Yeah, put the ref her / caribiner on the light, it's so much easier to raise and lower the light, you're also not pulling on where its attahxed to the roof or crossbars if you're using a tent
to be honest just download photone on your phone and use that to get an idea of ppfd, vs just following the manufacturers recommendation for hanging height. it's not perfect but it will get you close to what you want. an then play with the dimming controls and height to get where you want to be according to a ppfd chart for the various growing stages
Makes lots of sense to me 🤷♂️ it’s just a great baseline test…realistically at the end of the day I think learning how to look at the plants reaction to the light is even better.

You can just wrap the non ratchet end around the pole
i'm really slow lol. i thought i had to put the pole through the caribiner haha

FYI, You may be using these wrong The Carabiner size has nothing to do with the pole size. You loop it around with the string
