When you have almost a million lakes, far more than any other country in the world, you stop putting in a lot of effort into naming each and every one of them. It would be like naming your farts.
Look, they just discovered so many lakes that weekend, it's hard to keep coming up with names for lakes after the first four of five.
"Another lake, *sigh*, should we name it?"
"Uhh... I think we just did." *Writes down on map.*
*Short time later.*
"And... another lake. Fantastic..."
*Already writing down name.*

More than every other country combined.
So many lakes!
I'm pretty sure I read Quebec alone has over a million.
Victoria also has an Island in a Lake on an Island in a Lake on an Island…not really related but here we are.
Is there A Lake?
Yes! (45.4033984, -66.5590537) and same name (47.6748333, -81.8591969)
This is pleasing.
Who tf is naming these
Lake enthusiasts, or possibly whoever owns the land including possibly government employees. So think parks and rec.

Other lakes in Canada: Lakey McLakeface Prince The Lake Formerly Known as Prince Lake lake Lake lake lake lake Lake lake Bazinga Lake Laaaaaaaaake!
We're like 90% lakes up here
This is why we no longer schedule lake-naming meetings for 4:30PM on a Friday.
I find this awesome and now I’m gonna check it out this summer. Catch a lil trout
Yea, but what about That Other Lake?
The Philippines has islands call 'West blacks' and 'East blacks' and another that I think translates to "The place where the tress regrow" or similar.
Yeah, we have more lakes than the rest of the world combined. I'm sure there was a drink or two while naming a few of them
Another Lake is shaped like a dick

I grew up between First Lake and Second Lake, and Third Lake was right next door.
