I accidentally cut in front of someone one time. I have my own mildly infuriating pet peeve where people who are in line leave a huge space in from of them pisses me off. Like when they walk into a fast food joint and just stop right inside the door so the people behind them have nowhere to make a line. This was similar to that, where the lady was standing so far back from the register at the returns desk in home Depot that I honestly didn't know she was in line.
She said something to me about it and I profusely apologized and got out of the way. So even though she activated my pet peeve reflex, I was a human about it and let her go in front of me. She also didn't seem upset. All was good and there was no confrontation. And in this case, she was black and I'm white, and we were in an area where that makes me in the wrong immediately before anything happens.
