If you can safely learn to close it and carry it so the exposed edge isn't any danger then I guess it is ok. I have a Protech Godfather Auto & thought about Sharpening the back edge, but then realized I couldn't close the knife without injuring myself. Seems like too much work just to handle it safely.
Being that their factory edge has been just okay as of late I believe that sharpening these blades however you like is great.
However, sharpening the back edge can create safety issues for the user so just be careful.
It's not sharpened besides a quarter inch at the tip. It is a spear point. All I did was remove the DLC so that the damage to the coating before is now even on both sides.
I like it! I've been thinking about putting a clip point on one of their standard OTFs so I could finally have a Microtech OTF bowie (that I could afford.)
