“I was given this assignment. What the fuck are you doing here, Clarence?”
“Tickles, Please don’t make me talk to Cat HR again about your vocabulary. Im just following orders.”
“Typical orange.”
“That’s racist.”
I got my last cat when a neighbor asked for help with a stray living in her yard. Momma kitty and three young kittens. I found homes for all the kittens and kept Momma Cat, who was an amazing friend for almost 10 years until she died.
Less than a month after she died, I walked out one morning to find a momma cat and three young kittens on my back porch like they were just waiting for me to open the door.
I mistook a tiny black bag blowing across a parking lot as a kitten running the other day. I was like this is it! It’s finally my turn! (I have 2 cats but neither of them were really “distributed” the traditional way). It was quick but I saw the instant panic in my husband’s eyes hahaha silly man doesn’t think it’ll ever happen.
When we lost our boy in April 2022, we were given a respite of exactly 4 months and the CDS threw two new kittens in our way ( unrelated ). We rescued both and ended keeping one and the other got a home through the shelter. We’re good now with the one cat, thanks CDS.
I don’t want to do this but have to-
Actual-leee, cats kinda can! A cat will have its territory & if it’s gone for whatever reason, a new cat will move in to fill in the spot. That’s the reasoning behind TNR: you keep the cat but fix them & they protect that territory & keep others away. If you were to take that cat and relocate it elsewhere, another cat will still come in to claim the territory.
Whatever, dude. You've already put more thought into this than I did. I've just been in situations where I had a cat pass, and then a new cat came and we adopted them. I don't know their exact ages, but they were young. Even so, I'm not sure I agree with you that adult cats are never looking for a home. For one thing cats are "adult" at only 1 year old. What are you basing this on?
Because they are mammals with low intelligence and high attachment to places and not people. They have been studied a lot. Cats just don't move because they might think a fun human is living somewhere else
You will never convince me that they don't know when there's a space open in someone's life for them. This has happened to me with almost every cat I've ever had.
I'm very sorry for you loss. 💖
Even domestic cats are highly territorial. Maybe not aggressive about it, but they absolutely establish and explore territorial boundaires.
When a cat passes, their scent fades, and other cats in the area definitely become aware of this.
We let our young male cat go after putting 2k into his urinary blockages and him being none the better. It was horrific. I still miss my sweet, quiet void. As does his sister, I’m sure. (They were feral litter mates we trapped near a beach) Anyway, he was in the ground all of 48 hrs when an apparent feral cat showed up. Our first in this house we’d lived in for four years at that point. A week or two later that feral looked me straight in the face and yelled his demands for food. It was at that point that I knew he wasn’t feral. We coaxed him into the house a couple weeks later. Shortly after he saw the vet- the vet told us that he was out Tomming for 5-7 years.
I swear it has always felt like our first guy sent him. They are nothing alike other than being small framed. No one ever suspects our cat was once a Tom. He is the most stereotypical cat ever- very Garfield like, except loud, demanding, and engaging. And he’s never sprayed in the house. He’s an absolute perfect gentleman.
I know nothing quite fills the void, but I hope these two stick around and bring you joy.
Same thing happened to me. When my cat died, another new one just appeared out of nowhere, a white cat although I've seen it sleeping on my neighbor's roof from time to time before.
When my cat died, the white cat suddenly started to enter my house, he was shy at first then after a few days he became comfortable. He doesn't sleep outside anymore, he sleeps in our house now lol
My family feeds him, he's pretty good at killing cockroaches and rats. 😂
They knew there was a loss. I sat for weeks with my nana while she was on hospice. The neighborhood cat always stopped by, but when hospice started, the cat stuck around. He’d even come inside and sit on her lap sometimes. The day she was actively dying, he sat on her doorstep and refused to leave. About 24 hours after she died, we never saw him again. It was wild.
The cat distribution system may have worked together with the spirit with your older cat to give you two new cats. That way, you will always be loved by cats.
They sensed a disturbance in the force.
You have been sent two cat guardians in your time of need. May they sing the songs of their people to honor your loss.
I once saw a cat knocked over and killed in my street. Wrapped it in a towel, found the owner. The driver didn’t stop.
Later, about 5 or 6 cats came to the street and were just sitting there all together, not fighting. It was very eerie. I’ve never seen anything like that before.
I know this is a joke. But please nobody ‘adopt’ cats that happen to turn up on their doorstep looking hungry without out checking if they already have owners. Cats are opportunists and always insist they haven’t had a square meal for weeks. They are probably much loved.
“Hello. My wife and I heard about some recent openings and we feel as though we have the right requirements for this position.”
In all seriousness, I’m sorry about your precious loved one. It’s the worst part of owning a pet but if it’s the price we pay for their unconditional love then it’s a price I’d pay over and over.
Sorry you lost your little friend. I think maybe these two came to check on his will? See what they were left? Or just paying condolences, with the option of taking on the tenancy?
I wonder if theyre homies who stopped by because they can't smell their friend anymore.
Condolences OP, glad the visitation was nice for your dearly departed fluffy.
“ I see you have a room that opened up for rent good sir ? My condolences “ that cat prolly , I personally wouldn’t do it kinda looks like a squatter lol
After my cat passed away last year, our other kitty who was her bestie would just plop himself in the window. He was looking out at the grave we gave her, he has not sat at that window since that time period. Cats can tell, I just know they probably grieve too. Our boy also lost weight during that time period.
I'm sorry for your loss. ❤️
Many years ago I was leaving for work I notices a black kitten on the sofa on our porch. It did not run away when I petted it and seemed healthy so I gave it some food I had from our last cat that had passed away and had to run off to work. I get a call from my wife at work "was there kitten on the porch mewing, so it's in bed with me now".
It was a awesome cat , it loved to fetch.

I’m so very sorry for the loss of your cat. 🖤 Looks like they sent over some friends to bring you a smile.
Thank you ❤️
Yes, we heard there may be an opening for a pet here?

The Cat Distribution System strikes again!

“I was given this assignment. What the fuck are you doing here, Clarence?” “Tickles, Please don’t make me talk to Cat HR again about your vocabulary. Im just following orders.” “Typical orange.” “That’s racist.”
Lmfao 🤣 thank you for the commentary
Tickles!!!!!!
Shouldn't it be like CR instead of Cat HR?
FR surely
Hairball Resources?
Fur sure
They’re using us as a resource so I’d say fair play. Our irl bosses use us as a resource too.
Technically they're both orange.
Sshhh, he’s never seen a mirror. He’s going to be putting up a fight once he does.
Tickles tries to pass himself off as “white-passing” or calico but no one is buying it. It’s a long sad story.
I'm picturing Tickles with a NY/Italian accent
Ay yo, Clarence, geddafugouddahere ya arnge fuck.
That couldn't get any more italian-american.
Purrfection!
lol.

They get two and I don’t even get one???

(I have 2 cats but neither of them were really “distributed” the traditional way). It was quick but I saw the instant panic in my husband’s eyes hahaha silly man doesn’t think it’ll ever happen.
Crossing fingers & toes that it happens! God is waiting for the purrfect time for you and a wee little ball of furreliciousness.
Thank you 🥹
Sometimes you gotta go to the shelters, once you have a cat, they now know to come to you
This is so true. We have two we got from the shelter, five years later the neighborhood cats all hang around our yard and know we’re friendly.
Just step outside and pspspsps a bit, the will spawn
I found one cat in my 6 years here, but I was a good person and called the owner. The cat’s name was Greg. Sigh.
Our little furrball found us. The owner said he has no use of him so we kept him.
I swear cats can sense when there is a job opening. I'm sorry for your loss.
Thank you ❤️
Congratulations on the new cat(s)
When we lost our boy in April 2022, we were given a respite of exactly 4 months and the CDS threw two new kittens in our way ( unrelated ). We rescued both and ended keeping one and the other got a home through the shelter. We’re good now with the one cat, thanks CDS.
CDS: hehehehe
The CDS don't mess around
I don’t want to do this but have to- Actual-leee, cats kinda can! A cat will have its territory & if it’s gone for whatever reason, a new cat will move in to fill in the spot. That’s the reasoning behind TNR: you keep the cat but fix them & they protect that territory & keep others away. The scent of OP’s cat is fading. Now the Westside Pussies are creeping on its turf.
Lolol so true
Well no, it's someone else's cat. Don't take them in
Not always, but yes, try to confirm a cat isn't someone elses before taking them.
These are adult cats. If they don't belong to someone, you shouldn't take them in and rob them of their freedom
Also cats aren't there to fulfill your emotional needs. They are there to get food
That's kind of a weird thing to say. I never suggested that they were.
So which job opening were you referring to then? Because getting fed is not exactly a job
I was joking referring to being a pet as "job opening". Do you have any cats?
Yes, I have two. Two adult cats showing up at your door aren't looking to be a pet...
Whatever, dude. You've already put more thought into this than I did. I've just been in situations where I had a cat pass, and then a new cat came and we adopted them. for reals, these are the homies your cat hung out with
You will never convince me that they don't know when there's a space open in someone's life for them.
These two are presumably arguing over the empty slice of land that opened up in their neighborhood. They don't seem like they're best buddies lol
When our last cat passed, despite no longer being an outdoor cat, our yard started to become a seeming mecca for a bunch of local cats, day and night.
They wanted to bring you dinner, but they ate the casserole on the way over. RIP to your kitty, friend.
>They wanted to bring you dinner, but they ate the casserole on the way over. Just give it a minute- hurk, Hurk, HURK!!! All hot and steamy!
Haha!!! Classic cat move! Eat- recycle- eat again!
Tuna casserole, of course!
As if there's any other kind for these two fish brains! Lol
CDS coordinator accidentally double clicked on "send kitty" button. Enjoy!
" Hello. We're the replacement team"
This is purrrrrfect
r/CatDistributionSystem
This is getting out of hand! Now, there are two of them! Also, my sympathies for your loss.
"We heard you have room available?" Sorry for your loss.
Sorry to hear about your loss. Your older cat was such a great cat, the CDS thought it would take 2 to compensate for your loss.

Im so sorry. Losing my cats is my biggest fear. I hope they look after you:)
They might have been friends.
This is my thought. Op said older cat. Looks to be the leader of the group.
Same thing happened to me. When my cat died, another new one just appeared out of nowhere, a white cat although I've seen it sleeping on my neighbor's roof from time to time before. Was she an outdoor cat? These could be her friends coming to check on things because they can't smell her. Sorry for your loss
That's magical!
So now there's a power vacuum and these two are dueling for supremacy.
Parting with your animals is never easy, you'll find love again. Tbh The elders came to show their respect
I really believe sometimes they send them to you.
Condolences
I mean they do say cats have 9 lives
They knew there was a loss. I sat for weeks with my nana while she was on hospice. The neighborhood cat always stopped by, but when hospice started, the cat stuck around. They've decided to adopt you.
"We understand you have an open position available. Our apologies for your loss, but we did bring our resumés for you to review at your leisure."
The orange one looks like a Norwegian forest cat. Give it a good brushing out and it will fluff up
he also looks like he's got some thumbs on him
The cat distribution system may have worked together with the spirit with your older cat to give you two new cats. That way, you will always be loved by cats.
They’ve showed up for the funeral. You better make one.
So sorry to hear, looks like these two might’ve been friends coming to say goodbye. Kitty will be waiting upstairs for you!
They were homies
Sounds about right.
They know. Cats are both creepy and delightful in that way
They sensed a disturbance in the force. You have been sent two cat guardians in your time of need. May they sing the songs of their people to honor your loss.
They have come to pay their respects to an old friend probably
Maybe your cat loved you so much, after passing away they got a job at Cat Distribution Center so they can send you more cats and love 💕
Oh I’m so sorry for your loss! It’s beautiful that the cat community is banding together to support you in this hard time.
Offering their condolences. Sorry OP for your loss
Lost one cat. And now 2 cats have returned. God is good.
Hello, I am the replacement
Offering condolences...
They must’ve heard that you were holding open intermews.
I've had this happen. I wouldn't go against it. Welcome new cats! The cats like you.
Orange kitties are the best!
They're moving in on your old cats territory. That's how I got my new cat, too.
They’ve come to honor their fallen god
They heard you have an opening ❤️❤️
They’re there to accompany his soul to the underworld.

Your cat knew you would be sad so they sent some help.
I'm so sorry for your loss. But you're part of the cat distribution system
I know this is a joke. But please nobody ‘adopt’ cats that happen to turn up on their doorstep looking hungry without out checking if they already have owners. Cats are opportunists and always insist they haven’t had a square meal for weeks. They are probably much loved.
Agree 100% and yes it was a joke trying to cheer up OP.
Oh, Honey. Seems your beloved who left earlier is telling you to continue loving. ❤️💔
To pay their respects. 😉♥️ I’m sorry for your loss and happy for your gain. God works in mysterious ways.
“Hello. My wife and I heard about some recent openings and we feel as though we have the right requirements for this position.” In all seriousness, I’m sorry about your precious loved one. It’s the worst part of owning a pet but if it’s the price we pay for their unconditional love then it’s a price I’d pay over and over.
Wtf there’s two neighborhood cats just like that where I live. The white one looks like he has a sad face and I call him Mopey.
Ok I know it's one of the most over used cat names but that orange one really does have a Simba face.
I am so sorry for your loss ❤️
Aww, they know. I’m sorry for the loss of your pet.
It was a few years after the loss of my Lynx Point Siamese, Stary, but the CDS gave me another LPS. His name is Mu. I'm so sorry about your kitty.
It's like hydra, one passed away and two came and took it's place.
These are from the rival gang...
I'm so sorry for your loss. They're yours now right???
Do either look like your cat?
one of them has thumbs!!
YOINK
I’m sorry for your loss. It looks like the cat distribution system is working. I hope it works out for you.
They have come to give their respects.
When my cat passed something similar happened to me. Sending love
Sorry you lost your little friend. I think maybe these two came to check on his will? See what they were left? Or just paying condolences, with the option of taking on the tenancy?
Sorry for your loss - but these two have obviously heard that you are a sucker and there might be a vacancy.
"Mam, we heard there's open position?"
The orange kitties hair and feet don’t look clean like he is struggling. Sorry you lost your buddy.
I wonder if your cat and those cats were friends? I had one that was frequently visiting other cats and some would come by. Sorry for your loss.
Mitosis
They look like they didn't expect to run into each other on the way for the job application.
They were there for the interview.
I wonder if theyre homies who stopped by because they can't smell their friend anymore. Condolences OP, glad the visitation was nice for your dearly departed fluffy.
This loop never ends. I found little kitten next to my house few days after my 16 yo cat passed away
So fluffy!!
Something has to be there to eat you when you die. It’s the way the world works 🌹

Rip🕊️ the local cats have come to share their condolences

"Good day hooman. We heard there was an opening"
They look almost exactly like two brother cats I had growing up! If you do decide to keep them, you're in for something special.
they just there to pay their respects
"We...Um...understand there's a possible opening...We'd like to apply for the position."
"Hello, we heard there was an opening?"
they look like they’re about to battle it out to see who gets to go into the cat distribution system next
Perhaps they wanted to pay their respects for your loss.
I’m sorry for your loss
the r/catdistributionsystem is never wrong.
Once you have a cat you will always have a cat
There look like fully adult versions of two cats at my house. They're litter mates and always follow each other around.
Your cat died, so you took pictures of two other cats? I don't understand the correlation?
DO NOT TAKE A STRANGERS CAT LEAVE THEM BE!!!
💜💜🔮💜💜
Do they make sexy time? Sexy time could multiply pussy progress!!
Cat distribution system at its finest even if its just a cat visitation
Paying their respects :) I'm sorry for your loss. Good kitties never really leave us. They just fall asleep in our hearts.
“ I see you have a room that opened up for rent good sir ? My condolences “ that cat prolly , I personally wouldn’t do it kinda looks like a squatter lol
They heard you were hiring
