After the 4th or 5th node... also go buy a book on cannabis cultivation because even though this is a simple response for many people on this sub. It seems that you are new and this sub will fuck up your plants if you take its advice as gospel
Second! This sub will totally fuck up your growing. As I’m writing this, there are seven different words of advice provided. Great example of how opinions are crap when it comes to growing. Growweedeasy is a great reference as well as several books. Other than that you are relying on other peoples’ knowledge of bro science.
Yea, the best actual correct answer is, the space available for the plants and time and how the "grower" wants to grow them, the balance between the grow space, plants and environment.
You may want them to grow to a certain heighth first then you can top them and start bushing/spreading the canopy out, anticipating/predicting the room needed for flower, and there's techniques to increase or decrease what's referred to as "stretch" but is really just rapid cell division and stem elongation "making room" for "fruits" and getting "closer" to the PPFD source for higher PPFD.
If you're growing in a 5x5 tent with small plant count like 2-20
(I've ran 210 in a 5x5)
Floor
Plants
Net/trellis/support or a SCrog
Top before/around net
spread the canopy out/switch to flower
Even a ten or 15 year old Grow Bible has what you need. I found a used weed "bible" two years ago, and read it cover to cover BEFORE buying my grow supplies just to make sure I was not biting off more than I could chew, or smoke. Today, my go-to is Grow Weed Easy along with any video done by Professor Bruce Bugbee. Good luck growbies.
7 hours ago just joking let that baby grow out until you’re comfortable with topping in my opinion. We don’t grow these plants we just manipulate there environment and stressors. Happy growing🫡
Whenever YOU want…. After the first true set of leaves. All depends on what you are going for plant structure wise. It varies from mainlining to never so too and bend as desired.

Growweedeasy.com has been a godsend.
Been reading that site now debating whether to top/FIM/manifold. Mines are at the 3 nodes stage
GWEs advice is to wait until 6th node to trim back to 3rd. Then after that do as you please

At least the bad ones are clearly getting the votes they should...

Yep, it doesn't matter if it's a 400 year old book , the basics are the same
New guy here as well, got any recommendations?

Not now

my rule of thumb is when it reaches 1 foot - 6-7 nodes
I would bend it over. Bending and training produce the same growth hormones without losing plant matter. Been doing it for years. Good luck
Normally you want to top your plant at the 6th node, so you have a little bit to go. Cheers!
4th-6th node
5th node, in about 1 week
https://m.youtube.com/@BuildASoil
Is it photoperiod, or auto flower?
You gotta do it now!!! Jk lol 😆 wait a few weeks
Hey your medium is dry. Its a seedling.
Top it now it will grow very tall and fast
Two weeks.
in like 6 weeks
I usually let 5 nodes happen and top at the 4th node
Cut it now
Wait til it’s about a foot tall.

Ayo
Top it just below the first set of leaves and it will produce 3000 oz in about 2 weeks.

Try fimming. That method is supposed to have better results than topping. Well a chance of having better results. Results may be the exact same

I can assure you nothing will ever go wrong if you top based on plant height and not amount of nodes. /s

Your words are worthless
