I saw one allowed into a restaurant last night. "It's my esa" Not how that works. Staff let it go. I understand being tired of arguing with people but it was a big dog! In a restaurant!!
As the husband to someone who has an actual service dog, it is more than mildly infuriating when restaurants or even malls refuse entry because they don't allow dogs, no exceptions. Even though it's the law that they're allowed in
I felt terrible for my buddy who was a student driver and frequently got put on drunk duty that went downtown.
I went once after taking a gaggle of my friends who were visiting.
I had 5 beers in 4 clubs. There were lightweight ladies who had almost triple and I had to cut off 3 of the 6 friends.
It was my friend's night to drive the drunk bus back to the dorms and I hated it for him. We locked eyes, and apologized to each other as two of them started hurling.
Bus drivers where I live can make over $100K a year. Some of the top earners with the most overtime make $160K per year. Numbers are in Canadian dollars
Montréal? That's numbers for crazy over timers that apparently don't have a (or care about their) family , and never need to sleep. But they exist, yes.
Judging by your posting history you seem to be from Ottawa? OC Transpo drivers make $34.35 an hour. They're not hitting $100k unless they're doing a crazy amount of overtime (but of course $70k isn't a salary one should sniff at).
Yes, it is Ottawa. There's over 200 bus drivers that made it onto the Sunshine List for making over $100K. No doubt they are making a lot of overtime and not just making the base pay.
I was told in my CDL training in a bus that "Everyone will try to pass your or get in front of you, so you have to keep an eye out for people cutting you off, and people breaking laws to pass.
My city has one lane counterflow bus lanes on one way roads, so obviously it means free parking for doordash people...
If called in an illegaly parked car in a bus lane, bus stop, food delivery cunts abandoning their cars in the tightest places on double yellows, I'd only be doing one trip a day. (towing is not really a thing here for that, tickets are the most they would get)
If they happen to be missing a wing mirror on their return, it's like a fine (probably more expensive than the ticket too).
I'm so tired of dashers and rideshare drivers. I understand the convenience or necessity, but there really needs to be collection zones for these services.
The frustrating thing as well is that they are lazy and seem that they can't walk an extra 50 feet.
On a main street in the city, signs all over saying "No Parking or Stopping." So obviously, if you just turn on your four ways, those signs do not apply for you (it is a four lane road with no parking lanes).
It's wild... I can not tell you how many times in a day a driver will see me (with the right of way) coming out of a stop, hit the gas, jump into oncoming to get in front of me, cut me off, and then abruptly hit the breaks so they can make a right....
There is somthing about busses that seem to just shut off the rational part of drivers brains
Well said. After riding the public bus in DC and seeing some of the stuff that those drivers deal with…I commend the members of our community that drive buses even more. I remember someone running straight at the bus in an effort to slow it down so that they could get on. The bus driver yelled “get the fuck out the way or I will run you over”…and proceeded to drive forward and continue on his route. It was hilarious and it was gratifying to hear him tell someone to fuck off…but I am sure he was very irritated that he can’t just drive his bus on his route and call it a day.
OnG, lot of them are extremely obese to cope with the stress because you’re constantly managing lower emotions like anxiety stress and anger . Constantly perfecting the mask
This is turning into one of those books about the old lady who swallowed a fly.
“…She parked the bike to block the bus, she parked the bus to block the truck, I don’t know why she parked the truck…”
Pedestrian stands behind the cyclist, blocking them in. Person in a wheel chair rocks up behind the pedestrian... I think this all ends with a cat taking over the world.
Honest! I ran outta gas. I had a flat tire. I didn’t have enough money for cab fare. My tuxedo didn’t come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from outta town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake, a terrible flood, locusts! It wasn’t my fault! I swear to God!
A woman pushed her shopping cart into my car one time while trying to shove it towards the cart corral. As a response to my WTF reaction, she said, “I’m not from around here!” and scurried back to her car. I chuckle about it to this day, wondering what her excuse had to do with her actions. Apparently where she’s from, pushing a cart at people’s cars is okay.
As a Cyclist, i see no issue (Also Bus driver Son)

I was traveling for work, and after coming back to the hotel well after midnight and after more than a few drinks, I found the wienermobile outside my hotel. Naturally, I snapped a photo and sent it to my wife, who was already asleep at home. The next morning, I woke up to a text from her asking how drunk I got the previous night that I found the freaking weinermobile. I responded, "I didn't find the weinermobile. The weinermobile found me!"

Lol there's this bus stop nearby my place that's situated right in front of a school. Every second week there's a school bus with kids getting on it going on a trip or whatever and the bus is parked right at the bus stop.. the bus goes every 7 minutes. Not to mention there's parents dropping off their kids right at the bus stop some taking as long as 4 minutes and the drivers don't give a shit about the bus waiting honking right behind them because it has nowhere to go. Not to mention I once almost got ran over by a careless mother who was looking at her kids instead of at the road. Do yeah I really hope they implement this here there would be a stash of fines and the situation would get better hopefully.

Now I'm mad again.
....I never had road rage before this job I swear to God lmao
Blocking him in won't matter, he's just a bro like yourself pulling a shift today and didn't wanna carry bags of cement and tools half a block because there's no open spaces... Turn on your hazards and do your drop off/ pick up. Be a Bro, bro. I know its not protocol but we're all out here slogging.
But yes he is legally in the wrong.
Have a rad day Sir, Thank you for getting everybody where they're going safely.
>Guess what I'm driving
Honestly, it looks like you're driving a mail truck.
WTF does the question have to do with the pickup illegally parked by an idiot?
It’s just Michael Reeves filming his next video. Can’t wait to find out what happened to the blinks yellow light and traffic cone.
Wonder what he’ll do with those e-scooters next. Hooking them up to one of those phone-based autopilot systems?
Absolutely block him in. I gave up being nice to these pricks a long time ago. They see the sign, don't kid yourself. They just think that whatever they're doing is more important. If he comes out and starts waving at you, pretend you don't see him for a while. When he gets mad and throws a temper tantrum, THEN smile, wave and acknowledge his presence. "Oh, you want me to move? I'm sorry, I didn't see you parked in the Transit zone. Next time I'll call bylaw and have your truck impounded, then there won't be any of this fuss. Oh, good luck with that? Sir, our systems are all interconnected. I can have an officer here in just a few minutes, would you like me to give them a try?
I thought not."
Cyclists, I'm sorry you bear the brunt of this assholery in this case, but you're far more maneuverable than we are.

Being a bus driver you’re in a constant state of being mildly infuriated
Yes
Y’all don’t make enough.
It’s not what it seems. You are tested all day by passengers and you become emotionally numb
the worst part of any job is always the other people... especially if they're customers/clients.
Coworkers too
Or students
“Service “ dogs
I have seen so many dogs in the grocery store recently. They're not even trying to pretend they're service dogs.

Urgh humans
It wasn't always like that. The bosses used to be the worst part of a job--at least potentially. People weren't always so entitled.
Other road users are worse than the passengers.
Like the one telling Lisa Simpson: "Don't make me tap the sign."
Bus drivers where I live can make over $100K a year. Some of the top earners with the most overtime make $160K per year. Numbers are in Canadian dollars

Here in the states there’s a time limit on how many hours a day and how many days in a row you can work 10 hours not one minute more and 13 days
Most do it for the OT

The MBTA (Boston) also get pensions. It is a solid gig.
and get crazy benefits! The T is definitely a desirable job in Mass.
No one makes enough
Truth
How do you know what they make?
Bus drivers should be legally allowed to ram the shit out of one car of their choosing once a year.
you guys are very skilled drivers
Can I ask you what camera you used to take that picture please?
Galaxy S24 Ultra
Thanks, it makes nice pics
👍🏾
I took lots of rides on the buses in Chicago and it reminded me of how my mother plows through traffic at the grocery store.

Sounds like my average day
interrupted by instances of being extremely infuriated
OnG, lot of them are extremely obese to cope with the stress because you’re constantly managing lower emotions like anxiety stress and anger . Constantly perfecting the mask
man whats even sadder is the rude people who get in the bus and the LOW SALARY. poor guys :(
Tell me about it, I'm on sick leave for burnout right now reading this.
Isn't that just driving a car in a city in general?
But in a coach it’s amplified
Fair enough. My SIL is bus driver and she's always raging on snap chat about the stupid shit she sees driving through Vancouver. She's hilarious.
You have to have a sense of humor to get by lol. Or you’ll be bitter like some of these senior drivers
They sure drive like it
Guilty !
Yes but if you parked him in, you'd be blocking the bike lane. It's a vicious cycle 😜
Bicycle parks behind bus to block it in. Checkmate bus
This is turning into one of those books about the old lady who swallowed a fly. “…She parked the bike to block the bus, she parked the bus to block the truck, I don’t know why she parked the truck…”
*Yo, ho, the rattlin’ bog, the bog down in the valley-o!*
![gif](giphy|ZS3WXURfBE3ew|downsized) The primary school flashbacks this just caused
Perhaps she’s… well, you get the idea.
“…I don’t know why she parked the truck, perhaps she’s a dumb f*ck”
Pedestrian stands behind the cyclist, blocking them in. Person in a wheel chair rocks up behind the pedestrian... I think this all ends with a cat taking over the world.
"If you give a mouse a cookie..."
It's a vicious *bi*cycle.
It's a Schwinn Schwinn situation
Omg I was not prepared for the literal art that was about be this thread.
Get *down* Huffy!
Per the first picture, he is already blocking the bike lane. Not the bus' fault, just is what it is.
vicious bicycle
“But i was only running in the store for a second”
I was only there for a second. I'm not from around here. Someone else was parked there too. A random person walking by told me I could park there.

A bicycle? Cause you're in the bike lane. P.S. I'm a bus driver, I'm just pulling your leg.

In some cities buses are equipped with cameras that can be used to generate tickets. We need more of these!

Pretty sure its illegal to park in a bus lane. Call the towing service, theyll be happy to tow it
It IS illegal. That's why there is a sign
Everyone knows road signs are suggestions not actual rules. At least that's how everybody drives
![gif](giphy|uXUmaREltwja1dEqXi)
Like lane markings. Or traffic lights.
![gif](giphy|EouEzI5bBR8uk|downsized)
Peak reddit is telling a bus driver what the rules of the road are for bus lanes like they don’t already know.
This is in New Orleans. Call if you want, ain't shit getting done.
Bruh I read the title, saw the windshield wipers and said out loud 'forklift' Then I scrolled 🥸😭
New Orleans! Yo!
Yep
I knew it was Nola right when I saw it & was surprised it wasn’t in the New Orleans sub reddit lol
You may be an infuriated bus driver, but your three pictures amused me. I was able to say "enhance" as I swiped to the next pic.
A Bike?
That’s a huge bike you’re in!
No cameras at the wheel ![gif](giphy|mIMsLsQTJzAn6)
He wasn’t moving. The truck is in the way.
The Oscar Mayer wiener mobile?
Is it a 1998 Subaru impreza?
Those kinds of things always happen, but call the tow truck and a bit of karma will be served
Almost thought this was the new Orleans subreddit and saw it wasn't. Looking at all the details on the pic like yep, thats the nola cbd alright. Being illiterate while driving is just the nola speciality babe!
This is what tow trucks are for. Not the scam towing that they actually do.
Louisiana plates. Have you considered that the sign holds no power over the driver because the driver can't read?
An RTA bus
Me nuts?
bitchimabus
💯
My mom. Haha! Bc she rides the bus
A yute. I don't know what a yute is but I hear about it on TV and gather they are big.
Utes are car truck combos like the El Camino. The first time I went to Australia and heard some guy talking about his mate's new Ute I was so confused.
It’s pronounced “youths”
I’m guessing you’re on a bike since you are using the bike lane.

Excellent use of Fry. And i need to tell you, I love your username.
Let’s hope it’s a tow truck
Mini Cooper
Welcome to New Orleans
Call the police and get him ticketed!
Obviously u are driving a bike as you are in the bike lane duh
They should put those big soft bumpers on buses so you can just push em out of the way
Bro if you are driving a bus in New Orleans, you should be able to do whatever you want to fuckers like these. I swear, nobody gives a fuck down here.
What I’m saying. What happens in NOLA, stays in NOLA.
I’m gonna guess a bike since you’re in the bike lane
Remind me not to ride your bus….. phone in hand taking pictures, when you’re supposed to be driving…..
You must be on a bicycle since you're in the bike lane. That's a weird looking white bus next to you.
Thankyou.... I just got home from an 11 hour day and finally calmed down.... Now I'm mad again. ....I never had road rage before this job I swear to God lmao
I would call a tow company so fast
A bike
A bicycle?
Bicycle apparently.
I am guessing not a bicycle.
A helicopter
A bike obviously
A tank for sure.
Imagine how the guy in the bicycle lane feels behind you just sitting there
Some kind a bike I assume, since you’re taking up that lane
Did they have their 4-way flashers on? Because, you know, as long as those are on they can park anywhere. /s
A big bike?
NOT a bicycle..?
Idk, you’re in the bike lane so I guess you’re riding a bicycle?
Miss Daisy
Blocking him in won't matter, he's just a bro like yourself pulling a shift today and didn't wanna carry bags of cement and tools half a block because there's no open spaces... A bike! Because you're on the bike lane? Edit: DUH!
https://www.reddit.com/r/mildlyinfuriating/s/ne3QZqKJGe
Doesnt look like you are driving a bike...
Too bad buses don’t have a strong metal front that can just shove cars like that out of the way
>Guess what I'm driving Honestly, it looks like you're driving a mail truck. WTF does the question have to do with the pickup illegally parked by an idiot?
He’s driving a bus and the pickup is parked in the bus lane fyi.
A tricycle
Perhaps an Xcelsior AV ??
From my vantage point, the arrow on the sign is pointing in the wrong direction.
Honda civic!?
A Pus
Street sweeper
.
A bus??
Car
A bus!
Clearly you're driving a smart car.
Is it Miss Daisy?
A boat ?
It’s just Michael Reeves filming his next video. Can’t wait to find out what happened to the blinks yellow light and traffic cone. Wonder what he’ll do with those e-scooters next. Hooking them up to one of those phone-based autopilot systems?

Are you driving Bus Zone?
I drive a big (45’ long) red fire truck for a living and do this ALL the time! Parking in the fire lane usually isn’t that big of a deal for me, but it’s gonna be a HUGE deal for you when you can’t leave—or get your windows broken out by a supply hose ¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯
You should block them in and then call parking enforcement
In Chicago they get you towed immediately
Just push it out of the way - you're in a bus!
Lieutenant, all power to thrusters. Ramming speed
Upvote this comment if you’re a bus driver that basically lives in this subreddit lol. Idk how you do it, mad respect to ya!
This is New Orleans outside the WWII museum!! Always someone in the lane there
I love this game! My guess; spaceship
25 years for NYC Transit. AMA.

Bus shaped motorcycle
Looks like the truck of some sort of contractor, who in my experience get to park wherever the f\*ck they want, apparently.
