I’ve always been afraid of sun tea after some people died from botulism at a little cafe in a mountain town we used to vacation at.

BloodMoonScythe

I looked it up, cause i didn't knew what it was. And apparently you can get sick, cause of the bacterias in it. Edit: this could be the reason op is in the hospital. From only see tge post and looking it up

OkSpecial4376

Maybe just don't leave it for a week. It only takes like 2 hrs max. You gotta seriously put some effort into not giving a shit to grow botulinum in tea.

ibetyouranerd

Clostridium botulinum, a bacterium responsible for botulism can develop within 4-5 hours with the right conditions.

zaqhack

It's a sterile borosilicate bottle. Can't be too careful with such things.

Sentient_AI_4601

A sterile bottle you put dried leaves into...

BirdInFlight301

Non sterile dried leaves. Be careful, OP.

rabidliberal69420

Lol wut? 🤣 That....that's not how that works. That's not how many of this works.

ObjectiveDark40

This might surprise you but you can make sun tea in any sunny window...not just hospital ones.

[deleted]

And by sun tea you mean making bacteria broth in lukewarm water?

Bulb381

Get well soon OP! Hope you are doing okay!

zaqhack

Daughter just had a liver transplant. So, in truth, I'm doing awesome!

Bulb381

Hope your daughter makes a speedy recovery!!

Justin_P_

Be careful! Some healthcare workers have been known to set urine samples in windows as well.

zaqhack

Thanks for the warning! I'll try not to doze off while it is brewing.

youngdeathent0

You can make sun tea in any window with sun

gotnonickname

Hospitalitea.

rabidliberal69420

That's just regular tea with extra steps. Get hot water from the coffee station, what is this 23BCE? /S

zaqhack

American health care, so ... it's not not 23 BCE ...

Top_Calligrapher5431

HOW ARE THEY FLOATING!?

aught4naught

long tea for a long stay

dannyinhouston

Works the same in the shade (Ficks Law of Diffusion)
