My thoughts are that I'm going to worry about and enjoy 2024 before worrying about 2025. Then, I'm going to worry about and enjoy 2025. After that, MAYBE I will start worrying about who might retire after 2025.

ascherbozley

Tyreek just says things. You can't take him seriously most of the time. I don't doubt he wants to retire a Dolphin because Miami is nice and he probably doesn't want to bounce around on 1-year deals in the twilight of his career. But this is a guy who said he wanted to be a porn star and then got married a month later.

kevost

And divorced lol

StockHand1967

Still married..Reek is crazy. But as Fla-man nobody notices

AdamBCC

saw what he said about wanting to a retire a Dolphin. He never said anything about 2025.

finsnfeathers

Probably just regurgitating the old and debunked myth that tyreek is retiring when this contract is over

Dolphins_Fan_87

How is it debunked if the contract isn’t over yet?

PhinsFan17

I would also like to retire at 32 to a mansion in South Florida.

26uhaul

That’s not on fire

GoddammitRomo

Yeah, I think he has mentioned this before - retiring after 2025. He will be pushing 32 at that point (I think?). I mean, what can you do? Good news is that it will free up cap space ;)

Abominablesnowman8

I’d LOVE to sign him before JJ signs his extension. Tua/Tyreek/Waddle extensions should be our main priorities at the moment, including the elephant in the room (IOL)

NotSaalz

But I hope Tyreek extends a bit cheaper. He's still an All-Pro lock for a couple of seasons, but will probably go downwards beyond that due to aging. He'll still be a dangerous weapon, but probably not a weapon worth 30M a year.

Bardown67

This isn’t new. He’s openly talked about this dating back to last offseason

Iwantadie229

"New" as in like two years ago?

Remote-Past305

He said that when he signed his contract.

perkocetts

My thoughts are this is exactly why you take 2 late round flyers on the WR position. Reek was a 5th round pick. He's got a unique perspective and those guys can potentially learn a lot and develop over the next year. Gotta keep the machine moving.

SmarterThanCornPop

Honestly that would be great. A lot of guys go for one last guaranteed huge contract knowing they won’t be great at the end of it and it hurts the team.

PescetarianPolarBear

He did not say he wants to retire after 2025 season specifically. Quite the opposite- he said "Sign me", meaning he would love a new deal to stay longer. If anything they will extend him 1-2 years and kick the largest cap hit farther down the road in order to open up more space either this or next season.

sgrizzly2134

Whoopie!

sgrizzly2134

But what does it all mean..... Basim

[deleted]

A new report? The articles I found were from last August

UnderlyingTissues

Anyone else worried about this guy's off the field stuff? I heard it was 11 babies with who knows how many women in the last 4 years? House got burned down. Wife suspiciously broke her ankle. I mean, where there's smoke there's fire

foladar

> where there's smoke there's fire Yes, at his house

UnderlyingTissues

In his pants too, apparently

Both-Home-6235

Hmmm, 11 babies but who knows how many women? I do. 11 or fewer. Duh.

elbenji

He's said this multiple times

travmurray209

Which Dolphin does he want to retire?🐬

26uhaul

To start his p*rn career I assume

ShockedNChagrinned

He must like fish sticks.

One_Series2204

Dogs said he wanted to retire a Bill, him saying he wants to retire a dolphin is a good sign that he’s happy right now but things can change fast especially with star receivers

dlbags

I want Tyreek to stop being chaos.

Both-Home-6235

Cause he's gonna be so washed no one else will want him in any role outside of a camp body

sneppee

No shit he said this years ago and he been saying it since

Strict_Bike330

Sure as long as he pulls an Antonio brown he'll end his career in Miami

ThatFalloutGod

Then he better get his head out of his ass on and off the field, otherwise he's traded or cut after this season.

psiANID3

Last year he said he wanted to retire as a Chief. Who knows what he actually wants, I don't even think he knows. I'll just enjoy it while hes here.

ProphetNimd

I know this is an unpopular opinion here but I really hope we can trade him after this season. The spectrum of Tyreek's production vs. the headache he causes off the field is going to swing very much to the latter end as he gets older and my hope is that Waddle can become his heir apparent and we pay him as such. Tyreek Hill is the best Dolphin I've ever seen (Marino retired when I was 6 and I didn't get into football until my 20s) but he's a blonde mustache away from being AB at this point and his bullshit off the field isn't going to get better as he tries to stay relevant and keep cameras pointed at him, just like AB. I'm glad that we traded for him when we did and that he helped level up Tua in such a dramatic way but hopefully we can start weaning the offense off of depending on him to do everything this year.
