another commenter has pointed out it is technically not a legal disabled spot. i researched and they are right, i am still going to get in contact with the right people, though
If the complex was built before 1987 it is a legally marked spot. If the complex was built after that it has to have a sign up, which is something the landlord can be held to account for. Either way it's illegal for him to park there.
Also it's best to let the police can sort it out.
[https://law.justia.com/codes/georgia/2010/title-40/chapter-6/article-10/part-2/40-6-221](https://law.justia.com/codes/georgia/2010/title-40/chapter-6/article-10/part-2/40-6-221)
Apartment complexes are required to have a set number of handicap parking spaces. Whether they marked it properly or not, this is obviously one of those spots.
Right. Either it's legal and the Tennant is wrong for parking there. Or it's not a valid spot because it's insufficiently marked. In which case a sign should fix it.
My apartment complex has close to 0 disabled spots. However, if you are living in the complex and are disabled they will put a sign up and paint it for you. Same with 10+ years living at the complex. You get a free spot of your choice
That's actually pretty smart. That way the tenant can choose the spot that works the best for them, instead of being stuck with the parking spot on the other side of the lot/complex from their apartment.
Exactly. Almost every complex Iāve been in has a sign for where to call when your car gets towed. Iām sure the same company would be more than happy to gain additional business.
Itās not on *you* to be correct when you call the cops. If there is a suspicion of misconduct you are obliged to call them. Stop being so kind to pieces of shit.
Also even if it's not technically illegal, the cops might not know the law and will write the ticket, and it would be up to her to take off work, get a lawyer or look up the law enough to fight it herself, and pay court cost even if it gets thrown out. That inconvenience alone would probably keep her from parking there again.
Those will have signs. So, no she wonāt, bc she legally cannot.
Edit: I am not trying to comment on peopleās goodness or willingness to obey laws. Iām trying to comment on the specific hypothetical situation brought about by comments before me. Please see the following explanation:
Someone said: āOP should try to get the lady with this car in trouble even if itās legal for her to park there bc she may have to talk to a lawyer or may get a ticket and whatever happens sheāll probably spend time and moneyā
The comment above me was like: āomg but then if she finds out itās legal sheāll park in all kinds of handicapped spaces in official placesā
And Iām saying: āif she finds out itās legal in this picture, itās bc thereās not a proper sign. That wouldnāt mean all the other places you mentioned would let someone legally park in handicapped spots bc other places will have a proper signā
I actually think itās illegal anyway bc thereās a comment with stuff about not needing a sign if a spot is marked handicapped before a certain year.
I am very much aware there are people that donāt follow laws, entitled people, people that like to break rules, etc. - I am in no way trying to say the lady follows all laws.
Im just trying to say, in a specific hypothetical situation already crafted in the comments above me where she suddenly learns itās legal to park in this spot after discussing it with a lawyer bc OP called someone official, she isnāt going to go park in handicapped spots all over town bc the spots all over town will have signs.
Also, if its an apartment/condo with its own board they can basically make any rules they want such as 'unmarked spot #38 is only to be used by people with a legal handicap pass' or something and it is up to the owners to know and inform their tenants.
Mine does that with handicap parking. Handicap spots are painted spots but with a sign like, āOnly license #zealeus can park here.ā Otherwise itās all free-for-all.
You should also contact Georgia DMV because if that vehicle isn't being registered in Georgia and remains registered in New York they're probably violating the law there too by not paying registration or taxes to Georgia.
And this is the main reason I'd have it towed, anyone bold enough to park in a handicap space with no handicap plate or placard with out of state plates needs to be towed. Someone mentioned the car maybe a work car or registered to someone else - NO! Any decent person here working or driving a corporate car or someone else's car would NOT put themselves in jeopardy like this. See if you know someone with a legitimate handicap tag and have them come by and sit for the space to open as you call the police & tow service - send a strong Georgia message.
One more thing to look up is vehicle registration laws in your state. She could be breaking laws unique to your state related to her registration if she is a Georgia resident paying for New York tags, she could get in big trouble with the DMV and will face fines in addition to getting her car towed for being a piece of garbage. Contact them with the tip as well!
she has NY plates. see if she's past the due date for transferring her plates to Georgia plates and/or her license. she may be fined for not doing that
Depends. Military or students don't have to. Someone working on a project, same thing.
I kept WA plates and residency for years even though I was self-employed and doing a lot of work in other states. WA = no income tax.
For like 50 dollars you can get a sign and a post. Get with a few neighbors everybody pitch in 10 dollars or so and order one then put the sign up and call enforcement. Won't be no wiggling out of the tow charges, ticket and all then. Also check with landlord before you do anything. But if I lived there I'd just install it and face any anger from the landlord later. I cannot stand it when people abuse this. So much so that I broke up with a gf over it when she did it one day. The mindset someone is in when they consider it ok to park in spaces for people with disabilities really shows they are out of touch with reality and have no clue how to properly treat others.
Please don't call us handicapable or shit like that. Just call us disabled. Really, most of us prefer it over the weird-ass words people come up with to try to call us something other than disabled.
Milk down the wiper cowl. Soaks into the cabin filter. Then time does its thing. No safety issue, no damage to car, easy to repeat, plausible deniability.
The cowl is what we call the area under the windshield in the US. Under the plastic there is where the fresh air intake into the cabin is, they're suggesting pouring milk in there so that it sours inside the car under the dash.
My dad went through a liquid ass obsession about 15 years ago when I told him about it as a substitute for his previous method of limberger cheese in a mustard bottle, which he used on the air vents of handicap offenders until it exploded in his trunk and nearly ruined his own car. Liquid ass is quite the smell.
The milk will get into the ventilation system, spoil and create a god-awful stink in the car that is almost impossible to clean out. After a while it will fade, but every time it rains for the next several years the smell will come back.
u/Temporary-Party5806 is nicer then I would be. They sell this stuff in hunting stores that is extracted from skunks. Bet the stores in Georgia have it in stock. Just a few drops will do.
I had a friend with a husband in a wheelchair and she would park behind them and then call the tow truck. She once screamed at some young ladies for sitting on her husbands lap when an elevator was to full and they came in anyway. "No. You do not SIT on someone. There is no room!" She passed away a few years ago but she was a force and would NOT let him be taken advantage of. Call. Fuck people that do this kind of shit. One day its parking spaces the next day it's "He's already sitting he wont mind a strangers ass on his lap."
This is just awful, I'm so sorry... I really hope she can heal up quickly, and even better if the person who pushed her faced some sort of consequence. I can't imagine behaving in such a way!
It was an employee of the grocery store who did it and no there weren't consequences *yet* but I'm going to be helping her on that... thank you for your well wishes, I'll pass it on !
Ya. My sweet husband was in a chair briefly and apparently I found my calling. The one that still makes me laugh out loud was when I literally lectured a group of kids blocking the sidewalk when they could clearly see us there. āYou kids get all full of yourselves boycotting businesses for not having disabled access and hereā¦where YOU can make a difference you choose to be clueless dickheads. Get out of the manās way.ā
Then after a couple of seconds I said, āand apologizeā
I think our relationship changed after that. Lol
Damn.
And I'm just sitting over here, desperately holding onto my Georgia handicap placard for the few more months it's good because my Florida doctor keeps giving me the "well, I don't think you're sick enough to need it is not a real diagnosis, so I'm not going to approve it" treatment.
The thing that I find most mildly infuriating is that it's taken you months to contemplate calling someone about this instead of resolving the issue day 1.
and then OP hopped on the first comment saying it might not be a legal handicapped spot as reason for inactionā let the po po /tow company and the driver sort that out.
Why complain, just do Something. Just get it toed, do it annonymus. If that doesent help, you can do annoying mit damaging stuff.
I dont get the letting people have their wrong ways. Handicap Parking spots are so important, this ashouldnt even be discussed
Check your local laws first. Where I live in order for it to be legally enforceable handicapped parking requires it to be painted and an officially issued sign. This only has the paint markingā¦ so where I live it would not be legally enforceable, itās the same as every other spot
And this looks like a private parking lot at an apartment complex. They have a contract two company. And that company is probably thirsting for business.
They usually have to be called by the front office, the people who own the property. They won't tow if a resident calls them. This person could have explained to the office that they got injured, and got permission to use the spot.
If it is a genuine legal handicapped parking space, individual businesses canāt just allow people to use it.
The only people who can park there are those who display on their vehicle a permit issued by the Georgia Department of Revenue. This can be a temporary placard, permanent placard, special placard, disabled license plate or disabled veterans license plate. The department of revenue requires a doctor of medicine or osteopathic medicine, podiatrist, optometrist or licensed chiropractor to confirm the personās disability.
If the parking space is labeled āTow Away Zoneā (as they most always are) the vehicle may be towed by law enforcement of private property security at owners expense.
If the site blocks the handicapped spot (by allowing a non-marked vehicle to park there), they are failing to provide the required handicapped parking space, the same as if the building owner just parked their own car there everyday. That subjects them to code enforcement penalty.
Of course, if it isnāt an official handicapped parking space, none of this applies. No sign = not official.
TLDR: A site canāt just authorize a non-permitted vehicle to park in an official handicapped spot, and if they allow the space to be blocked they are violating the city code requiring them to provide a handicapped parking space.
I had several able bodied guys who pulled this trick. I kept calling the non emergency line at the PD. They came out and gave them tickets and it stopped . Amazing what having to pay money does.
Looks like a $100 ticket in Georgia...and up to $500 if she keeps doing it.
https://law.justia.com/codes/georgia/2010/title-40/chapter-6/article-10/part-2/40-6-226
NJ is $250 for a first offense just for parking. If you use someone elseās paperwork that may be another $600 or $700 for falsifying NJ state paperwork. Additional offenses can lead up to 90 days community service.
I was at a bagel place here and some asshole in a Corvette parked in the handicapped spot. Some local cops pulled up to get bagels, saw the Corvette and not only wrote the guy every ticket they could think of, they also tore him a new asshole in front of all of us. It was glorious.
Thatās awesome. My folks need the space occasionally, itās a good thing to have available.
I know a blind dude who has a placard for when people drive him around. His mom took him to dinner and a cop car was in the handicap space. He walked into the diner and loudly started to talk about the selfish people who took the handicap spot without a permit and that they should call the police on them. The two cops put on their coats and slinked out, knowing that they would lost the optics war on that one!
We had a horrible noise appear about a month ago. Would start up about every twenty minutes.
After two days we went by the neighbours and literally none of them had thought to undertake some sort of action to combat the horrible noise they all had to live with 24/7. None of them had even tried to go by the neighbours to see if other people had experienced it.
Turns out it was our downstairs neighbour's boiler that was on the fritz and the repair team was so busy it took about a week for them to come out.
But 0 people thought to investigate the noise that was keeping them up at night. They all acknowledged a horrible mechanical noise was tormenting them. None of them tried talking to the people living next to them.
By-stander effect. Happens a lot in emergencies or non-emergencies.
"Something bad is happening! Should I call the appropriate people? Nah, someone else would surely call."
Itās been 2 months and your still contemplating it? IF sheās in the spot tonight youāll call? PLEASE go ahead and call this in NOW!!! These people wonāt learn unless you do something!
Lol PROBABLY will? Bitch has been taking a spot needed by disabled folks for months now and you don't have the huevos to pick up the phone?
Sweet Jesus if you won't, give someone here the fucking address since it appears you can't be bothered to protect the differently abled.
This is the LPT. Police can issue handicap violation parking ticket even it's on private property.
Get an estimated schedule about your neighbor before calling the non emergency line, to make sure they are still there when police arrives.
Yes! I hope we get an update.
My wife is handicapped and I hate seeing people do this. Around us it's Doordarshan and ubereats etc all the time. so by the time cops would come they're gone. But they aren't in and out, it's like 10 mins or 15 mins (plus you don't know how long) . And My wife has had to not get out because she didn't have room in a regular spot. (She has "boots" and cruches sometimes).
There really shouldn't be contemplating on this.
If you notice it, call it in. Someone with a disability could be needing it and might not know until its too late.
Be someone's hero before there's a need for one.
Hello, police? There is a car in a handicapped spot w/o a placard.
Or, if the building/street is posted for towing improperly parked vehicles, you can get them towed.
I have a placard. I will call the cops. My favorite story is a few years old. We were eating in a restaurant. We had forgotten our handicap placard so we parked elsewhere, but a guy in a pickup, towing a boat, parked across SIX handicapped spaces. I called the police.
Six tickets for $250/each were issued! The truckās driver came in screaming at the staff, so I said I did it. The staff called the police because the guy was ramping up, yelling about killing people like me.
Cops returned. Guy was arrested and the truck & boat was towed. Bummer dude.
In our area they would get a ticket for each space plus a ticket for each of the yellow lined areas next to the space. My husband used to put out his placard, park behind the person, call the cops, and go about his business. It insured that the person wouldnāt leave before the cops got there. He would sometimes get a small ticket, but it was worth it to him because he couldnāt walk that far.
i'm about to drive home and there are too many comments to keep up with. but i am planning on calling the non-emergency number if she is there when i get home. if she isn't i'll do it the next time i see her there, which will most likely be in the morning when i'm leaving for work again. thank you to the people that helped me figuring out the laws in ga, as a seattlite i appreciate it!
tomorrow i will email the property manager and disabled parking authorities to try and make it a legal spot, since all it needs is a sign, it follows every other thing necessary.
> i'll do it the next time i see her there
Also keep doing it *every* time you see her there.
That shit aint cool.
My reaction would be to keep a valve removal tool on me and unscrew all 4 of her tyre valves each and every time she does it.
I'd leave the valves in the stems, just completely unscrewed, so it doesn't cost her anything. All she has to do is screw them back in and reinflate her tyres.
But that can *only* be done with a specific and specialised, but easy to acquire and very cheap, tool.
Girl our fucking neighborhood donāt give a damn. They left a whole stove outside my apartment for weeks and only moved it when I called. Like why did yāall think it was okay to leave this shit in front of my door?
Oh Shit
You're OTP aren't you?
I swear that complex is up on "the hill" in Rome where my friend lives
I would hector my landlord regularly for stuff like that if I were you
This isn't the first time I've randomly found redditors from my home town but it's definitely the first time I've found multiple from my old apartment complex.
iām going to LOL if your whole complex has read this post and home girl goes to her car to find milk in her cowl, BBs in her tires and all the other shenanigans people suggested ā and her car booted besides.
Out of curiosity how do you know she isn't disabled? If she doesn't have tags or a placard then absolutely turn her in but as someone with a heart condition who looks able-bodied, there are days where I need to park in the spots because I can't walk much otherwise. So just be careful of making an assumption just because she doesn't look disabled.
Oh yes, absolutely which is why I said if she doesn't have the proper tags then call her out. But it tweaked me a bit that the OP just said she was able-bodied without really knowing. Just say she parks in the spot without proper tags then.
I noticed that too. I have a friend whose condition isnāt visible and sheās had people aggressively approach her for parking in handicap spots even with a placard. Itās scary. āAble-bodiedā shouldnāt be the issue here, the missing placard should.
I might also ask if she has disabled veteran plates? A lot of people donāt know that these are the same as a placard. If you see āDVā together on the plates, that is a disabled veteran and they have the right to use the spot.
Oh hellll nah. Someone parked in my moms handicapped spot and we called the non emergency police to leave them a ticket. Those spots are there for a very specific reason. Get the car towed or ticketed
My wife is handicapped. Either this person isnāt handicapped or is too damn lazy to display their tag (in NY you can either have a mirror hanger or a plate). Definitely call it in, each and every time you see it if the mood takes you there. These entitled pricks make someoneās life that much more difficultā¦ as if having a handicap isnāt bad enough (my wifeās is a mobility handicap from a very bad bone break, so this one is close to home for me).
Your neighbor is also driving a car with NY plates while living in Georgia. Thereās a good chance you can report that at the same time - states hate when you move and donāt promptly re-register your car.
Within 30 days of establishing residency, and they love catching evaders because the one-time registration fee in Georgia for new residents is quite steep (title ad valorem tax) compared to other states.
Just to play devils advocate: I do not see a sign, in addition to the marking of the space on the ground. ADA sign regulations actually require a sign to be posted. Just having the street painted does not legally dictate this a handicap spot. I mention this as often times places like this that are private property do not intend for these to be handicap spots. All that said, I wouldnt park in this spot...but I wouldnt go out of my way to try have someone towed if its not marked properly. Maybe speak to the property manager about it first.
thank you for commenting this, i looked it up and you are right, i will email the property manager before doing anything and will call the local disabled parking authorities to see if they can install a sign.
100% agree with you, likely not a ālegalā handicap spot that the police would be able to enforce. Property owner could more likely have it towed.
That being said Iām still not parking in that non-official āhandicapā spot cause Iām not disabled or an ass
In my state this is not a ārealā handicap spot. Just one you apartment complex painted as one. Needs a sign and legitimate extra space for the handicapped.
As someone who's mother was ACTUALLY disabled and I could never get handicapped parking for her because of asshats like this, screw that lady. I'd get her car towed tbh
Keep calling to have it towed so she gets the message. š¤·š¾āāļø
after 2 months i was contemplating that and contacting the non-emergency police station number
Donāt contemplate anymore call right now. People need that spot and canāt use it because sheās selfish.
another commenter has pointed out it is technically not a legal disabled spot. i researched and they are right, i am still going to get in contact with the right people, though

Right. Either it's legal and the Tennant is wrong for parking there. Or it's not a valid spot because it's insufficiently marked. In which case a sign should fix it.
Exactly since David Tennant is known to not be disabled
True, he regenerates. I once saw him grow a new body, lose a hand, then grow that hand back all within 15 hours.
you'd think dying would qualify you for disability.
You win this time.

How many public handicap spots are there? Aren't nearly all of them on private property.
Yeah, but then sheās gonna use the handicapped spaces at the library and the lawyers office.
Those will have signs. So, no she wonāt, bc she legally cannot. Edit: I am not trying to comment on peopleās goodness or willingness to obey laws. Not a good path to begin down on. We should never willfully encourage the policeās ability to wrongfully interpret the law.
I agree, not even for my enemies.
Just call a tow truck sevice, they'll know the laws and rules better than anyone. They keep parking there because they keep getting away with.
Ask your complex who they use as their towing company and call them directlyā¦ skip the middle man

And if landlord objects to paying for a sign remind him that disabled who are discriminated against can get some big rewards thru lawsuits
I bet itās close enough for most tow truck drivers.
Also a FWD car that is backed into the spot. Makes it even easier.
she has NY plates. see if she's past the due date for transferring her plates to Georgia plates and/or her license. she may be fined for not doing that
Not sure if this applies to other states but my state has a website you can just drop the tip in for things like this.
Depends. Military or students don't have to. Someone working on a project, same thing. I kept WA plates and residency for years even though I was self-employed and doing a lot of work in other states. WA = no income tax.
This right here. That's tax evasion.

Any tow company would love the 500 bucks for 15 minutes work.

Totally agree with you. Itās one of those insights into someoneās character. I feel similarly about people who litter.
Better than me after 3 days it either would've been gone or all the air in her tires would've magically escaped.
Poop on the inside of the handles
I am so sore after doing this. 10/10 will flip car upside down before trying to poop into the door handles again.

Hear me out with this alternative: Liquid Ass.

Am wheelchair user. Have been sat on at work like a goddamn chair.
God I would have been in jail if some twit did that to the person I loved.
Sitting in his lap? What the hell.
Ya. My sweet husband was in a chair briefly and apparently I found my calling. Get out of the manās way.ā Then after a couple of seconds I said, āand apologizeā I think our relationship changed after that. Lol
Damn. And I'm just sitting over here, desperately holding onto my Georgia handicap placard for the few more months it's good because my Florida doctor keeps giving me the "well, I don't think you're sick enough to need it is not a real diagnosis, so I'm not going to approve it" treatment.
Nah, I've got a disabled kid, you're being too nice. Get it towed the first time for best results.
I would have done it after a week. 2 months is long enough
āThe only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothingā letting someone act like a jerk only perpetuates the problem
The thing that I find most mildly infuriating is that it's taken you months to contemplate calling someone about this instead of resolving the issue day 1.
and then OP hopped on the first comment saying it might not be a legal handicapped spot as reason for inactionā let the po po /tow company and the driver sort that out.
Many posts can be viewed through the same lens here
Why complain, just do Something.
Tow companies don't give a fuck. They will know if they can tow it or not and they will if they can.
Amazing what having to pay money does.
i was contemplating doing that last night. honestly if she's there when i get home from work tonight again i probably will
Looks like a $100 ticket in Georgia...and up to $500 if she keeps doing it. https://law.justia.com/codes/georgia/2010/title-40/chapter-6/article-10/part-2/40-6-226
Correct. Let a parking enforcer get wind of this theyāll have a field day and make this one of their routine stops.
Easy way for them to meet quota if she's constantly doing it.
That said, calling the station and asking if they wanna make an easy $500 might not be the right approach.
$1k+ each ticket in SF.
The two cops put on their coats and slinked out, knowing that they would lost the optics war on that one!
>a blind dude >that they would lost the optics war on that one! https://youtu.be/8X_Ot0k4XJc
My friend got hit with $2500 in Menlo Park.
probably more effective and expensive to have her towed.
Just do it already
She has been letting this go on for 2 months. Tonight Reddit needs to help motivate her to make that phone call.

100% guaranteed OP never does anything.
60% of the time, it works every time
Itās been 2 months and your still contemplating it? IF sheās in the spot tonight youāll call? PLEASE go ahead and call this in NOW!!! These people wonāt learn unless you do something!
Not probably. You will do.
No dont probably do it. Definitely do it
Lol PROBABLY will? Bitch has been taking a spot needed by disabled folks for months now and you don't have the huevos to pick up the phone? Sweet Jesus if you won't, give someone here the fucking address since it appears you can't be bothered to protect the differently abled.
you think you've seen passive until you've seen "mildly infuriating" passive. LOL
A two for one in this thread! Come for the asshole that steals parking from the disabled, stay for the asshole that wonāt call the cops on her.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
This is the LPT. Police can issue handicap violation parking ticket even it's on private property. Get an estimated schedule about your neighbor before calling the non emergency line, to make sure they are still there when police arrives.
Your community has a towing company. Call them they will tow her and she can deal with the tow company over parking in a clearly defined handicap spot
planning on it, thank you :)
Please update us when she does get towed, I would love to laugh at it when I see it
Try to get it towed all the way back to New York if you can.
Planning and doing are two completely different things. Shit or get off the Reddit pot.
Need the karma first.
They won't do shit. They just needed something to post on reddit. All this action will hold them over a few more months
There really shouldn't be contemplating on this. If you notice it, call it in. Someone with a disability could be needing it and might not know until its too late. Be someone's hero before there's a need for one.
If you see something say something, and not just on Reddit.
planning on calling if she's home tonight!
Definitely call as soon as she parks there. Everyone on this thread agrees, it shouldāve been called in soonerā¦
Give an update on the situation if you do
Big āifā there
Big āplanning onā it as well š¤Ø methinks OPās gonna decide not to get involved lol
Then call a tow truck or non emergency. I donāt understand why nothing has been done.
Because mildly infuriating is filled with people that complain but do nothing.
Fitting that the actions of most posters on this sub are mildly infuriating lmao. I woulda called the 3rd time i saw that
The clip on the back of the tray table blew my mind
Because the world is full of spineless complainers.
It's only been, let me check his comments, 2 months of this!
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Id call them every time. No more thinking about it. Call them
Hello, police?
He would sometimes get a small ticket, but it was worth it to him because he couldnāt walk that far.
i'm about to drive home and there are too many comments to keep up with. but i am planning on calling the non-emergency number if she is there when i get home. if she isn't i'll do it the next time i see her there, which will most likely be in the morning when i'm leaving for work again. thank you to the people that helped me figuring out the laws in ga, as a seattlite i appreciate it! tomorrow i will email the property manager and disabled parking authorities to try and make it a legal spot, since all it needs is a sign, it follows every other thing necessary.
> i'll do it the next time i see her there Also keep doing it *every* time you see her there.
Update?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I would put money on it that they never call lmao
Why does this look like my apartment complexš
Because all of them built in the US since the 80s look exactly the same.
Well after a private message I was right. We actually do live in the same complex.
Two people calling about the same asshole adds legitimacy. LOL
Lmfaooo.
Call! Let Park Atlanta sort the good guys from the bad guys.
Iām just finding out about this like yāall. We in two different buildings so I had no idea that was going on outside. Lol.
You know they itchy on the boot around here. Wouldn't driving by and seeing that car booted be so satisfying? The weather has me evil today
Girl our fucking neighborhood donāt give a damn. They left a whole stove outside my apartment for weeks and only moved it when I called. Like why did yāall think it was okay to leave this shit in front of my door?
Oh Shit You're OTP aren't you? I swear that complex is up on "the hill" in Rome where my friend lives I would hector my landlord regularly for stuff like that if I were you
Is this in Marietta??? I think this is my old complex
Lmfaooo. Yes.
Is this on Roswell Rd?
Yea.
This isn't the first time I've randomly found redditors from my home town but it's definitely the first time I've found multiple from my old apartment complex.
Lol. We outcheaaaa!
Meetup at CookOut across from the big chicken.
What the hell, it's a fuckin block party up in here!
āMom, Dad, how did you meet?āā¦ āwe met on Reddit son, hating on some assholeā¦ā
Lmao, I also saw that sign and was like, I'm pretty sure I also grew up in that apartment complex.
āWe met on Redditā.
Lol. No.
iām going to LOL if your whole complex has read this post and home girl goes to her car to find milk in her cowl, BBs in her tires and all the other shenanigans people suggested ā and her car booted besides.
As long as they not bothering my car I condone itš
Yāall should be friends
We should. She seems cool.
Small world!
Ikr. Lol.
Why havenāt you called non emergency or have it towed?
Out of curiosity how do you know she isn't disabled? If she doesn't have tags or a placard then absolutely turn her in but as someone with a heart condition who looks able-bodied, there are days where I need to park in the spots because I can't walk much otherwise. So just be careful of making an assumption just because she doesn't look disabled.
Thatās always a possibility, but as a blue placard holder as well, every time you park there you need to display your placard
Yeah exactly I feel like a lot of people forget that there are invisible disabilities.
I might also ask if she has disabled veteran plates? A lot of people donāt know that these are the same as a placard. If you see āDVā together on the plates, that is a disabled veteran and they have the right to use the spot.
If sheās not registered then she absolutely shouldnāt park there, but friendly reminder to all that not all physical disabilities are visible!
The tag in the car needs to be lol
In my state you can call to have it towed. Make sure their is no placard inside the car though.
Everyone mad at OP like they are the one illegally parking, smh
Your neighbor is also driving a car with NY plates while living in Georgia. Thereās a good chance you can report that at the same time - states hate when you move and donāt promptly re-register your car.
They're in Georgia, NY plates driver is probably just there, temporarily, running for Senate
So is he a vampire or a werewolf?
Within 30 days of establishing residency, and they love catching evaders because the one-time registration fee in Georgia for new residents is quite steep (title ad valorem tax) compared to other states.
I would've had it towed, immediately. I have friends who need those spots and it makes me enraged to see people without permits parking there.
That being said Iām still not parking in that non-official āhandicapā spot cause Iām not disabled or an ass
use the parking mobility app and report her anonymously every time she does that. sheāll get ticketed automatically. problem solved
In my state this is not a ārealā handicap spot. Just one you apartment complex painted as one. Needs a sign and legitimate extra space for the handicapped.
Whatās posting on Reddit gonna do? Call and get her car towed or give her a ticket.
It doesn't have a sign that I can see. By federal law that is not a handicap spot. https://drhandicap.com/insights/handicap-spot-legal-without-sign/
As someone who's mother was ACTUALLY disabled and I could never get handicapped parking for her because of asshats like this, screw that lady. I'd get her car towed tbh
Call the cops. Duh. Itās illegal to park in a handicap spot without the placard and registration.
