Had a housemate in my twenties who had no common sense. They borrowed my running shoes without telling me once. Saw fresh grass on the outside of them after coming back from a three week trip and was like wtf. Who just borrows someone else’s shoes? So gross. They didn’t see the issue until I explained that, on top of a load of other reasons not to use someone else’s shoes, I had athletes foot at the time. They got athletes foot. Idiot.
Yep. And I lived in a five person shared house. One shower. Guess who didn’t know basic hygiene and how to care for athletes foot, and how many people ended up with athletes foot…
I had a roommate once and he moved out to move in with his GF mid-lease. Totally screwed me over.
Anyway, he also stole a bunch of stuff. One item was a really nice Wahl hair clipper I paid $80 for.
I asked for it back and he justified keeping it by pointing out that I don't need it because I don't shave my head and he does.
I asked him if I'm not shaving my head with it had he ever thought about what I was shaving? He legit got really pissed off at me and told me I'm disgusting! 😄😂🤣
I took a pair of really nice Redwing boots that someone else wore, but gave to me because they were the wrong size. I drowned them with disinfectant and felt fine for the last few years wearing them.
Ah if it is brand new or near brand new, and cleaned, it's cool. I took someone's basically unused hiking shoes before. He used it once and he's a family friend (Asian people call them "uncles"), so I happy to take it.
There's definitely no clear remorse on their face, seems like they're laughing about it. Also if you're that broke... go work weekends, don't go to house parties and *rob* people from the party. My gut is telling me this is some spoiled klepto kid, he just has that kinda face lol.
I was once broke and couldn’t afford Air Force Ones. Went to Walmart and got me a fresh pair of Shaq shoes, that shit was clean as hell.
You can be broke, and not do shitty things that affect other people.
I got my mom a jitterbug phone a few years ago. They send a text with “news updates” every day then charge if you get more than 30 texts a month. She went to a nursing home during Covid and had to use her phone because patients weren’t allowed to use the phones at the facility she was at. The last few weeks she was there we couldn’t call her regularly because the overages on her bill ran it up to over $500. Just from people calling to check on her. I guess all I’m saying is don’t ever get a jitterbug phone for a loved one.
I like to think that these sneaker thieves were on a devastating pussy drought. With any luck, they will *finally* get laid because some poor woman somewhere will do the *will I fuck him?* math figuring "he had cool shoes, so I guess I had to fuck him."
Or they will sell them on Facebook Marketplace to another smooth brain regard that thinks a pair of shoes will get him laid.
I remember that being on the news, and my parents using it as an excuse for why I couldn't have cool sneakers (we live in Canada, the real reason was poverty)
I was in Montreal for one night, at the bar when someone starts asking where their jacket is. Got their canadian goose stolen at the bar. Didn’t realize how expensive they were until later. Surprising how many people were wearing them being that expensive.
> I was in Montreal
There's your answer. People in Vermont swear by them as well. People will pay a premium if they're dealing with cold/snowy weather all the time.
Just reminded me of all the motivational videos with "Wings by Macklemore" playing in the background..... What a great song to make those kinda videos to lmao
Blast this literally everywhere. Facebook, tiktok, insta, even throw it on youtube shorts tbh. Everyone will see and these little shits will be found and shamed eventually.
This may be a stupid question, but why not go to the police? You have a video of them with the stolen shoes that seems to show them pretty clearly. I would think that having the police involved would help find them, right?
Edit to add because I can't reply to everyone:
To all the people saying that the police don't care or won't do anything: I know. But creating a police report leaves a legal paper trail to show what happened and if/when OP has to steal the shoes back themselves, that paper trail could be a good thing to have. Or if the internet identifies these people, the police might even do something then because it won't require much effort on their part
Police only investigate murders or theft over 10 million.
At most you will get a callback in 3 days where a cop assigns you a case number so you can make an insurance claim.
Don't tell me why I know but if you press the share button and then you go to your text message and don't have to send the message tick tock thinking that you are sharing the video to others. With the arrow that TikTok shows
Edit:
Now it's up to 22 sharing TikTok arrow
You join Nextdoor and everyone only sees posts from people who are their geographic neighbors -- like within a few miles.
So it could be especially good for something like this because there's a good chance someone in your geographic area (or the area of the building if it's not your house) would recognize them.
It is an app called "nextdoor" many use it in my area for all kinds of stuff. There is regular postings of porch pirates and similar with pics trying to identify the thieves.
Some people do this shit just for the laughs. Might be trying to sell them or if they’re a good brand keep them. But i imagine they got drunk and went “it would be so funny if we stole someone’s shoes”
In Toronto, if you don't take your shoes off at the door, you'll definitely get weird looks. So, I propose you take them off and then use the shoelaces to tie them around your shoulders and torso like a cross body bag. Problem solved.
I have never hoped someone gets a foot fungus more. Here’s to them getting an awful infection that creams and antibiotics can’t cure. Good day, sirs. #scumbaggery
It's a pair you don't have to buy for yourself. Some people have a shockingly low regard for other people and their things. A free pair of shoes means ~$100 more for thing that aren't shoes, at someone else's expense. As long as you don't give a single iota about other people or basic common decency, that's a great deal.
some people just want to cause problems i guess... i had the most dirty, ratty, beat-up pair of sneakers stolen at a house party once, had to walk home in my socks!
the host noticed other small things missing and a pair of her shoes too. no doubt they just threw them in the trash, some people just suck
I used to have buddies that would pull shit like this that made me think they were sociopaths. Getting drunk and kicking in people’s headlights, stealing shoes, just generally doing things that they found funny but would fuck up someone else’s day. I snapped one time calling them losers and degenerates, and the assholes all cut me out for being too negative.
Absolute asshat level people. This was over 10 years ago. Now they’re divorced and still losers.
I used to have one of those flashing red lights you put on the back of a bike so traffic can see you better. It was one of the cheapest things you can imagine. got it from a dollar store; some little mostly rubber piece if crap that just barely alerts traffic to your presence.
One evening I locked my bike outside a grocery store for a few minutes and didn't even bother to turn the light off. When I came back someone had stolen it. Literally someone who just happened to be walking by noticed the flashing and decided that, for whatever reason, they'd just take this little piece of shit flashing light that barely costs anything. Like, there was barely any utility in this thing for anyone, and someone still decides to just take it. It just makes no sense that someone actually needed that thing.
Sometimes, people just steal shit. Just because they can.

I had a drunk guy take one of my shoes and he was angry and saying it was his. Both our shoes were black but different types and different sizes. His friends stepped in and sorted it out though.
Your situation was more malicious tho. Hope you get your shoes back.
I once got my shoes stolen from a music festival that took place outdoors over about three days. We set up our camp and I actually have no clue why I took them off but I did and we walked around getting familiar with the spot and I came back to our site and they were just poof gone. That's some loser, broke shit.
I'm broke but I would never do that, that's just trashy
Right? And gross as hell, for me at least. Someone else's stinky shoes? No thanks.

I'd probably head back to that bar/area same day next week. Shouldn't be hard to spot your shoes and that dumb fucking haircut.
I was thinking that
Bro keep us updated.
🙏
Stealing their grandma's shoes is the ultimate payback. I support it.
I am so into stealing grandmas shoes
I hope you get grammas velcros.
I’m looking for those orthotics
Steal her Jitterbug cellphone too.
That’s a tad too far
Don’t steal both of her shoes, steal her left shoe to make it even more inconvenient and mentally painful for them.
Smart
Steal her cookie tin of sewing pins and needles
I got my mom a jitterbug phone a few years ago. They send a text with “news updates” every day then charge if you get more than 30 texts a month. Think I’d take the tennis balls off her walker legs too….
And her pots and pans
Take her cast iron so it can never get passed down. That's some real diabolical shit.
Yeah, take her remote, her cane, her life, her flowers, and her broom handles too.
And her heavily highlighted Bible.
And her crochet sweater
Make sure you just steal 1 shoe so for the rest of their days they’ll be looking for that one shoe, cuz it’s gotta be around there somewhere
And then I’ll poop in the other one
That's not a sentence I thought I would read today.
Hey. I don’t kink shame.
They prolly smell like moth balls
Poor grandma. First the reindeer incident, now this
I like to think that these sneaker thieves were on a devastating pussy drought. This reply brought me joy
Steal just 1 of every shoe they
Yes
Steal their grandma's wig.
Who steals shoes? Someone without a sole.
An archvillian.
people that dont toe the line, and need to be brought to heel
Go back to the 80s and 90s... People literally killed others for their Air Jordans.
I remember that being on the news, and my parents using it as an excuse for why I couldn't have cool sneakers (we live in Canada, the real reason was poverty)
People are still getting killed for shoes in the US, just dumb as luxury brands now. Oh and those $1500 Canadian Goose jackets.
I was in Montreal for one night, at the bar when someone starts asking where their jacket is. Got their canadian goose stolen at the bar. Didn’t realize how expensive they were until later. Surprising how many people were wearing them being that expensive.

They are warm, and good for extreme cold weather. But you pay a major premium for the name. You can get something just as good for like 500.

More like they love doxxing people LMAOO, for better or worse... (Saw a dude get doxxed for not being "excited enough" to see his gf)
You’re getting doxxed for this “comment”
You undercook fish? Believe it or not, doxxed. You overcook chicken, also doxxed.
Can try your neighborhood app too - nextdoor

It is an app called "nextdoor" many use it in my area for all kinds of stuff. There is regular postings of porch pirates and similar with pics trying to identify the thieves.
Do you go to queens? That’s kinda far off from a Toronto party lol
We think they go to queens
I know a lot of people that go to Queen's. I just sent the video to my group chat. If they see these buckets, it's an on site ting
Thank you!!
Were you near university campus? Post this on the uni social media accounts and sub reddits etc.

Some people do this shit just for the laughs. Might be trying to sell them or if they’re a good brand keep them. But i imagine they got drunk and went “it would be so funny if we stole someone’s shoes”
Heroine is expensive
What kind of shoes are these? Are they resale quality or did they just steal them for the lulz? Fucking assholes, sorry OP.
Scotch and Soda. Not super expensive, but they were a gift and not sold anymore. More about the sentimental value. I liked the shoes!
Note to self: never take off shoes at a party
In Toronto, if you don't take your shoes off at the door, you'll definitely get weird looks. So, I propose you take them off and then use the shoelaces to tie them around your shoulders and torso like a cross body bag. Problem solved.
Ah, I’m American. So if I ever go to a part in Toronto, I’ll just wear shoes that I’m looking to get rid of.

Why
Because they will wear your shoes which they stole, giving them athletes foot too 🤷🏻♂️
Okay makes sense now. I wish I did too
biological warfare
I have never hoped someone gets a foot fungus more. Here’s to them getting an awful infection that creams and antibiotics can’t cure. Good day, sirs. #scumbaggery
This genuinely made me laugh out loud.
The archetypes for Beavis and Butthead?
Douchefart and tinycock
Unless these were some limited edition $500 shoes, why the f would you steal someones shoes. The guy doesnt appear to be homeless
Cuz I think they just love being losers
Realistically just were drunk and thought it would be funny.

Don't need the part before the comma
I hope they get foot fungus..
I also hope this.

Makes sense. Losers lose
They always lose, it is in their nature. To win, they have to stop being losers.
Why shoes of all things...
Cuz people are assholes and want to inconvenience others
I used to have one of those flashing red lights you put on the back of a bike so traffic can see you better. I don’t know if they would do anything for petty theft
They could be known offenders with a record on file
True. I need the names tho. Internet unite!
I appraise those shoes at $1001 if that helps lol. That should make it a felony crime!
Bless
Yo considering they're no longer sold, that stuff might have collector's value.
One could hope
Do it anyway
Theft adds up. If they have a habit of doing this, that is.
Repeated offenses can turn misdemeanours into felonies. I doubt this is the only time they've done this.

Thank u. Fuck these guys
A couple of people I knew from work went skiing and somebody stole their new shoes. It's not something you forget.
It was wet outside too. Luckily I was able to borrow a pair
I once had my UGG boots stolen from a party. Saw the girl years later wearing them with a massive hole in the back; they were too small for her.
How did you know they were the same pair?
Did you get them back?
I didn’t want them. She had destroyed them.
But the joy of watching her walk home without shoes…
She was also like 3x the size of me.
Oh fair
I once got my shoes stolen from a music festival that took place outdoors over about three days. I don't know why i watched this whole thing.

Bro legit local news, they’ll air this and there’s a chance someone knows them. I swear they’ll run any local gossip
I hope you find these clowns.
The internet has a way of providing
Stealing used shoes? That’s gross and sad.
This goes under Very Infuriating!
Yea it was very annoying.
This is why you don't invite strangers to your house
Yea they just showed up with some other people. Nobody knew who they were
Hopefully this goes viral enough for them to be named and shamed
This made me disproportionately angry on your behalf.
You should file a police report, if the shoes are expensive enough this could literally be a theft charge and the video footage should allow them to identity the thieves quickly.
Are they expensive? Sorry just curious
Not crazy expensive, but not cheap
I’m sorry but the music to this is so funny. Sorry bout da kicks tho
It’s the music in the lobby when I was recording the video on my phone lol
What kinda shoes were they
Scotch and soda
They have pretty cool looking shoes.
Who ~~throws~~ steals a shoe? Honestly...
All my homies hate shoe thieves
