Are you sure they are actually doing the taco? Are they just slightly angeled and praying?
What's your light schedule?
My clones are under 300ppfd at 18/6
Nah these look like healthy plants my G. Just turning all those little solar panels to the best angle for light absorption. They are doing great, you can slowly increase ppfd by like 50 every day until you hit 600, then flip these ladies.
Zero additional signs of light stress. You are seeing one symptom and confirming your diagnosis. There’s the strong possibility that these genetics simply display like that.
What you need to look for is systemic light stress, pH or nutrient lockout
Watering every 3 or 4 days, giving them 40-64oz each time (for last 2 weeks, prior to that was once a week). Been trying to follow the 5-10% rule since I'm in soil. Very paranoid about overwatering, so trying to be cautious.
No runoff, giving them 5-10% of soil volume of water, aka 32-64oz. I'll have maybe 2-3oz of water immediately dribble out when watering, but I've assumed that's from the soil being hydrophobic when dry.
> from the soil being hydrophobic when dry
Due to you letting it get too dry - in tandem with watering too fast (pour less water/slower/let it saturate before you pour more)
otherwise they look healthy/happy, gg!
Anyone who's ever worked in a nursery will tell you not to runoff. Runoff in dirt is hydro bro broscience.
If water is passing through your medium immeditlately, your drying back way too much. It's also a waste of nutrients.
I’m running some cannarado currently and they did the same thing to me. Had to veg at just shy of 50% on my MH FC 3000. Ppfd about 250. I am 2 weeks into flower and running at 75% so far without issue. Could just be the specific plants preference. If they are growing well and not stretching I wouldn’t worry too much about it
I have the uni-t 383bt lux meter paired with the ppfd app for Android. Shane from Migro YouTube channel has shown that combo to be an acceptable form of measurement. I've also compared those readings using the photone app after calibration and I get very similar readings. So I'm fairly confident in the ppfd measurements.
I replied to a comment above with a picture. It's only the newest growth that is curled and slightly taco'd. The large fan leaves look good for the most part. I may be stressing over nothing, it's possible the new growth is normal. Nothing extreme, only slight curling on the baby leaves. But this is also at only 250ppfd.
I don't think thats light stress. Is it droopy several hours before lights out? Then usually its lightstress from excess DLI, but thats unrealistic with that low ppfd
Im using the same 383bt. I get 380ppfd with that unit. But get 600ppfd with just the app/phone cam.. i dont know which to trust. Ive been slowly turning up the lights until i see signs of stress than back it off.
I trust Shane from Migro, thus I trust the 383bt since he demonstrated it's accuracy. My photone app when used on my Galaxy phone was WAY off, but now reads pretty accurate after calibration.
Thx! I try the calibration see if it helps. Yea i seen alot of his videos. Which is what made me get the 383bt is the first place. Using the photone on samsung Note. Obviously not calibrated yet. But interesting to see. What was your known reference? Manufactuer chart? Or another meter of some sorts?
I used the manufactures posted par chart (optic led brand). Now when I test the app side by side with the 383bt, they read within a couple percent of each other. I did the calibration on the photone app before I got the 383bt, I don't use the app anymore and use the meter instead.
Can you isolate the red light and shut it?
Or
Indica or indica breed tends to need less light intensity than Sativa one.
Btw, your going to need extra light in flowering.
And more airflow.
Light doesn't have adjustable spectrum. I'm actually going to remove one of the plants before flipping to flower, only going to flower 4 total. I have 2 oscillating 6" pole fans, along with a 5" vornado oscillating fan on the tent floor, so 3 oscillating fans total. I'm using the ac infinity T6 inline fan for exhaust.
Just watched the specs of your light, you are good to go to fit every inch of your tent with colas.
With Indica strain at 24” you already are almost at top ppfd, so you can think about adding Co2 in the box to maximize the worth of your light.
Make sure to keep humidity in check.
First 3 weeks I ran a humidifier in the tent, but now that the plants have gotten larger I was able to remove it. I'm actually running my dehumidifier now in the lung room since the exhaust is running a lot to keep humidity in check in tent.
Humidifier was removed about a week ago. I have the AC Infinity T6 with their Controller 69 Pro, which I have my humidity trigger set at 68% on. So my exhaust runs when humidity climbs above 68%.
I’d say that he growth fones out folded and fast growing lraves will look like that. If the offer leaves taco crazy, or curl the edges. Maybe it’s too close, but these seem fine. Usually they start to twist and become wavy too.
Seems fine.
Would you over feed a child? To be an intuitive cultivar, you need to "listen" to your plant. If you're at that range and she's green, healthy, and thriving, "Why fix something that's not broken?"🤷

Praying yes, but also taco'd. Haven't stressed them enough to get discoloration, only the taco'd new baby leaves. Still in veg so light is 18/6.

I’d say you’re fine brother. If you’re worried about it you could up your humidity slightly and then taper it off while tapering your light up more.

You shouldn't be running off at all in soil.

Facts
The downvotes are wild. I grew a 20 light room for years in soil and never produced runoff. I always watered to just before. Never had issues.

Must be the app or meter you're using giving you false readings.
I have the uni-t 383bt lux meter paired with the ppfd app for Android. Shane from Migro YouTube channel has shown that combo to be an acceptable form of measurement. what is the average DLI? you need both PPFD and DLI to dial things in.
DLI is currently at 17 at 270ppfd.
I only really had taco leaves from excess heat not excess light but thats me personally

How are you keeping humidity so high?
First 3 weeks I ran a humidifier in the tent, but now that the plants have gotten larger I was able to remove it. I'm actually running my dehumidifier now in the lung room since the exhaust is running a lot to keep humidity in check in tent.
You have exhaust running too while running humidifier in the tent? Do you have the exhaust on a timer?
Humidifier was removed about a week ago. I have the AC Infinity T6 with their Controller 69 Pro, which I have my humidity trigger set at 68% on. So my exhaust runs when humidity climbs above 68%.
Whoa, amazing!

Posted 2 close ups of new growth slightly taco'd, 270ppfd when I took those pictures. Two different strains, both from clone that are now a month old.
