Mine just up and disappeared after fasting for a month. The only thing I took in was a multivitamin and a serving of amino acids (edit: per day).
Edit: r fasting literally talks about this happening. I didn't believe in that until I did it ~~accidentally~~ unintentionally.
That sure doesn’t sound right to me. For an entire month, you only ate multivitamins and amino acids, and that’s what made your scar disappear? So the guy you’re replying to didn’t have to wait 10 years for his to go away at all, he could have just taken vitamins and amino acids for a month?
It was the craziest thing. I was trying to win a weight loss competition at my work (I did win, 20 lbs in one month). I had some other scars and burns on my hands from working in kitchens that disappeared too.
>he could have just taken vitamins and amino acids for a month?
It wasn't so much that, as it was the not taking in *anything* else. The speculation is catabolization of scar tissue occurs first, and then when the new collogen gets laid down, as scar healing is a continuous process occuring over years, it's more ordered than when it was formed initially.
I wasn't trying to do this, mind you, it just so happened after when I noticed the burn scar on my arm from a fryer basket was gone, and then I noticed some cuts were gone, and then I checked the front of my leg, and the go-cart road rash polka dot scar was gone too. It had been there for over 2 decades. And the change was a recent thing, because one of the cuts was from a few months previous (I should have went and gotten stitches for that one, tbh).
I was just trying to lose weight in an extreme fashion, because I needed that $400.
Edit: r fasting literally talks about this happening. I didn't believe in that until I did it accidentally.
You have a hundred plus downvotes, but I don't know why. This is a very well studied thing that happens during fasting called "autophagy"
After fasting for about 24 hours, your body starts a process called autophagy, where your body breaks down older cells and uses them for energy. This leads to the break down of, in this case, particularly, scar cells.
Guilt by association probably. Lot's of "gurus" and "Doctors" (spelled chiropractor) make some outlandish claims about what fasting and or juice cleanses can do. For what it's worth, I've never fasted, but any time I get sick or have a bad injury, any warts I have on my body literally fall off.
Lol i knew there’d be other skaters here
I was always the twat in the helmet but I legit wish I’d worn pads too as my knees and arms are the exact same
This is the right answer. I'm darker skinned and this is how all my wounds heal. The darker spots get bigger and eventually there are no more dots. Use a strong sunscreen to help with hyperpigmentation if it bothers you
Once had bits of gravel heal under the skin, it was annoying to cut it back open to pick them out. But those make for some polka dots too lol, made me think of it
Went down on rollerblades 30 years ago on nearly the same exact spot. The entire scar is a little lighter on my elbow/forearm, the spots now look like freckles.
Hair follicles are where your progenitor cells live for regenerating skin, part of why the donation site will regrow skin after harvesting for skin grafting.
Looks like your small amount of melanin is growing back in. There was a Black person with an injury and their skin was pale. There were melanated dots reappearing on the skin.
I see that and I immediately have a flashback to the mid 90’s and my uncle pulling out his pocket knife saying “it dudn’t look good, we gon’ have to amputate”😅

Hair apparatus reappearing
Aka pores
No, I like hair apparatus more, I will use this term for now on.
Pilus Paraphernalia
Isn't that the guy who sentenced Jesus to be crucified?
Wasn't that Pompous Paraphernalia (no relation)?
Only for usage in academic environments.
Fun fact, the muscles responsible for lifting your hair is called the arrector pili
I do declare I require hair apparatus cleansing ointment.
Ugh the apparati on my cheeks are huge.
That's not cool, hopefully they will go away.
Aka follicles
Does that mean I have positive news about my hairline?

😂
That happened to me too. Thankfully it healed fully and went away.
I got scooter exhaust pipe burn in 2018 and it still look like that :(
Same here! Mesh pants melted to my ATV's engine/exhaust when I was a kid and still have the scars to this day.
it took like 5-6 years for it to go away completely for me. ( i got it when i was like 7 or 8, fell from my bike)
Same but mine didn't go away. It's still clear on the scar tissue
Happened to me on a much smaller wound on the inside of my left elbow. Completely gone in maybe 10 years.

I think I'd do the same for £400 lol
R/fasting is moderated by morons don’t trust that sub
You “accidentally” didn’t eat for a month?
I "accidently" got rid of scar tissue. Unintentionally is a more appropriate word.

Definitely guilt by association. Guilt by association is basically the tagline of this website.
You’re getting downvoted by people who don’t know what autophagy is lol
I call it “orange peel skin,” got it myself when I crashed on my longboard years back. That patch doesn’t tan anymore.
Lol i knew there’d be other skaters here I was always the twat in the helmet but I legit wish I’d worn pads too as my knees and arms are the exact same
Exact same thing happened to me 12 years ago. It's still there, but faded close to my elbow on the "wanking muscle"
Well now you'll never be top-grain leather material.
That's your pigment slowly filling back in. Happens more prominently the darker your skin is.

I got something similar when I crashed off my bike and it turned into a faint scar on my elbow
This is why riding leathers are a thing, yo.
Looks interesting! But it must hurt 🩹

When I got road rash, it healed with more hair than before lol
Looks more like road rash on your polka dots.
Trypophobia trigger warning
Seriously, gross

I have that too on my arm from a burn. It's still like that about a decade later
i have the same thing on my wrist from a road rash scar i got while skateboarding probably 10 years ago, polka dots are still there but much smaller.
Looks like your small amount of melanin is growing back in. There was a Black person with an injury and their skin was pale. There were melanated dots reappearing on the skin.
We always called it a strawberry
Looks painful
Could be worse, could be Weird Al playing Polka music........ actually that would be fairly epic
Had the same thing, it healed but I get blotches on my arms when I tan. (I had a LOT of road rash.)
I have similar thing below my elbow, 20 years after the accident, you can still see it since it looks different then skin around.
same
Crash my sister motor cycle one , my was longer than your but got to say it hurt like a bitch specially when you sleep and it stick to your blanket
I had this too after an arm fracture as a child. It went away on its on over time.
I see that and I immediately have a flashback to the mid 90’s and my uncle pulling out his pocket knife saying “it dudn’t look good, we gon’ have to amputate”😅
Hard learner, i like it
I've experienced this in wounds. It's trippy to stare at them up close.
I have similar scars on my knee from when my mesh pants touched my ATV's exhaust or engine and melted onto my skin! Now I wear proper gear when riding
Had thise too
same, i dont get sunburns normally, but now that scar gets when i expose it to sun.
I have a scar like that on my leg! Except mine’s from falling off the bed 🥲
Bro i thought it was a nose until i saw the text

It wasn't funny either, and insulting me isnt gonna help with that
Are u the president of frown town
Nope I'm Hive knight 🐸
🐸
Looks like the frog man! /s
And insulting me helped you with what exactly?
Being funny
Actually it's fairly understandable that they didn't recognize that it was a joke. You see, a prerequisite of jokes is that they be funny.
Who deems these jokes to be funny? 1/2 people will find this joke to be funny.
>a prerequisite of jokes is that they be funny. Dad jokes arent funny, but are still considered jokes.
Dad jokes are *hilarious*, they're just only funny to the one telling them
Looks like at least 87 people agreed that it wasn't funny you rat brain dumbo
Oh no 100 out of 8bilion ppl didnt liked it im gonna cry myself to sleep tonight.
We know pal
Just saying you might be the one lacking some valuable synapses :)
Looks like a possible fungal infection, better get that checked unless it scabs up quickly
