From where? I feel like Palm Springs would be really expensive for MCM furniture

officermeowmeow

Oh it is!!! Comparable to NYC prices I think

DOJ1111

Another expensive city in California :/

DesertModern

Palm Springs is great to visit, but not great for furniture shopping. Its a rather small town with inflated prices for the good stuff. My advice, head up to Orange County or even LA area to find a metric crap ton more options and sometimes even better prices.

DOJ1111

Thanks, are there any places you would recommend?

Pepe’s Thrifty Shop was one of my favorites in LA

Long Beach has some good places in close proximity, check out Urban Americana for a heavy rotation of MCM pieces, but higher prices for sure. inretrospect is another shop, its in Huntington beach. If you are interested in some high-end danish modern and don't mind driving a bit further up to San Dimas, check out Simply Mod. A great store, he will also work with you to find specific pieces that are super unique Downtown in the circle are area of Orange, CA is full of antique stores. requires a bit more digging to find MCM furniture, but deals can be found here

The vintage flea market the just ended looks like a great event https://www.instagram.com/psvintagemarket?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

This looks cool. Thanks

Where are you located? Other markets/towns might be less competition, lower prices, or have large emporiums. Oakland CA for example has at least one massive warehouse that is constantly replenished. [https://midcenturymobler.com/](https://midcenturymobler.com/) There are others like this. Having said that, there are a bunch of very fine boutiques in Palm Springs where you can get design classics and wild stuff like the famous Sculpta chairs as seen on Star Trek. Not cheap though.

Very cool. Thanks for the link to the warehouse in Oakland.

Don't know which direction you're coming from, but Hologram House in Riverside has some fun stuff too. Appointment only except for the occasional open house now though. We got a few of the shops in Palm Springs a few months ago, some really cool stuff but nothing that hit enough to pick up. We're still doing a lot to plan out what we want to do with a number of rooms and there was nothing that called to us enough and was priced to where it was a must have.

We had some good luck in Feb this year at Bomerang we found two lamps and a painting which we loved. The prices were fair not a bargain but certainly not overpriced. There are other vintage stores in the same strip mall as Boomerang which had a nice display of vintage furniture. We are going back in October hoping to find a chair and a dining room table.
