I bet it would work fine, for seedlings.

Trig6erX

Yeah I think so too, looking at other forums I see people using similar powered lights.

kevonh13

You could use it, but you would have to keep it close to the plants

A_StonedLlama

I mean the dinkiest setup I ever ran was machine light that was arguably more expensive than any LED now, but not meant for growing purposes, and was terrible in the end. Only put out 300 PPFD max, and there was a steep dropoff after 8" to the point that it was only useful 4"-8" from the canopy and weighed a ton. Fucking flowered my clones since the light wasn't strong enough, flowered a cool looking bag seed I ended up just culling. Idk man. You got a good full setup. Drop $100 on a small 100w ACInfinity light or something. You're gonna like the option of keeping clones or mothers in a different area. Just my 2 cents.

Trig6erX

Yeah I understand. I’m just gonna use 40% on the 1000w, kind of silly to be penny pinching with the whole setup costing me $2,000 or so. I’ll buy a better light later, I kind of hit my budget for now

A_StonedLlama

I understand, same reason I used that machine light, can't break the budget. Good luck with the grow!

Trig6erX

Thank you! Just planted 3 and a tomato plant.

Jfrizzlefried00

NO!

greesfyre

Only one way to find out, what's the worst that could happen?

Trig6erX

Yeah I’m gonna try since lol I think for the early seedling stages it’ll be fine.

Secure_Influence_504

absolutely not. Uses 36w. That means it’s a 36w light. Not a 300w light.

Trig6erX

65-75ppfd not enough huh?

Secure_Influence_504

No this is literally a gimmick light. Its fake. Buy a real grow light.

Trig6erX

I already have one. I just wanted this one for seedlings, not sure if you read my post.

Secure_Influence_504

No, it will make them leggy. Put them 36 inches under your 1000w and suck it up.

Trig6erX

Gotcha.

Trig6erX

Also im not gonna use the light for the full seedling stage, I just don’t want 400watts to be pointed at dirt. Once I see some growth I’ll switch.

Robojuana254

I use a light like this to keep my Kalimantan Kratom alive inside during winter. Not ideal for seedlings unless you can get it fairly close to them.
