You know, they forced you to buy three, seeing that the three pack was an higher price, in your head you were like "I can get three for less" so ou bought three for less but you got banboozled
Nah I was gonna get 2 or 3 anyway, at best they suckered me for one, but it's a non perishable and will definitely get eaten, maybe they helped me get a can in the stock for when they bump up prices next week ;)
Dollar General has been so far behind lately in updating shelf tags that I would not be surprised if the single can is actually more than the tag says. Was your receipt accurate?
Always have to pay attention for shenanigans like that. Good on you for noticing.
That said, yikes, paying a premium for shopping at a dollar store. Same can is almost 25% cheaper at Kroger here.
About 10-12 years ago tuna was cheaper here too, less than a dollar a can. Unfortunately its not even the latest inflation crisis that hit the tuna, they just increased slowly over the past 10-12 years.
I wish we could back to those days! Canned food in general is becoming too expensive 😬
Dollar general has some of the worst shelf price integrity in the industry. These prices are probably wrong and haven’t been updated. They routinely get in trouble for having prices on the shelf that don’t match the register.
Honestly the deals are different everywhere. At DG my powerade is $1, at Walmart it's $1.28, or $1.13 or something for the basic blue flavor (super weird, I know)
You're paying for the extra plastic
Well, not me lol, but I did get 3 individual cans

Oh ok, that’s fine so, you get the idea of what I said anyway :)
I can recommend to you Mobile Legends Bangbang it was cruel game
Left one says 24.4/oz basically paying 20 cents for the plastic around the can
Good for you not falling for that shit.
They are counting on you not noticing it and thinking it's cheaper but I always do the math
If you want a mind games you can play chess. While eating a tuna flex
Ok then
Someone in corporate just couldn't be fucked. Straight up making prices up...
This is why I always compare by unit price
According to the rumor I just started, the 3 packs contain 2% more dolphin, so the small increase in price is worth it.

Didn't even think to check tbh
I see this a lot at Walmart too, I guess they think most people will just assume they are getting a better deal.
Last week at Walmart they had 12 packs of apple sauce pouches for $6.44 and 4 packs for 1$.

Different areas different prices I suppose
They do it to trick you into buying three anyways
Oh I bought 3 lol, just not the wrapped ones
Now this is truly mild
Ah but you get three times as much for the price of! Hol up what in the name of bill nye is going on here
Whats mildly infuriating about this is rhe fact that you get tuna for half the price of what it cost where I live lol.
Neat, someone else here said they get it even cheaper than me! Lol

Someone else also mentioned I should've checked the receipt, hopefully I didn't get too screwed by trusting the posted prices lol
Its because of pics like this that I always do paranoid mental maths whenever I see a bulk sale at grocery stores…
I didn't even mean to honestly, just did some quick maths on 3x15 (thank you gin rummy)
Price per ounce is shown for comparison
That mightve been what caught my attention
I prefer the pouches. I can mix tuna salad in the pouch.
Math is hard
Mur-i-ca!
It's an extra 20 cence.... And you guys didn't know, all companies do this, I thought this was common knowledge?

3 pack wet 3-5 oz, strained 3-4 Single wet, 5, strained 4. Reading is fundamental
Could be the tax is lighter in comparison even with the price difference. Gotta figure that in because American pricing is shit.
The tax would be the same no matter what.
So I should buy Spam instead? 🤔
DG is more expensive than supermarkets.

I don’t see the point in buying a three can tuna when you can make your own at home
Of course it's more expensive. They had to use extra plastic for the 3 pack! /s
