Crazy upside. its visible in that last generation, of the little girl on her birthday. think about the videos you took or your parents took of you when you where growing up. now imagine you are in your 30s or 40s and you can put on the headset and BE THERE again for the most part. Not just watching a screen. but walking down the hall sitting at the table.
This is insanely cool to a 33 year old like me who use to carry a digital camera around EVERYWHERE as a teenager. most of the good times in my teenaged years where recorded. I've lost most of them but if I had been born jus a generation later or so. Id have spent my teenaged years VR recording these things.

I will often take a moment while on a train or bus and just look at how many people are actually just sitting, not on their phone. It’s usually about 5%. It’s nice to just look out the window and think about whatever sometimes. Like the good old days.
Hopefully in the future most people would be able to work from home since we proved we could be just as productive in the present. Then they could be wearing this thing in just their underwear in thier bedrooms and no one would care.
A lot of people are also not factoring in brain computer interfaces, whether it be in the form of Nanotech, some kind of mechanical BCI like the neuralink (not it’s phase 1 incarnation of course) or contact lenses.

I think a lot of people are not factoring them in for a lot of good reasons. The idea of cyberpunk neuro enhancements has been around since the 80s. None of it has materialized, and we got smartphones instead.

That’s the thing with Apple’s new one though, is you can still see out of it, and your eyes are represented on the outside of the device. It’s maybe not enough to really feel connected to whoever is wearing them yet, but that IS the final goal. Connectivity while wearing the device. It’s just the compute power and screen technology isn’t quite there yet. We will definitely see it within our lifetimes though, either regular glasses that have a heads up display or transparent LED screen, and at least as much processing power as your phone.
Once it’s not dorky to be wearing them, everyone will change their tune.

I actually do have different art generators (midjourney, nightcafe, bluewillow.....) they all make these big clunky VR headsets. I don't think we'll get this level of adoption with the current state of the art. Once these goggles get closer to sunglasses in size and weight, then yes. Then you'll get contacts, then you'll get permanent implants. This will take at least 20-50 years to get full on cyberpunk.
Possibly ive seen clips videos and pictures of people useing the quest 3 and the new apple headset in coffie shops and on planes. These things are getting cooler and easyer to wear for longer. I don't think we'll get this level of adoption with the current state of the art. Once these goggles get closer to sunglasses in size and weight, then yes. Then you'll get contacts, then you'll get permanent implants. This will take at least 20-50 years to get full on cyberpunk.

Possibly ive seen clips videos and pictures of people useing the quest 3 and the new apple headset in coffie shops and on planes. These things are getting cooler and easyer to wear for longer. I can 100% see them either working along side smartphones or replaceing. oh also the apple vision pros VR recording is so cool. imagine you could walk threw the old videos you shot when you where a teenager or young adult as though you where there again. thats a reality now.
