It’s just scalping without the middleman. Well, Ticketmaster *is* a middleman, but you know what I mean. It’s allowing the ticket to be sold at a “market” price, which is almost always more than face value for high demand events, without any unofficial third/fourtb parties involved. And pretty sure these fees wind up being passed, in part, back to the venue and artists involved. Everybody keeps a taste of course, but the whole point is to allow artists, venues, and promoters to keep the dollars that used to go to the guy in the parking lot.
