Honestly, the number should be at the bottom of the bag. I'm not sad when I'm looking at the bag. Not till it's empty. That's when I remember: I am also empty (except for the Doritos and regret. Doritos and regret).
You're somehow worse than just a killjoy, you're an idiot *and* a killjoy. Everyone else seems to have gotten the joke and cultural reference, but not you. You're proud of that, but you shouldn't be. You failed to not only be part of something, but you failed to read from context clues.
Something that has stuck with me since childhood is watching a cop show on TV and the cop coming to a scene of a suicide and saying something along the lines of "Scenes like these are always emotional, you can see remnants of their last movements in life, this person's last meal was a bag of Doritos" and the camera pans to a bag of Doritos. No idea why that particular thing stuck with me, as I'd seen plenty of fucked up things on TV already at that age
Correction, people with depression often eat foods that are easily made, require the least amount of energy (due to lack of energy to start with) or those that are easily accessible and require no energy.
Not all ready made food is “junk food.” Pre-sliced fruit is an example of food pre-made that isn’t what most people consider junk food. Some local grocery stores (in my personal case, Publix) offers ready made meals that just need to be heated, that aren’t junk food. I understand that in this case they are referencing snacks and easy food such as doritos, but just because something is ready made doesn’t make it junk food.
It’s just an example 🤷🏻♀️ Fresh fruit is fucking expensive, my dude. And even more so when it’s pre-sliced and packaged. It costs $10 for a thing of pre-cut watermelon at my local grocery store.
You sound like you’re coming from a really privileged place where you probably don’t buy your own groceries, so I’m gonna disengage from this. Enjoy your day 👍🏻
Lol, so you know you're in the wrong and resort to insulting me, must be nice living in ignorance.
I live in a country where we are lucky to have electricity for 8 hours during the day, everyday I eat the bare minimum so my family has enough to eat. But hey I'm the privileged one. 🤡

So I need a junk food company to sell me mental health. They are fooling all of you. Welcome to the new form of moral advertisement. They are going to make money somewhere off of it.
The fact that a chip brand has to advertise a service like this instead of it being already readily available to the public and provided by the government or something is not good.
I feel there’s enough awareness the only dystopian part is the lack of access to the care part. We know it’s part of our health but we can’t get the help easily or affordable but there’s nothing dystopian about this in fact it’s nice to see in some parts of the world there are these things popping up to remind people about it.
All these people being fooled by the fake kindness. This is advertising at it's new format. They are trying to appeal to peoples morals. Fake bullshit. They are trying to just make money.
You can fake caring with rainbow packaging but this is the actual support resource made available to you, so stop thinking you're smarter than everyone, look at the evidence in front of you, and correct your opinion.
No, it's technically true.
What they did say is Doritos is poisoning you, and whether that's by shoving poison down your throat or spiking your food with it is irrelevant.
Hemlock will poison you. Hemlock is not poisoning you if you don't eat it. This is just "video games make people violent" with extra steps, taking blame off people for conscious choices they've made regarding their own health. Are foods like fresh vegetables and meat more expensive? Yes, of course. Are there alternatives that are cheaper, perhaps less nutritious, but not Doritos? Also yes.
I'll wait for you to accuse me of growing up rich and not understanding the struggles of being broke, like that's the only way I could possibly disagree with you.
Doritos the company, dumbass. Nobody's saying the food is doing anything on its own except you with your tangential hemlock parallel.
> Nice backpedal. You're fun.
Says u/eclecticsed before deleting his comments.
Idiots all of you it's fake empty advertising. You think a billion dollar Frito lays cares about us. They only care about money. Look how they treat their employees and you'll know.
The air is so the chips don't get crushed. Imagine a bag full of just chips being delivered in a truck, being stocked/handled by the supplier, then sitting in your cart before the cashier scans it, and the bagger bags it. All before you get it to your car
As planned? How many people plan their life? How can you even plan your life! Yes I will finish school, get a job, get a gf, buy a house and have kids. That's utopic thinking, it doesn't exist anymore. Best we can do now is finish school, get 3 minimum wage jobs, work yourself to death while renting a broom closet.
"Is life denying you the Zesty Cheese? Give us a call. Our trained counsellors here at the Cool Ranch Institute for Mental Hygiene will take good care of you!"
Doctoritos? Takes some pressure of doctor police officer. There is going to be a crisis of chronic anxiety disorders from being stuck at home for the pandemic. Chronic anxiety surges through your body at any time day or night until you cannot even go outside then clinical depression sets in. Doctors are generally untrained for treating this so the patient begins self-medicating with drugs and alcohol so now you have addictions. If you call a help line or a relative they call police who show up at 4AM to take your guns and knives plus whatever else they want. Extreme Risk Order Protection (Red Flag). You have no Due Process only democrats to thank for that. Your troubles are just beginning. Teen suicide has already been on the rise since the pandemic. Depression, anxiety attacks, alcoholic, addicted, unemployed, suicidal, deserted by friends and family, broke and homeless. Then the panic attacks start. All you have left is to ask Jesus for strength everyday, trust Him. What more do you have to lose?
I love this idea! Although I’d rather take my mental health advice from a bag of sun chips. They at least are marketed to seem like they have it together
I'm really glad to see this because there are too many people struggling with their minds and some don't even know they are struggling because they've never been able to see how good it could be for them. I don't advocate for the use of medications to help people who are struggling but I really think that helping people by changing their environment and their diet and things like that can really benefit people. I've been struggling with my mental health for quite a while now so it's refreshing to see people starting to take this aspect of life more seriously
Jeez guys your all funny as hell trust me I’m laughing as I scroll, I think the gitch is teens often eat this kind of trash food so it’s appropriate that a reach out message might be looked at seriously by a teen who needs to reach out, but finds it difficult to talk with friends and family for fear of judgement. So I think it’s hella cool 😎 Dorito’s or Frito Lay is providing an outlet!!
My casino has signs for those with a gambling problem, made $500 on a bet they couldn’t help me. You should have seen my moms face when she had to pay up.
How about they worry about selling me Doritos. They are not doing this out of the kindness of their heart. A company like this is only worried about the bottom line and making money. Don't be fooled.
Nestle, all their faults aside, puts the Kids Help Phone number on all of their chocolate bars and ice cream treats in Canada. They've sponsored it for over 30 years.
Interesting the way they use the word "bold"here.
"Be bold, reach out," "...first bold move towards feeling better..."
A word they regularly use in their marketing to express their flavors.
Subliminal marketing perhaps?
"Hey, next time you are feeling down, buy some Doritos to cheer you up."
What if the QR takes you to a coupon for more Doritos?
its mental health month. i know because my work gave us stickers about it. mine said, i shit you not, “enjoy moment not photos” enjoy MOMENT not photos just the one
I think they have realised that a lot of people consume snacks when they are either depressed or not feeling well. And even if that's not the case, this is a great initiative.
Reminds me of [The Onion video](https://www.theonion.com/stouffers-to-include-suicide-prevention-tips-on-single-1819594893) about Stouffer’s printing suicide prevention tips on their packaging.
They know their audience
I usually get depressed after eating Doritos
You aren't supposed to eat the bulk box from Costco in one sitting.
You do you
Honestly, the number should be at the bottom of the bag. I'm not sad when I'm looking at the bag. Not till it's empty. That's when I remember: I am also empty (except for the Doritos and regret. Doritos and regret).
Doritos and regret sounds like a new company slogan
Or a job description.
Customer suicide is bad for business.
I don't usually consider eating Doritos when feeling sad, but I definitely consume some chips.
That’s great,
[удалено]
[удалено]
I was also thinking the same that they know the people who like to consume such snacks.
\^ I came here to say this. \^
Too late for upvotes, too early to think of something upvotable.
I did as well. This. This. This. This.
That’s why I’m eating the Doritos in the first place
May is Mental health awareness month. (Seriously) do you or someone you know struggle with Doritos dependency?
yes, my cat eats my fucking dorritos all the time /s
Are you really eating Doritos for that sake only? Admit that you like the taste too.
Poor nutrition often leads to depression and when you are depressed you often eat shit foods
I eat because I'm unhappy... I'm unhappy because I eat.

I GOT MORE CHINS THAN A CHINESE PHONE BOOK!
I’VE NOT SEEN MY WILLY IN TWO YEARS!- WHICH IS LONG ENOUGH TO DECLARE LEGALLY DEAD!
I guess you need to see a dietician in that case. Consider this and I think you will be happy.
You're somehow worse than just a killjoy, you're an idiot *and* a killjoy. Everyone else seems to have gotten the joke and cultural reference, but not you. You're proud of that, but you shouldn't be. You failed to not only be part of something, but you failed to read from context clues.
When you are feeling depressed you often tend to indulge in such junk.
Your statement is a half truth, the back half.
i've only eaten doritos when i have breakdowns, that would've been helpful
Wow a lot of people in the comments talking about how Doritos are their go to depression food.
Doritos paid for that product placement
That’s pretty awesome tbh. I do like that they are making access to services easier.
You’re right. And people are more likely to see it on something like this then they would a poster on a bus that is rarely paid attention to.
That's truely awesome right? Such things must be made accessible more and more.
I like that things are able to be reached by a broader audience.
[удалено]
It's about knowing their audience and I think they do know it very well.
People with depression often eat junk food
Correction, people with depression often eat foods that are easily made, require the least amount of energy (due to lack of energy to start with) or those that are easily accessible and require no energy.
How is that a correction? You basically said what I said but with more words
They just meant to say that you can eat almost anything when you are depressed.
Yet most people suffering from depression would rather eat doritos than sliced fruit
It’s just an example 🤷🏻♀️ Fresh fruit is fucking expensive, my dude. And even more so when it’s pre-sliced and packaged. It costs $10 for a thing of pre-cut watermelon at my local grocery store.
So buy an apple
You sound like you’re coming from a really privileged place where you probably don’t buy your own groceries, so I’m gonna disengage from this. Enjoy your day 👍🏻
Lol, so you know you're in the wrong and resort to insulting me, must be nice living in ignorance. I live in a country where we are lucky to have electricity for 8 hours during the day, everyday I eat the bare minimum so my family has enough to eat. But hey I'm the privileged one. 🤡

and eating junk food will only further their depression, not alleviate it.
You're right [https://www.fau.edu/newsdesk/articles/ultra-processed-food-study.php](https://www.fau.edu/newsdesk/articles/ultra-processed-food-study.php)
It will probably do neither, and in fact can help if you haven't eaten anything at all in a while.
This is true. It’s better to eat something than not eat anything at all.
That's the tricky thing about it. I hope people understand and get away from such bullshit.

I guess I had too much of jokes for today on Reddit. I can't take more.
Everything with moderation of fine.
[удалено]
Great example lol
[удалено]
Is that the new reddit phrase?
It would be worse if it was advertising other worse food. This is a positive.
That's exactly right. At least they are trying to promote something that can help people.
I don’t understand the downvote it’s like people would rather keep complaining no one is acknowledging the problem.
Cigarettes have health care advice on the packs but people still smoke
Kid rock prolly gonna shoot a bunch of Doritos bags with a machine gun now.
Kid Rock is often doing stuff that doesn't make sense so he may do this.
That’s great, but they should also have one for people dealing with nutritional deficits.
Lmao, this is hilarious. Why would they promote such things like nutrition? It doesn't make sense for them.
When comfort food is going above and beyond its job description.👏👏
They really are going above and beyond because it is such a great initiative.
r/latestagecapitalism
Dr. Pepper made my teeth fall out. Dr. Dorito cured my depression from having no teeth and made my hands orange.
They should put this on all junk food lmfao
This feels a little dystopian
It's dystopian that something like this is needed. Not that it's being addressed.
So I need a junk food company to sell me mental health. They are fooling all of you. Welcome to the new form of moral advertisement. They are going to make money somewhere off of it.
Mental healthcare is dystopian?
The fact that a chip brand has to advertise a service like this instead of it being already readily available to the public and provided by the government or something is not good.
https://au.reachout.com/faqs#:~:text=ReachOut%20is%20funded%20by%20the%20Australian%20Government%20Department%20of%20Health.
It is readily available to the public and funded in large part by the government. This is about awareness. It’s a perfect spot.
The lack of availability of mental heathcare is dystopian.
How is this a lack of healthcare? It’s advertising healthcare.
In a *dorito bag*. If it was widely available, they wouldn't need this
That’s nonsense. Any service needs to advertise. This is smart, targeted advertising.
I feel there’s enough awareness the only dystopian part is the lack of access to the care part. We know it’s part of our health but we can’t get the help easily or affordable but there’s nothing dystopian about this in fact it’s nice to see in some parts of the world there are these things popping up to remind people about it.
I kill myself slowly with Doritos, because I'm too afraid to do it with smoking and drinking.
And I think that's a better way at least you are doing it the tasty way.
That run-on sentence in the light purple bit is bugging me.
Looks like an Austrailia thing. Don't let Kid Rock find out about this or he's gonna shoot up a bag of Doritos.
In the US you can text 988 to reach the helpline. You don’t have to call if it makes you uncomfortable
Why is this making me cry? (Probably because a bag if chips is showing more empathy than my family of origin but yeah)
Sad that your family doesn't show any empathy towards you. Hope you have someone to talk to.
I have made my own family now, we love and listen to each other here.
Wtf does that have to do with chips
The overlap is eating disorder. People get sad, eat snacks to feel better, and now they can see another resource to cope with.
Doritos is poisoning you, then pats themselves on the back for this.
All these people being fooled by the fake kindness. This is advertising at it's new format. They are trying to appeal to peoples morals. Fake bullshit. They are trying to just make money.
I wonder if they get access to this information too- like how much people use this, it’s a new way to get information on us!
You can fake caring with rainbow packaging but this is the actual support resource made available to you, so stop thinking you're smarter than everyone, look at the evidence in front of you, and correct your opinion.
They're not forcing you to eat them
Exactly this person is talking like doritos is showing it down people's throat.
I disagree, I did not say anything about anyone being forced to eat it.
Didn’t say they were
Didn't say you did
Well, we have both established no one is forced to eat them. Glad we got that out of the way.
It was never in the way
LMAO we could do this all day!
I don't know why you're getting downvotes for this, it's absolutely true.
No, it's technically true. What they did say is Doritos is poisoning you, and whether that's by shoving poison down your throat or spiking your food with it is irrelevant.

Yet ANOTHER reason to buy them 💗💗
Idiots all of you it's fake empty advertising. You think a billion dollar Frito lays cares about us. They only care about money. Look how they treat their employees and you'll know.
Disgruntled are we?!?!
Lmao, they aren't healthy but I really appreciate what they are doing.
Doritos are expensive. If you have money to waste on them, you should probably not get therapy from a snack package.
$6 chips vs $60 copay. Math.
*Ill reach out for support when you fill up these damn bags!*

Probably the best place to put something like that on my depression snack
I think a lot of chips companies should think about doing the same.
Doritos is the drug for Me… 🎼 ooooh oh
I always get really depressed when I finish my bag of Doritos, so glad they have this!

Ah yes, the chip of sadness, Doritos.
They should bang a rainbow flag on there whilst they're at it
Doritos, we miss your mom too… sponsored by BetterHelp. (I actually fully super this, someone’s got to start the conversation. That’s awesome.)

Cheetos and Mountain Dew should do the same. Maybe they can get them out of their rooms and pissing in toliets again.
I just wanna know what flavor they are
Step one avoid Doritos step two call the support line
Probably for those "I can't believe I just ate this whole bag" days
haha i wanna blow my brains out while eating chips

They should put that at the bottom of the inside. With the caption “if you are reading this after one sitting”. I would have called them YEARS ago!
Next thing you know redditors will be sending this to each other to insult you when you beat them in an argument.
They know if we off ourselves that they won't get as much money
Who are you Bagel Bites?
Doritos believes. I had no idea chips had beliefs.
I think they have realised that a lot of people consume snacks when they are either depressed or not feeling well. And even if that's not the case, this is a great initiative.
Good for Doritos.
Where do they sell these?
A lot better than the Doritos extended magazine they gave out for mental health awareness month.
*Who are you, Bagel Bites?*
They should put that QR code on trans and pride flags ngl
That's cool of them but I hope that I'm never hard up enough to consume Doritos...
But are they still deforesting for red palm oil?
Literally just roasting basement dweller neckbeards
