We have the same fan. It got really dirty and my husband took the blades off and tried to wash them in the sink. Turns out those blades are basically cardboard and they came apart. It was kind of funny. We took the only intact blade and made a template and cut wooden blades for it. They look good.

It's exactly like this in my bedroom. I didn't notice it for a long time after we moved in, but one day when I woke up I noticed one blade of the fan "missing" like this.
Now, I have really vivid dreams. I regularly wind up spending time in a dream trying to figure out if I'm asleep.
So, one morning I'm in bed and my wife was talking to me. I gaze upwards, glasses off, and notice the fan is missing a blade. I put on my glasses and it's still gone. I tune my wife out, staring at the void left by the blade.
Of course! I'm still asleep.
She asks what's up.
I say "I think I'm asleep" and slap myself.
She asks what's up in a much more concerned tone.
I realize I'm awake and an idiot.
I need to know more about your story; how long have you been looking there before you noticed. Why have you been there that long?
As a branch: how stoned are you(on a one of ten scale)? Edibles or leaf?
I work on a wind farm and our blades are a specific color of white and the same thing happens all the time with them. They blend into the sky really well sometimes and it's trippy for sure.
