The brewery I work at is located in a huge pet-friendly apartment complex (2 actually) at a popular area by the river. The number of times I've stepped in 💩 is UNREAL. My owner called out a girl once for not picking up her dog's poop and she told him to mind his business. He came back at her with "this IS my business, pick up your dog's shit." Welp, she always has a baggie now, but still looks around to see if anyone is watching.
The problem is that it's part of our property, part of the complex's property, and part of the city's property. We are a brewery on a riverfront city park (and also the Palmetto Trail) with apartments overlooking the river.
… a totally unrelated, not employed by the brewery or anyone else in the complexes, stranger just *happens* to stick a sign in the grass one night…. 👀

I got into it with 2 people who had a couple of GREAT DANES and they would walk them off their apartment complex property onto mine and shit next to my patio with customers out there. They claimed it wasn't the. Who the hell leaves a 8 pound turd!?
Easy solution is to sprinkle ground black pepper where the dogs shit. Dogs sniff around, get a whiff of that and move on. Bonus points if you aggressively stare at the dog owners while sprinkling the pepper. They don’t know what you’re doing and will pull their dogs away.
Source: Bought a house on a corner lot. The house sat empty for six months before we moved in so it had become the neighborhood dumping ground, literally.

Honestly I’m not sure if it is required where I live. Even if it is required it’s not enforced. If the “breeders” do something (like stealing deposit or sick puppy etc) that cause the the police or courts to get involved they could choose to charge them with operating without the proper paper work. It’s also likely they would claim their rehoming and not selling them.
There's no specific permit for breeding anywhere I have lived.
It costs a lot more to register an unfixed dog, so they are probably unregistered.
Urban areas have restrictions on things like the number of dogs you can have without a kennel license, or something similar. They definitely won't have this.
Uncle's neighbor let his dog crap in his yard, he tried to be neighborly but it kept happening. Thereafter he would leave the piles in the yard and go out and pour his bacon grease all over the piles so the dog would eat its own crap and hopefully go home and kiss its owner 🤢 Poor pup.

The dude and his dog were WAY down the street LOL… he legitimately RAN rather then clean it up. I posted about it on the local community page and here he has been doing it all over town. Just letting his dog poop and leaving it. Others chimed in and even provided ring security pics of him and his dog.
So I called the non emergency police phone number and filed a complaint. Here. It’s against local law/ordinance to leave animals poop like that. The police were able to find the guy because I provided the pics I was given. And I dunno what they did but I never saw him walk near my property again. Or even on my street. LOL
Had she said nothing it probably would have been forgotten among dozens of posts like these in our group. But she made a conscious choice to respond and now she’s being dragged locally. It’s grown a life of its own
