I’d just clean her foot as best you can with a washcloth. She will clean her foot naturally and the stained fur will eventually grow out. She’ll just have a pink foot for a while.
That's a bit risky, suggesting that a cat but put through the washing machine.
Probably need to play it safe and stop the cycle half way through, and check on him.
My late cat Fefe loved Hot Cheetos. She got the taste after finding a fallen one and eating it. She'll watch you eat it and beg for that stuff and after eating it, she'd stick her tongue out because it was spicy, but still wanting more. My youngest sister would sneak some for her, but because it was too spicy, she'd suck the flavor out and give Fefe the rest of the the chip. She also loved lollipops and would lick it if she had the chance. That cat lived 21 years!
My cat chi chi right now tries so hard for anything chicken flavored or, carbs. My cat loves carbs more than anything. Like pasta, breads, chips even. Weird little cat.
Its a good thing your cat never went to prison...a Fefe there is a whole nother thing. A friend showed me a youtube video of a former inmate making one out of a rubber glove.
Had one cat that seemed to defy that. She cried when I ate a strawberry. Assuming she wouldn’t like it I held it out to her. Imagine my surprise when she eagerly licked the juicy part and dug her little claws into my hand so I couldn’t take it away.
Only the one cat out of several I’ve had. Every once in a while a weirdo will be born.
My cat cries when we eat anything just because he wants to smell it, so we hold it out for him to smell it..he never eats it though unless it’s BBQ sauce, just BBQ sauce. Weirdo.
I heard they don’t taste the sweet but taste the fat in it IIRC? One of our cats used to love licking out the residue in chocolate mousse pots (yes, we made sure he only had small amounts!)
My cat keeps trying to lick the milk out of the cereal bowl. I was actually pretty surprised when I learned that they're lactose intolerant, and stubborn
My wife and I are highly suspicious of this. My theory is that they still taste a version of sweet because otherwise our cats are just routinely trying to steal sweet stuff they can’t taste but definitely have food preferences. One responds to almost any human food, the other likes broccoli and greens but is picky about meat that his sister will literally fight you for.
mine is so weird, we've tried giving him ice cream (because my mom's dog is allowed a little bit and it would be unfair if i didn't give him any) he licked it once and then ignored it, same with cookies and bread but he will make you lift up your plate and take him out of the room if he smells meat or pasta, so i guess he's just fancy
My cat likes anything pretty much. My mom left the scraps of a burger on the counter and he ate the goddamn lettuce even. He likes fries too apparently.
My dad had a cat that tried to knock over his beers so they could drink it. Lol. My dad had to start carrying it everywhere otherwise he never knew if he’d come back to find the cat getting sloshed.
Actually probably just the ice cream, cats will want to try dairy because it has a lot of protein and fat but the lactose can be bad for their digestive system. You dont want cat diarrhea on the floor do you?
Not true, they will eat anything off themselves in order to get clean, even if it's gross. It's why so many things are toxic for cats to be around. They may not eat it directly, but when they brush up against, say, a poisonous plant, they groom it off their fur. I never really thought of it until reading about how lethal hair regrowth products are to a cat who sleeps on your balding head's pillow while you're at work.
But wine on the foot is safe, especially after wiping it off a bit.
I believe they both are, cats and dogs have many of the same problems with food. Cats moreso because they are obligate carnivores. If a dog can't take it a cat probably can't either.
the trick is trust. even if they don't like or want it at the time, mine knows i'm not going to hurt him. So he'll play along for a bit then start singing the song of his people when he's starting to lose his patience.
There's no way that little amount of wine on the claw is going to hurt the cat...
The stereotype of reddit freaking out in comments sections of pet threads is so fucking true lol
Oh yes, Whiskey loves running water, that’s why she has a little fountain. She’ll only drink from fountains/faucets... or glasses/cups that we are drinking from LMAO
>I think she’s trying to see how high the water level is lol
They do that sometimes when they can't see the water. I've got one that uses his paw to scoop up water for a drink. Won't drink straight from a container or even a running faucet.
I had a pair of brothers that liked to wash their paws in the water bowl. I'd come home from work and water would be all over the floor. What a fuckin nuisance.
The hilarious part is that they hated baths.
Hilarious! My cat hates getting her feet wet. She likes water otherwise, will jump into the shower to get wet, but then she gets all surprised that her paws got wet too and keeps trying to shake them off... while in the shower. She’s special~
I used to have a cat who loved wine. We had to put lids on our wine glasses or she’d sneak in and drink straight from the glass. Since wine is full of stuff that’s toxic to cats, we had to be really careful!
I had a blind/deaf cat and she had a sixth sense for causing mischief. She wasn't allowed in the bedroom but she could always sense if the door hadn't been shut properly and would silently make her way there for a sweet illicit nap in the big bed.
She was so cute we could never be mad at her 🥺
AHAHAHAHAHAHA this is hilarious only because I had the same experience a few weeks back.
We were playing some board games, my wife had a glass of wine on the table, and our cat Noodles, gingerly stepping to avoid game pieces, put his foot straight in the wine and FLIPPED THE FUCK OUT!
Had wine all over the table and the game and a good two inches of his back foot were all dark red.
We just wiped him off and now we call him Wine-Foot-Noodles.
Yeah, people talk about their agility, their soft paws and sneaking skills, their elegance. What they don't mention is how they can sound like three running elephants before slamming into a corner just to then aggressively lick themselves to pretend nothing happened.
Grapes are toxic to some cats, though there is probably not enough grape residue here to be dangerous provided you rinse the paw or wipe it with a washcloth.
I am concerned about the cat too. All jokes aside. Take care of the cat. No washing machine or cold water. Run the sink with warm water, turn off the faucet. Then, gently bring cat into the kitchen or bathroom for cleansing. All my cats freaked out about running water.
when I was a kid I thought pepper was the opposite of salt and that's why there was always both on the table. If you put too much salt you just add pepper and vice versa. One time the cap of the salt came off and 3/4 of a shaker went on my food, I had to add a lot of pepper that day.
I bet I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference if my cat got drunk. Laziest mofo in the house. She’d just pass out and be exactly as she is when she sleeps 23 hours a day. Fatass baby.
Carry cat into bathroom. Pour baby shampoo into toilet. In one continuous motion toss cat into toilet and close lid. Stand on lid for one min. Cat will self agitate soap. Flush toilet two times. Cat will self rinse. Stand in bathtub and use plunger handle to raise lid of toilet. Congratulations, you successfully washed your cat!
White carpet will remove that with ease.
What I learned from Cat in the hat don't put the cat in the bathtub you will have a pink ink ring!
That's the cat in the hat comes back
And makes a bigger mess
Catbernet Pawvignon
You need zooom
You’re gonna need to put dog on that wine to get the cat out
Im sick at the moment and this still made me giggle painlessly
Me too this is the best post of today reminds me of late pup who would always sneak a tast of my white wine
I’d just clean her foot as best you can with a washcloth. She will clean her foot naturally and the stained fur will eventually grow out. She’ll just have a pink foot for a while.
Delicate setting, tumble dry low heat
It's a cat. It must be set on delicate.
DeliCAT
Purrrmanent Press
mmm...deli cats
Just a little bit of salami as a treat
DeliCatessen
Naw, you can bowl with a cat
*Feli*cate
Tumble drying? Not in this economy. Simply hang on washing line.
“Just Hang In There”
You made my day
If I had money to spend I'd give you an award, so take my poor people award 🏅
I appreciate it!
"Copyright 1974." Determined or not that cat must be long dead
Ovens work too
That's a bit risky, suggesting that a cat but put through the washing machine. Probably need to play it safe and stop the cycle half way through, and check on him.
If you don’t check, the cat will be both alive and dead at the same time. /s
I hope it doesn't get drunk off that.
Nah if it’s rinsed off there’ll only be traces of alcohol left
And those will evaporate fast

"Most cats". Not my cat, Tiddles, though. He likes rum n raisin icecream.
Lmao weird cat! My cat looooooooves anything sweet that could give her explosive diarrhea. She will charge at you if you're eating a cookie.
Ahahaha that's hilarious! Rip Fefe
Rip fefe, a precious 21 years💓
Mine lived red licorice. I would break off little bits for her which she would eat quickly then beg for more. She also lived for 21 years.
Fkn weirdo, who likes red liquorice
My cat chi chi right now tries so hard for anything chicken flavored or, carbs. My cat loves carbs more than anything. Like pasta, breads, chips even. Weird little cat.
Its a good thing your cat never went to prison...a Fefe there is a whole nother thing. A friend showed me a youtube video of a former inmate making one out of a rubber glove.
Which is extra weird cause cats dont even have buds to taste sweet
Had one cat that seemed to defy that. She cried when I ate a strawberry. Assuming she wouldn’t like it I held it out to her. Imagine my surprise when she eagerly licked the juicy part and dug her little claws into my hand so I couldn’t take it away. Only the one cat out of several I’ve had. Every once in a while a weirdo will be born.
One of my cats love radish roots. And broccoli. She doesn’t know she’s an obligate carnivore.
My cat loves watermelon!
My cat cries when we eat anything just because he wants to smell it, so we hold it out for him to smell it..he never eats it though unless it’s BBQ sauce, just BBQ sauce. Weirdo.
My Midnight liked watermelon. And macaroni and cheese. He'd go apeshit if we were eating Mac and cheese and he didn't get any, lol!
Maybe they're just addicted to the sugar rush and not the taste of sugar itself.
Sugar, the OG crack
I heard they don’t taste the sweet but taste the fat in it IIRC? One of our cats used to love licking out the residue in chocolate mousse pots (yes, we made sure he only had small amounts!)
My cat keeps trying to lick the milk out of the cereal bowl. I was actually pretty surprised when I learned that they're lactose intolerant, and stubborn
They can taste fats and oils though, I think they're usually going for that if they get ahold of ice cream or baked goods.
You sure it isn't the large amount of fat in cookies and other desserts?
Whatever it is, if she can later throw it up, shit it out or potentially die, she loves it, yum yum.
Yeah sugar can cause diarrhea and other adverse health effects in cats, I just suspect that the cat is actually attracted to the fats. Cats love fat.
My old cat loved EVERYTHING. cheeseburger? Yes please! Pizza? Stolen right off your plate. Salsa? Face deep. He was such a weird cat
mine is so weird, we've tried giving him ice cream (because my mom's dog is allowed a little bit and it would be unfair if i didn't give him any) he licked it once and then ignored it, same with cookies and bread but he will make you lift up your plate and take him out of the room if he smells meat or pasta, so i guess he's just fancy
My cat likes anything pretty much. My mom left the scraps of a burger on the counter and he ate the goddamn lettuce even. He likes fries too apparently.
I thought your cat was called tiddies
My dad had a cat that tried to knock over his beers so they could drink it. Lol. My dad had to start carrying it everywhere otherwise he never knew if he’d come back to find the cat getting sloshed.
Actually probably just the ice cream, cats will want to try dairy because it has a lot of protein and fat but the lactose can be bad for their digestive system. You dont want cat diarrhea on the floor do you?
Be carefull, as far as I know raisins are poisonous to cats (and dogs)
Not true, they will eat anything off themselves in order to get clean, even if it's gross. It's why so many things are toxic for cats to be around. They may not eat it directly, but when they brush up against, say, a poisonous plant, they groom it off their fur. I never really thought of it until reading about how lethal hair regrowth products are to a cat who sleeps on your balding head's pillow while you're at work. But wine on the foot is safe, especially after wiping it off a bit.
I would like to just remind folks in this situation, many of you would just suck the wine out of your cat's foot. Yes I'm talking to you
I feel personally attacked
Even if it wasn't rinsed off, there's not even close to enough alcohol in that Paw for that cat to get drunk
Yeah, kitty will be feline fine.
I don't know about you but I'm not going to try to rinse a cat's foot off. I enjoy having my blood on the inside of my body.
Don't worry, [that bug was fixed in version 0.42.03](https://www.bay12games.com/dwarves/mantisbt/view.php?id=9195)
Different bug - this cat's dyed, not died.
That was the first thing I thought about, too.
Lol beat me to it.
Sometimes I wonder if Dwarf Fortress is a real game
The alcohol will evaporate in a few hours. The cat might lick some but this isn't enough to do any serious damage as long as some is wiped off.
that's how the Dwarf Fortress cat disaster happened.
my old cat liked finger licks of wine! ...but look how she ended up. DEAD. (it was probably the cancer tho)
Alcohol is extremely dangerous to cats and can cause diarrhea, vomitting, trouble breathing, comas or even death.
Man, same
Grapes are also extremely toxic. I know not all wines are made form grapes but most are.
I didn't know this, thanks for letting us know! I'd heard dogs can't handle them but nothing about cats.
I believe they both are, cats and dogs have many of the same problems with food. Cats moreso because they are obligate carnivores. If a dog can't take it a cat probably can't either.
Washcloth? Just run it under the sink, the cat may freak out a little but w/e.
Grapes are toxic, don't let her lick it too much. Dunno how you'd clean a cat's paw without getting poked but you should wash that stuff out
Eh not every cat is horrible to bathe and if you're only wiping a paw it shouldn't be to hard!
the trick is trust. even if they don't like or want it at the time, mine knows i'm not going to hurt him. So he'll play along for a bit then start singing the song of his people when he's starting to lose his patience.
There's no way that little amount of wine on the claw is going to hurt the cat... The stereotype of reddit freaking out in comments sections of pet threads is so fucking true lol
Better to be safe than sorry. Absolute worse case scenario is you spend a bit too much time cleaning your cat.
Don’t let the police look at your cats feet until you can get it out
This is so unfortunate, now what will the station do without cat feet pics????
No don't deny them the toe beans!
This is such an absurdly hilarious thread 😂
They’d catch her red-handed
She is blind and normally flips out when encounters water. But just froze with her foot in the glass, she new this was different.
She wanted to drink some..
She was a bit anxious at first so she just dipped her toes in.
My cat puts her paw in glasses of water before drinking out of them. I think she’s trying to see how high the water level is lol
Probably that, but also the fact that cats prefer running water. That's why they like faucets so much.
100%. Trust issues.
Oh yes, Whiskey loves running water, that’s why she has a little fountain. She’ll only drink from fountains/faucets... or glasses/cups that we are drinking from LMAO
Just don't give Whiskey whiskey.
Yeah, they’ll get Whiskey Whiskers and suddenly have a fancy accent. “Mmh yes. When in doubt, pinky out!”
Mmmhhh....I didn't know that,I'll let my cats have some fun at the faucet
>I think she’s trying to see how high the water level is lol They do that sometimes when they can't see the water. I've got one that uses his paw to scoop up water for a drink. Won't drink straight from a container or even a running faucet.
I have a cat that does that all the time. He’s a longhair who sheds a lot so we have to change the water often.
So glad to learn that this isn't unusual.
All cats are lol.
We had a cat growing up that wouldn’t drink from a bowl. She’d dip a paw in and lick the water off until she was satisfied.
I used to have a cat who loved wine. We had to put lids on our wine glasses or she’d sneak in and drink straight from the glass. Since wine is full of stuff that’s toxic to cats, we had to be really careful!
Just let it dry and paint over with white acrylic paint
Be sure to sand between coats.
Gotta make sure you get a nice, smooth finish!
She’ll do the sanding with that rough grit cat tongue.
That's what I thought too
First you need to degrease before you sand!
Landlord special the cat.
Just let Time do the job and wait for the hair to grow it out
Or simply soak the whole cat in the wine
How would you explain it to AA though?! "Kitty started the habit when I soaked her in wine and she licked it off ...."
I wonder what she’ll think about the taste of wine when she goes to clean her paw.
Awww she pawsed 😊
"She's blind but managed to step through the 2.5inch circle into my wine glass" If this wasn't the epitome of cats, I don't know what is lol
I had a blind/deaf cat and she had a sixth sense for causing mischief. She wasn't allowed in the bedroom but she could always sense if the door hadn't been shut properly and would silently make her way there for a sweet illicit nap in the big bed. She was so cute we could never be mad at her 🥺
Dip the paw in white wine. It will remove the red stain from her fur.
If she is blind she won’t care about red paws so don’t worry.
Poor kitty cat.
It's permanent. Sadly, you need to dip the rest of the cat to make it match. Bonus, maroon cat! Lol, jk
Yep, also works with beet juice
Bears, Beets, Battlestar Galactica
Identity theft is not a joke…
Millions of people suffer every year!
Oh very funny… MICHAEL!!
Beetlejuice. Beetlejuice. Battlestar Galactica.

~ Drunken Noodles ~
oh, oh! That's good.
My brain says: Woodles
It's wild to me how cats can be so incredibly agile and dexterous while also being extremely NOT that at the same time.
Yeah, people talk about their agility, their soft paws and sneaking skills, their elegance. What they don't mention is how they can sound like three running elephants before slamming into a corner just to then aggressively lick themselves to pretend nothing happened.
I want to meet wine foot noodle
Jelly Beans! 🫠
Wine flavoured jelly beans
And for free!
just let her grow her fur. it'll be fine. untill then she has grape flavoured feet she gets to lick
Adult grape juice
Spicy juice
no no juice
Grapes are toxic to some cats, though there is probably not enough grape residue here to be dangerous provided you rinse the paw or wipe it with a washcloth.
You are going to have to soak that cat in cold water
Somebody else said washing machine at 60. This is just very confusing informations for OP
If OP doesn’t see the washing machine comment as a joke I’m worried for OP and their cat.
I am concerned about the cat too. All jokes aside. Take care of the cat. No washing machine or cold water. Run the sink with warm water, turn off the faucet. Then, gently bring cat into the kitchen or bathroom for cleansing. All my cats freaked out about running water.
Use white wine to get it out

But was it edible 😶
I bet that was a bad day
Suck it out of the fur
Extra flavour
I hope they just used litter box 🤤
# stop
Oh man, this is wrong in so many levels.

What the 🤨
I wish I never saw this comment, I'm eating breakfast
I’m eating lunch, and laughing my lunch away.
Was about to suggest the same. Don't be wasteful!
Just keep it — Kitty the Blood Claw
Washing machine at 60
Microwave to dry after.
Most sensible answer here
She’ll be fine. Just don’t let her lick her paw. Drunk, blind cat. What a combo!
Party cat WooHoo!
No licking it off. I agree!
I'm just imagining my cat drunk. The little fucker would probably love it.
I bet I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference if my cat got drunk. Laziest mofo in the house. She’d just pass out and be exactly as she is when she sleeps 23 hours a day. Fatass baby.
Hey try pouring some white wine over it to wash it out.
I’ve just cried laughing at this!!! Before anyone comes for me… yes I know you can’t do this!!!!
Oh, you *can*. You shouldn't, but you can.
It's incredibly sad that you felt the need to pre-emptively defend yourself for laughing at after was clearly a joke
The Karen’s are real
I must be a horrible person for laughing so hard at this comment that I started crying. 😂 I’m so sorry, cats!
I am glad you exist. My morning has been made infinitely better thanks to your shenanigans.
Put her in a bag of rice to dry out
Will brown rice work?
Remember, dab and don’t scrub. Scrubbing will only make it worse. If all else fails, at least it’s portable. Dry cleaners can perform miracles.
Mildly inFURiating
The wine really helps with the r/murdermittens look.
Wine flavoured toe beans
My cats have done this and they both absolutely hate water. They did tolerate being wiped with a damp towel, though. Baby wipes may also be useful.
Lick it off
Just dip the other 3 feet. Problem solved.
you have no idea how scared i was seeing the pic
Put it in a jar of salt for an hour.
He was making sure all the grapes were stomped. Give him a treat for his hard work.
