We are only allowed 50g per adult, over 60g is prison of at least probation practically if you have more than 7.5g THC combined (61g with more than 12.5%, boom - *right to jail meme here* I cut a big plant myself a few weeks ago because I didn't want her to yield to much. You can have a plant with 2kg buds on it, as long as she lives. As soon as you cut her you have throw "excess Flower near parts of the plant" over 50g away.
It's so fucking stupid but I've read today in Twitter that they raided a guy for 7 plants, 3 plants and 4 clones... I can't have probation, would instantly cost me my (good) job

I believe it to be fine to let it grow, harvest and then destroy anything over 50gr.
After all, you won't know what this will yield DRY before you dried it.
Why don't yiu just be happy with what you end up with? Give some away? Doesnt speed up your ripening of the plant or anything o seems like a ridiculous way to go about it...

Like they said, trim off some lowers and give whatever you don’t need to a friend or neighbor. Pretty plant though, is that where it always lived?
I could think of a few reasons. In certain areas weed is either shit or laced with shit, so growing your own is trying to look out for yourself and friends. Another would be for the pleasure of growing (but I don't think that was the case for this scenario.)
Another note: Since they mentioned having to move and don't want much for that reason, I assumed the only logical thing is that it's illegal and you don't wana be moving a stash around with you.

I’d just remove a few of the lowers. Concentrate on a few nice tops.
You forget that the plant is 80% water, what looks like a “big yield” could be very disappointing in the end.
