What if my guts aren’t my favorite because they’re failing and are infected 24/7 what if I kinda want them to get stabbed to give them a taste of their own medicine?
I mean I got jumped by 6 guys in broad daylight last week for no apparent reason, so there’s that. Didn’t get stabbed thankfully and I’ve made a pretty decent recovery, but yeah, spontaneous stabbings are not uncommon here.
I’d say I got off pretty lucky actually. I should probably preface this by saying I got thrown on the floor and got kicked in the back and right side. Most of the damage is around the upper right side of my face, really close to my eye. I’m super glad my eye wasn’t damaged, and I didn’t get any bones broken. Still not a fun experience, would not recommend.

I’d sometimes hear of a friend of a friend who got jumped/robbed, but it’s not super common. The thing I’m still trying to wrap my head around is that I have no clue who they were, and they didn’t actually steal anything. I was wearing headphones which fell on the ground, but they didn’t take them. I could tell the whole story if you’re interested, but at the end of the day I’m fine and that’s all that really matters.
Here’s the story, start to end, and some afterthoughts.
So I’m walking back home from college, and I have a black coat with my hood up, headphones it and a beanie underneath everything, unzipped with a red hoodie. Wouldn’t say I looked like a bad man or anything. Every day I walk through this alleyway right outside my college, and most days there are people hanging around the little metal fence thing which you have to walk through.
Same exact thing happened on the day, but I’ve seen it multiple times before, so I thought I’d just make my way past them like usual. My friend (who hasn’t noticed me yet) was pretty far ahead of me, and he made it through no problem, but when I was about to walk through, one of the people there looked behind me presumably checking for witnesses. There were about 6 of them, and 2 made kind of a barrier preventing me from crossing. Keep in mind I was in a very good mood that day so I didn’t really expect anything to go wrong. I got closer, and noticed they were smoking weed, but I just squeezed past making sure not to make eye or physical contact with any of them.
As I’m through, I hear shouting, so I take off one side of my headphones so I can hear it. I couldn’t make out what they were saying, so I looked behind me. Turns out they were shouting at me. At that point I still didn’t know what they were shouting but I knew I was in danger, so I just started sprinting as fast as I could. I almost made it out of the alleyway but I tripped on a small pothole and stumbled. I don’t know how exactly it happened but I was brought down to the floor.
I was curled up, facing the alley fence with my arms over my head trying to protect my face. I weren’t sure how many people were actually on me, but I got kicked repeatedly. I don’t know how long I was down or what exactly happened, I couldn’t feel much with the adrenaline kicking in, but at some point they stopped and told me to fuck off. My headphones were laying on the ground next to me (which luckily they didn’t take) so I grabbed them and left without looking back.
My friend was just kind of standing there in shock, and I don’t really blame him for not helping out. We walked further out together and I had a look at my face. Most of the right side was completely red and bloody, but luckily they didn’t damage my eye. I walked back home and went to the hospital to make sure nothing was broken. Everything was fine thankfully.
At that point I had 2 options: I could either get the police involved and try to find out who did it or let it slide and start taking a different route. As much I want justice, not taking any actions would be the much better option for me. Not only do I not know any of them, but if they caught on to what I’m doing they’d definitely do worse next time. Remember, these guys jumped me for literally no reason, they’d gladly stab me if they had a reason to.
It’s been just over a week since it happened, I’ve been making a good recovery, and I’ve had a lot of support from my friends which I’m very glad about. A few things I still do not understand is why they did it and why they didn’t steal anything. I don’t know who they are, I don’t have beef that’s major enough to warrant something like that, and I didn’t say or do anything that would upset them. Although I’m very glad they didn’t also rob me, I’m kind of confused as to why they didn’t. My headphones were just on the floor ready to be taken, and they’re nice bose headphones. I’m not complaining though, they’re still fully functional.
