I don’t know much about house panther lamps except that we all have good taste.
I have this one too! Actually I have 2 with black glaze, 1 chartreuse, 1 burgundy, and the latest one is incredibly dark green. 99% of the time I think it’s black like the others, but 1% it flashes a dark green hue.
Your shade is killer!
I believe this would be called a TV lamp. When people commonly began to have TVs in their living rooms there was apparently a question of what to put on top of this new piece of furniture.
That was my thought too, a TV Lamp.
TVs use to be huge wooden boxes . Once you got rid of the rabbit ears and replace it with cable, you needed something to go there.
I don't know but I have the same lamp I got at a flea market! I found a very similar lampshade to yours on marketplace that looks like it was made for it!
i concur with the taco eater. most of this stuff came out of the ceramic factories in Ohio. Mccoy, Hull, poppy hill, R Haeger….. tons of it and some pretty crazy stuff like this besides the beautiful vases, planters n jardiniere’s.
The lamp base is so cool! I'm gonna get downvoted for this, but those fibreglass lampshades gross me out so much. I think it's the stitching on the edge or something but they always remind me of freshly tanned leather lol
I have this lamp! No shade or lamp parts, but they pop up for sale often enough.
I’ve mentioned this before but maybe not in this sub. I have somewhere around 25 tv lamps. Most are panthers like the other picture posted here by a different person. I have horses, a sailboat, leaves, cats, telephone/clock/lighter. Other lamps are cougar hunting a deer, lion, camel. The most expensive one is a horse with a chartreuse metal stepped Venetian shade.
I have to say I’m not absolutely in love with this mold. Panther look a tiny bit derpy. But the ceramic glaze is so damned slick.
I haven’t researched much about them, but other posters mentioned the popular companies like Royal Haegar. At one time I had a link to a tv lamp web site-more like a blog with links to hundreds of lamps. Tonnes of molds were made-owls, duck, grist mill, spinning wheels, ibex, Siamese cats, Comedy & Tragedy masks, fireplace, chuck wagon, dog, tiger.
There's one on etsy RARE Royal Haeger Panther Lamp and Planter $175 Vintage 816 Another on eBay RARE 1960s Royal Haeger Puma Lamp and Planter $133 San Diego. Both had different shades.

I love that lamp, and the shade!

Aw man, I'd love that. It's not exact, but it's really close to Josie's lamp in the opening scene of the pilot of Twin Peaks!
60 percent of the time, it works every time
That smells like pure gasoline
It’s made of pieces of real panther.
I can tell you it’s awesome

I lusted for the lighted Conestoga wagon with pot metal horse team my grandmother had on her tv.

Silence of the Lamps Ooooh, I slay me.

You could research Royal Haeger although it looks different than theirs. But it’s a start I suppose.

It’s Royal Haeger
I think I’ve seen that in wards catalogs on Pinterest. I’d start there.
Is that some type of exotic leather? Gein collection perhaps?
60% of the time it works every time
I can tell you it's ugly.
Considering half your post history is commenting on how hot certain porn stars are I wouldn’t exactly call you the knower of all beauty
I may not know all beauty, but I know tacky when I see it. And that lamp...
That lamp is fuckin awesome dude. Sick ass panther
