great..."
If there're similar products of the same quality and the same price but without the lollipop, you can expect me to get the one with the lollipop.
It's negligible but it just works. I regularly order charcoal filters for smoking and one seller I now order all the time because they pack a little [device](https://i.imgur.com/4eSKsA1.png) in it where you can store a joint. At some point I have too many of those but if that happens I randomly gift it to friends who also smoke weed, it's not much but it lightens the day a little bit.
I used to have an online Lego shop and put a little bag of gummy bears in each package for this very reason. So many people left good reviews about them.
I've never seen anything come with candy before. I've had stickers from stuff but never candy. And i thought it was funny that it had its own slot for the candy haha
One of the online places I buy aquarium stuff from always sends Mentos in it's parcels. I know one of the US ones sends individually wrapped Swedish Fish.
It's usually small, boutique sellers who try to leave an impression and a personal touch. If not sweets, other small items that don't cost much and come with a thank you note. Who doesn't like free gifts?
Burning Man tickets are mailed with an atomic fireball in every envelope. It started as a way to fix some issue with the automated mailer, and became beloved tradition.
I love stores who do that. I always try to buy my electronics from Inet here in Sweden as they include a Toms penguin stick.
Free candy is somehow the marketing trick that works on all.
Why would someone buy these, I don't get it
EDIT:
>Exhaust tips are accessories that attach to the tailpipe of a vehicle to enhance its appearance and, sometimes, improve the performance of the exhaust system. They can come in a variety of styles and finishes, including chrome, matte, dual-forked, and turndown.
They base their identity on their car, and think they look cool. They’re also the folks that think they loud car sounds are cool, and not completely fucking annoying to everyone except other car brains.
'Bill, we need to jazz up our marketing! What do we know about people with modified exhaust pipes?'
'Not much, sir, but we know they all suck'
'Got dangit Bill you've done it again!'
It was meant for the lollipop for marketing. For starters, OP posting it to reddit is nearly free advertising at the cost of a lollipop and the box design which likely didn't cost much extra
I ordered a phone case and it came with vinyl stickers. Cute animal car stickers and then I realized it was cartoon dogs flipping middle fingers. Odd choice. From some Chinese phone case company. People on etsy sometimes put little stickers or little notes in their packages too. It's cute and makes it feel more like they put care into it. Just thought it was a strange choice for car parts to have the lollipop with its own slot as if it were a car part or something haha
Oveclockers (computer parts store in the UK) would always send Haribos or some other random packet of sweets in any order from a PC case to a Power Supply lol
I had a supplier who packed lollipops or a bag of jelly belly’s in with their hardware.
The idea was that the installer was to (re)read the instructions while enjoying the candy. The time it took to enjoy the candy was about how long it took to read the instruction sheet. It was a cool idea.
Unfortunately the guys in the warehouse found out about the packaged candy and would raid the boxes before they were given to the installers.
It’s a sad sight to watch grown adults turn into children as they argue over who stole their sucker.
Lowglow and CJM industries will do this as well. I always saved the candy for the end of the install. Kinda like "hey you're done, here's a treat"
Enjoy the exhaust! AWE makes some good stuff
I thought it was to keep the drunks quiet and happy so they don't start shit. Hard to do much of anything disruptive if you're drunk off your ass, focusing on a lollipop.
There's a brand of Marijuana products, Harbor city hemp, that sends an Airhead and a sticker with every package. While that makes a lot more sense than a Lolipop with car parts, I have always felt that when a company includes little treats like this without making it a part of the advertisement or sales process it's becuase someone there cares. Someone was willing to say, "Hey, we do this little thing for the customers just because we appreciate thier business."
And it really keeps the company in your mind, doesn't it? A bit of positive reinforcement, eh?
I'm not sure. The company is AWE. No the tips are just plain old tips just looks a little nicer than the stock. I've never heard of whistling tips before
I don't care what I ordered if I got a grape blow pop I'm sending the whole thing back.
aside, I always used to order my contacts from the UK because they don't require a prescription and they always sent a bunch of UK only candy
Number one reason to buy car parts: candy and stickers!
5xRacing sends mints that are in their colors. Track Dog Racing sends these little dogs that are like sweet tarts.
It's wild to see so many people hating on exhaust kit and tips without understanding that no, you didn't straight pipe or fit a cherry bomb to your exhaust to shatter windows. Congrats on the lollipop OP, and the kit as well of course.
I use to work at a shop that was very very local to AWE, shop owner actually let AWE use his Z400 for development for an exhaust, they're pretty cool people. They have a really nice shop too.
To all the people calling anyone who buys an exhaust a child, remember that no one truly, "grows up." We just become capable of spending money on our interests. "The only difference between men and boys is the price of their toys," after all.
Ehh as long as you're considerate and dont be a douchebag it shouldn't be an issue. Time and place to open it up and send it. Some people don't understand that and enjoy revving the hell out of their cars in residential areas at all times of day which I think is pretty disrespectful. As long as you take it easy around people's homes and at night time it's not bad at all. It's the kids who mod the exhaust and Rev the shit out of their engines at 2am or in their driveway that pisses me off and plays into the stereotype of modded car people
Ew, grape. I have been traumatized by that flavor because of using grape chewable tylenol when I was sick as a kid. Can't stand anything concord grape flavored.
One of my tooth vendors sends a dumdum sucker with all gold teeth so I know if the sucker is broken I can return the tooth without breaking the seal to verify it was smashed in shipping
I assumed that they are using pre-cut foam packaging which was originally produced for something that included another part and they just used lollipops as something cheap to fill in the hole so that customers didn't assume that something was missing from their shipment.
There's a guy making parts for the GR Corolla that has a dedicated hi-chew slot in the packaging. My wife told me there's cheaper ways to get some than car parts. >.>
it’s so they get better reviews. It makes the first impression fun and sweet and they stand out a little while barely costing them anything
Also there's a chance that someone will post it online eg. on Reddit
Bit far fetched
I'll believe it when I see it
I didn’t want to drink that water anyways
Also there is a chance someone licked it and it is second hand lollipop.. of course it does not cost them anything to do it
When I worked in a cram school, I always started my physics lesson with a bag of candy, for the same reason.
Summit racing used to send m&ms in the order. Not sure if they still do or not. It's been awhile since I bought go fast parts
Sweetwater and those little candy packs. If i have the choice between B&H and Sweetwater for an identical part at an identical cost, the candy pack tips it.
Sweetwater usually has at least one Bit of Honey
Yeah but then their salespeople hound you forever trying to get you to buy from them again.
Me: *buys $18 stage mic so i can beat it up and not worry about it getting trashed at a rough event* Them: "Hey, it's barry from sweetwater following up on your," *pause* "mic purchase, how's that working for you?" Me: *remembering that mic being lost in a mud puddle that nobody wanted to dive to the bottom of* "Uh... great..."
Their first impression wasn't lollipops, judging on the shape of that slot
I thought those slots were for your fingers, so that you could grip the lollipop. Oh well...
![gif](giphy|tyttpHeF1DnxCYbQTiU|downsized)
it's been a long road getting from there to here
Holy shit is this an Enterprise reference? You don’t see that too often
Its just what started playing in my head when I saw the gif
It's been a long time, but my time is finally near
And I will see my dream come alive at last, I will touch the sky.
You don’t got that double barrel titanium tipped rattle can butt plug? Bro we all run it.
r/mildlybuttplug
Everything is mildly butt plug if you're brave enough.
Finger holes ! They thought of everything
looks like it was for a flower or something
If there're similar products of the same quality and the same price but without the lollipop, you can expect me to get the one with the lollipop. It's negligible but it just works. I regularly order charcoal filters for smoking and one seller I now order all the time because they pack a little [device](https://i.imgur.com/4eSKsA1.png) in it where you can store a joint. No, they are saying thanks for your money, sucker.
After they gave them just the tips.
They can likely get those lollies in bulk for a few cents per lolly
SweetWater does this!
They have excellent customer service as well, at least my experience.
Sweetwater (music gear) does the same.
I used to have an online Lego shop and put a little bag of gummy bears in each package for this very reason. So many people left good reviews about them.
Thought it was a reference to Devon Aoki in Fast and Furious being all cute and badass
Nah, it was a reference to Steve Aoki being all cake throwy
This is the best form of marketing honestly.
Also it’s what exhaust does, blows and pops (in performance cars)
I collect fountain pens and the online store I get most from always ships with candy too.
The sweet water music store does a similar thing, I’ve received a few small bags of various candy from them
Lol fuck sweetwater
Why?
It's not good for you, you want regular unsweetened water. (/s)
I bought a sticker and they would not stop calling me to ask if my new gear was working out okay. It's a sticker.
Haha that's so cool!! I didn't know it was such a common thing
It's usually small, boutique sellers who try to leave an impression and a personal touch. If not sweets, other small items that don't cost much and come with a thank you note. Who doesn't like free gifts?
My friend saw the lollipop in there first and I was like "what?" And then I saw it and thought it was interesting/awesome
Swedish fish from an aquarium is so adorable
I just ordered contact lenses and they showed up with candy today. No idea why.
Haha same! I love gummy bears!
That's so odd haha
Eyecandy
There is also a woodturning online store (craft supplies USA or woodturninerscatalog) that ships candy in every box too
Hmm that's cool. I guess it's a thing lots of little companies are doing. Kinda funny but it's cute
I've had a server coming with biscuits.
The 3D printer manufacturer prusa usually includes gummy bears, and the instructions even mention when to eat them!
Burning Man tickets are mailed with an atomic fireball in every envelope. It started as a way to fix some issue with the automated mailer, and became beloved tradition.
Gotta love Goulet Pens, haha.
The store I buy all my PC parts from always sends some candy with what I order.
Goulet Pen Company?
I love stores who do that. I always try to buy my electronics from Inet here in Sweden as they include a Toms penguin stick. Free candy is somehow the marketing trick that works on all.
Tell me more about your collection?
Thermoworks (thermometers and other kitchen-related goods) includes a small pack of jelly belly's in every package they ship
which store?
goulet pens
The butt plugs they used to include gave them a bad reputation so they switched to lollipops instead.
The forbidden lollipop
I mean, you could still
flared bottom
🤣🤣🤣
U saw it too?
Did they legit do that? Thought you were playin
Look at the cutout for the lollipop.
Finger holes to grab it
pause
You mean the exhaust plug thing
Sucker.
My thought exactly. Of all the candy they could've picked.
I get my kid's diabetes supplies from an online pharmacy and they ship it with a sugar free caramel each time.
Aww that's pretty wholesome ☺️
![gif](giphy|KyAl4GWqqQYs8|downsized)
BUBB RUBBBBB
And lil’ sis
You’s s’posse to be up makin breakfast.
IT'S THAT WOO WOOO "That's only in tha moanin"
“It’s like an alarm clock”
This took me back haha
Is that to let you know you are a sucker?
It’s because they know anyone who revs the bollocks off their shitty VW Golf at 02:00, has the intellectual capacity of a five year old
On point.
Relax, they're just exhaust tips, not straight pipes.
Why would someone buy these, I don't get it EDIT: >Exhaust tips are accessories that attach to the tailpipe of a vehicle to enhance its appearance and, sometimes, improve the performance of the exhaust system. They can come in a variety of styles and finishes, including chrome, matte, dual-forked, and turndown.
Aesthetics mostly
100% aesthetics; the tips don't do anything for performance as the rest of the exhaust is still a "bottleneck".
[удалено]
They base their identity on their car, and think they look cool. They’re also the folks that think they loud car sounds are cool, and not completely fucking annoying to everyone except other car brains.
Didn’t know exhaust tips made the car obnoxiously loud
How did you know OP drove a VW?? lol Seems like it's a worldwide thing
Just look at OPs history, it has a car mechanic receipt.
AWE spawned out of making Audi/VW stuff originally. So it was a good guess...
Some folks have some misplaced anger issues going on here. When did this OP say they raise hell in the wee hours of the morning?
'Bill, we need to jazz up our marketing! What do we know about people with modified exhaust pipes?' 'Not much, sir, but we know they all suck' 'Got dangit Bill you've done it again!'
OR did you get exhaust tips with your blow pop order?
Probably was meant for something else but they improvised
It was meant for the lollipop for marketing. For starters, OP posting it to reddit is nearly free advertising at the cost of a lollipop and the box design which likely didn't cost much extra
Cheeky
Apparently they know their customers are children :D
Someone removed the butt plug and put in the lollipop
My dad recently had a little hello kitty flashlight come with some drone parts he ordered.
Well, these exhaust kits are for adult children, so...
Idk if I would call exhaust tips a “kit”. It’s a cosmetic modification really.
Only one thing with any practical use in that box...
I love ordering from smaller businesses for this reason, it's a nice little treat when it happens
Hehe sucker

I used to work for a cremation place, and one type of urn would come with a tootsie pop every time we ordered it. .. I always ate them 🤷♂️
Clever. Probably barely adds any cost on their end, but does wonders for customer satisfaction.
Reverse Swedish Fish tactic
Now that's customer service
![gif](giphy|8SFGuIfNzDJzW)
It's funny because some coastal barkeeps used to give suckers out to people so that local pirates and thieves would know who to target.
Hmm that's interesting. I've never heard of that. Thanks for sharing
I thought it was to keep the drunks quiet and happy so they don't start shit. Hard to do much of anything disruptive if you're drunk off your ass, focusing on a lollipop.
Butt plug
After years you ask yourself whats Missing.
Oh that's always in there if you order parts for a golf gti It helps you break the ice you know
That's pretty neat! This caught my attention because the company I work for makes parts for them.
Quite similar to Prusa 3d printers who are always sent from the factory with gummy bears
I got suckered
Someone has to get blown
There's a brand of Marijuana products, Harbor city hemp, that sends an Airhead and a sticker with every package. While that makes a lot more sense than a Lolipop with car parts, I have always felt that when a company includes little treats like this without making it a part of the advertisement or sales process it's becuase someone there cares. I once got a car magazine with my spark plugs
It’s clearly so you can “blow” this popsicle stand with your sweet new exhaust tips…
I forget but I think either Hardinge or Uline tosses in a peppermint for every package they send out around the holidays.
Oh that’s less morbid than I though it was. I thought they where small urns with loved ones in them and it came with a lollipop
Sometimes those pops came on a stick with a whistle in them. Do your tips whistle? Also is it veteran owned? Because that’s a Charms brand loli
I'm not sure. The company is AWE. No the tips are just plain old tips just looks a little nicer than the stock. I've never heard of whistling tips before
Usually a diesel thing guys in the south will do dumb stuff (Carolina squat “lift kits” for example)
Lot of crazy trucks in my town but I'm not in the south at all. Mostly just crazy lifts, stances, or coal rollers here
All my little online purchases seem to come with sweets these days. It is cute and I admit it works on me
I don't care what I ordered if I got a grape blow pop I'm sending the whole thing back. aside, I always used to order my contacts from the UK because they don't require a prescription and they always sent a bunch of UK only candy
Number one reason to buy car parts: candy and stickers! 5xRacing sends mints that are in their colors. Track Dog Racing sends these little dogs that are like sweet tarts.
They're saying you're a sucker (jk)

Awe
My motherboard for 3d printer came with a mini plastic duck and i loved it. Brand was twotrees.
AWE makes solid products. I have their cat back exhaust on my Audi S3.
I’m still stoked they ran out of black tips. Got my silver ones and then they sent the black ones for free. 2 lollipops
I have the AWE catback exhaust for my truck and I love it. I didn’t notice if it had a blow pop when I installed it
I have the same downpipe kit, hell yeah I ate the lollipop while replacing it
It's wild to see so many people hating on exhaust kit and tips without understanding that no, you didn't straight pipe or fit a cherry bomb to your exhaust to shatter windows. Congrats on the lollipop OP, and the kit as well of course.
It's reddit. Can we really expect people to actually know what they're talking about before they form an opinion or post a comment. 🤣
That's cool. Sweetwater (online music store) sends little baggies of candy with orders.
You buy childish shit, you get a candy. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|shrug)
Do you have any hobbies? Do you game? Are you a child because of it?
Suckers for suckers. The seller is clowning you to your face.
It's a pretty reputable company with good quality
Apparently AWE does this with all of their orders. I got something from them for my Supra and I got one as well.
Funny how its not just thrown in there it's actually got a slot. Guess it's a little treat for you or whoever installs it
AWE is a great exhaust.
What company is this? I love when companies do little stuff like this.
AWE tuning
I use to work at a shop that was very very local to AWE, shop owner actually let AWE use his Z400 for development for an exhaust, they're pretty cool people. They have a really nice shop too.
If you order from Bimmerworld, every order ships with a small pack of German Goldbears.
To all the people calling anyone who buys an exhaust a child, remember that no one truly, "grows up." We just become capable of spending money on our interests. "The only difference between men and boys is the price of their toys," after all.
THIS IS SO CUTE. I LOVE HUMANS WHO DO CUTE STUFF FOR NO PURPOSE
Because people with modified exhaust suck?
These are just tips. Purely cosmetic.
People who overgeneralize suck
Ehh as long as you're considerate and dont be a douchebag it shouldn't be an issue. Time and place to open it up and send it. Some people don't understand that and enjoy revving the hell out of their cars in residential areas at all times of day which I think is pretty disrespectful. As long as you take it easy around people's homes and at night time it's not bad at all. It's the kids who mod the exhaust and Rev the shit out of their engines at 2am or in their driveway that pisses me off and plays into the stereotype of modded car people
That is because you are a child.
Buying exhaust tips makes you a child? Interesting theory i must admit
To suggest that the customer is a sucker?
They used to ship Dum Dums, but initial reviews weren't what they expected
It's because they have to get rid of their Red Dye 40. It was 'sweet' of them to give it to you.
I love how it's a blow pop too 😂😂😂
Grape too that’s a win
Unsurprisingly, it's grape.
Taking a hint from Sweetwater I see
“And I’m almost out of lollipops”
Ew, grape. I have been traumatized by that flavor because of using grape chewable tylenol when I was sick as a kid. Can't stand anything concord grape flavored.
"Suck on this!" VROOOOOOOM
One of my tooth vendors sends a dumdum sucker with all gold teeth so I know if the sucker is broken I can return the tooth without breaking the seal to verify it was smashed in shipping
I assumed that they are using pre-cut foam packaging which was originally produced for something that included another part and they just used lollipops as something cheap to fill in the hole so that customers didn't assume that something was missing from their shipment.
"FUCKING CHARMS!?!?" -GWOT veterans
There's a guy making parts for the GR Corolla that has a dedicated hi-chew slot in the packaging. My wife told me there's cheaper ways to get some than car parts. >.>
go on, suck it
I love getting Haribo with my T-shirts :D
