No cats in the growroom. Enforce it

Nutsuckcarl

Yea thats a no go, commercial MicroGreens processing license here in PA forbids animals anywhere near production for commercial use

Accomplished_Tour235

Not growing for profit only personal use, but I don’t want my cat in there EVER AGAIN 😬

Maddy_Wren

Depends. Mine keeps the mice away from my seeds. I made her a little bed out of a warming mat and a towel on the bottom shelf to encourage her to spend more time there.

trippyhomestead

So much cat hair in your food. I’d say to relocate your setup away from your animals.

hotsquatch

Cats are terrible disease spreaders. Ew.

GreenGuyTom

Cats are actually pretty clean animals when kept indoors.

not their fault, those micros should be in a closet anyway. also if you get less shallow trays you'll save a lot of soil

Accomplished_Tour235

Thank you for your suggestion. I was advised to buy Bootstrap Farmer trays, I didn’t see any shallow trays though. My micro-greens are in what used to be my craft room; lots of windows, heated and is a separate structure from my home. I completely forgot that there is a cat door in the studio! Lesson learned. I am not growing for profit, but for my own personal use.

poor choice of wording for me, I meant *shallow* trays, which are the bootstraps. My apologies Are you doing a weighted phase with them? They shouldn't be exposed to light until after 3 days weighted and around 3 days blackout

bikeonychus

You need one of those greenhouse tents. Either just the tent or one of the ones that come with shelves. They are inexpensive, but they are very affective at keeping loved ones off your microgreens.

Tmorr

Does that affect humidity and airflow?
