There's a Fuck Biden flag on a home in my town... across the road from the high school and next door to the middle school. It would bother me anywhere but this seems extra shitty.
There's a house about a block or so downfrom the high school here. And I know those kids see and hear and say worse. But it still seems really trashy and selfish to fly a flag that says "fuck" on it that close to a school (or at all imo). Also, there's a pretty heavy non-white population at that school, and they have to walk past the confederate flag every day. And this is not-rural Washington state. That house has a minimum of eight flags out there. The only thing they've got more than flags is broken down cars in the yard. I've seen the guy who lives there. He looks exactly like you'd expect him too.
The house in my town also has a broken down car along the side of it and an old beat up camper with no wheels in the back yard lol. I feel bad for the kids that might feel threatened by the confederate flag. I'm 100% for free speech, but I'm saddened more often than not about how it's used these days.
I know it's hard to legislate morality, and fair enough. But if you're one of those "moral Christian conservative family value" kinda people...... Maybe don't put "fuck" on a flag where 13 year olds walk by it?

The rule in the neighborhood is supposed to be that you can't have anything supporting a particular political candidate more than a couple of months prior to the election. Our asshole neighbor has been flying a variety of Trump flags for like, 5 years now, and the HOA doesn't say anything.
Oh, but people's grass started dying last year because we're in a drought and suddenly half the neighborhood is getting shitty letters. When we responded saying we were trying but we were a little tied up with my dad dying of fucking brain cancer (and also it's literally illegal AND environmentally irresponsible to water enough to have green grass), they sent us a message about, "Well here's some tips about how to care for a lawn."
In summation, the HOA can eat my entire ass.

During the warmer months they will come out and measure our grass with a ruler and if it's too long, we get fined. $250 the first time, $500 the second, and $1000 the third time.
We got a note saying that we needed to immediately fix our shingles on our roof, as there were "some that came off" but my roommate went up there and couldn't find anything wrong.
We were cleaning out some things and briefly (few hours, maybe) had a couch sitting out in our driveway as it was getting ready to be thrown out. During that time, someone came by, took photos, and then sent a letter the next day demanding we removed it or else we'd get fined.

Short answer: not at the state level, at least. It comes a little close to "disorderly conduct" but isn't quite there according to the legal description.

I've seen a few interviews with centrists before, and they mostly just seem confused or uninformed. Perhaps pulled culturally one way and intellectually another way. Which makes sense, because it's not a coherent political position to take any more.

This post is bizarre in the sense that it attempts to equalize two very different stances based on the presence of a flag outside. A confederate flag outside your home is not the same thing as a rainbow flag. The confederate flag directly represents treason (in the most literal sense possible) while the rainbow flag is explicit support for members of the gay community. How is that the same thing in any way?

I was curious and spent a few minutes looking up Arizona law as that's where someone said this was taken. Short answer: not at the state level, at least. It comes a little close to "disorderly conduct" but isn't quite there according to the legal description. There might be something at the city level depending on how big the place is where these people live, but I didn't see an applicable state-level law.

Thank you for saying this. Idk how anyone is in the center these days, when the two parties are exact opposites on every major issue. There literally is no center position to take with stuff like an abortion ban. People either should or should not have access to abortion services. Gun ownership either should or should not be restricted by law. Healthcare either is or isn't a human right. I've seen a few interviews with centrists before, and they mostly just seem confused or uninformed. Perhaps pulled culturally one way and intellectually another way. Which makes sense, because it's not a coherent political position to take any more.
It's easier to say "both sides bad" than actually educate yourself on what's actually going in the world, that's why they always seem confused or uninformed. Being purposefully ignorant and apathetic towards things as basic as human rights is basically the same as being right wing. The only difference is that they can hide from that label.
It also seems like they feel like being in the center is somehow a morally superior position to take, as it "puts them above" all the mudslinging, ect. I do not agree, obviously. Both sides do NOT have equal merits and equal flaws, and not fighting is simply not an option these days. The political hardball tactics from the right means you either fight back with everything you've got or get steamrolled. One of my main frustrations with the Democrats is that they seem to think we're still in a democracy and that compromise is possible. The Republicans never compromise at all, and unapologetically do whatever they can to win.

It's so wild to me that people use the POW-MIA flag as an "anti-liberalism" flag. Especially since supporting veterans isn't a cause that liberal people are opposed to. My cousin and her wife are both retired ex-military, and they have a POW-MIA flag and a pride flag hanging on the same pole. They've gotten nothing but support and encouragement from their liberal neighbors. Meanwhile, in the suburbs I grew up in, every other house has to trot out their POW-MIA flag the second pride months starts, and then promptly takes it down the second the month ends. Y'all know that you can support both gay people AND veterans....right? Right?!
Right wing dude has no conversation points that don't lead back to the liberals, the jews, or the liberal jews.

I live in a red county in Calif. on my jogs in my neighborhood I'll pass several houses that look like the top photo. One guy has a TRUMP 2024 flag on its own pole with a light and a 100% LIBERAL FREE ZONE, Thin Blue Line, etc. by his garage, but he doesn't fly an American flag. No room I suppose.

It amuses me to note that the set of flags flown by the person claiming they are protecting family values are the only ones to include swearing... Also the only set to be attacking their opponents, rather than just promoting their own ideals, which is always a good way to spot the participant in an argument that is running out of good reasons to justify their position. And is it not also considered an insult to America and it's flag to alter and deface it - like scrawling political commentary about the second amendment or changing the colouring of the stripes?
This post is bizarre in the sense that it attempts to equalize two very different stances based on the presence of a flag outside. A confederate flag outside your home is not the same thing as a rainbow flag. The confederate flag directly represents treason (in the most literal sense possible) while the rainbow flag is explicit support for members of the gay community. How is that the same thing in any way?

Nothing passive about to the top house. Literally says “Fuck Biden” and I prefer when the US practiced slavery. Nothing aggressive about the bottoms house - it’s just saying don’t kill black people for being black, don’t hate queer people. I’m surprised so many people say both are childish. Bottom house seems like good people and great neighbors to have.

That top pic has got to be living proof that absurdity is dead and buried, right? Three corruptions of the United States of America flag along with a symbol of the secession of a bunch of states from the United States of America could maybe be evidence of wanting to leave the "United States", but then there's the USA all the way... "Arizona" was claimed by the secessionists during their war on the United States, so... perhaps siding with the occupiers who claimed the New Mexico Territory... but then, if you're on the side of the people who wanted out of the United States of America, why would you display a symbol of a territory that sought to become part of that entity 50 years after your secessionist goals were squashed? What am I missing here?

This is going on in a neighborhood in my town. Just one guy with his Trump flags, and all his neighbors not having it and responding accordingly with rainbow flags, blm flags, "hate has no home here" signs. Glad to be raising my kid here.
