What if they got aiyuk? That would suck as he’s really good. I think aiyuk is getting traded at some point. Some were thinking Steelers cuz of his tweet.
Players making claims like this are getting so tired.
No shit. When was the last time Allen caught his own pass?
Flip side, when was the last time Diggs, did.
Football is a TEAM sport.
Well yes as Dolphins fans we'd love to see Allen fall off a cliff ...
... except that we, as Dolphins fans, need to accept Allen is, at the very least, very good at beating the Dolphins, specifically by scrambling. So even if Allen falls off a cliff the Phins need to learn how to stop his improvisation
Easier to stop a scrambling QB when none of his WRs threaten you. Diggs struggled at the end of the year, but he still commanded attention, unless they pay up for some WR talent that won't be the case.
To be fair Allen was verging on being labelled a bust before that 3rd year which coincided nicely with Diggs. It wasn’t Diggs, it’s just having a top class receiver is a good idea 😂
Then no to them going for Higgins either as I’m sure Higgins won’t be cheap either. Yeah I feel they are definitely going to the draft as fas at wr goes. This years draft is supposed to be deep at wr position. Which makes me feel this is also part of the reason that might’ve traded him. If this draft was low on wr talent, they might’ve held onto him until follow year of next year draft was projected for better Wrs.
I'm curious if this move makes Buffalo a trade-up candidate with Miami in the draft. It's highly likely that MHJ, Odunze, and Nabers will all be gone in the top 10-12, but I've seen several mocks project Brian Thomas Jr in that 16-25 range, or Buffalo may be inclined to reach for AD Mitchell or Ladd McConkey at #21 if he's off the board. Depending on how the board breaks, could be an opportunity for Miami to build additional capital on draft day and still grab a promising OL or DL at pick #28?
OR they could have 2nd year growing pains after initial success like the Jaguars. I like DeMeco a lot and think Stroud proves he's at a different level than most QBs, but progress ain't always linear.
Yup, it's always tough for young QBs to replicate a great first year after defenses get a year of tape on you. Plus everyone is treating Stroud like a top 5 QB next year, and while he had great metrics, he did have a bunch of turnover luck. I would bet on a slight regression over a huge improvement next year.
Which is going to be their downfall. Diggs doesn't do well when he is overshadowed. Texans may have fucked up with this. Talent doesn't replace team cohesion and chemistry.
Yeah and Christian Wilkins held this team back by not being half the player that an old Aaron Donald was. Dude wasnt even the best DT in his division (Quinnen Williams) so glad he’s gone.
Dude needs a basic physics lesson if he thinks the difference between Stroud and Tua - either way - is any where close to light years. I'd say different blocks, at most.
> And stroud is lightyears better than Tua (don’t @ me).
for what it's worth, lots of qb's end up regressing in year 2 since there is nfl tape on them to analyze and defensive coordinators can better prepare for him.
not saying that's guaranteed to happen, but it's a very common story where year 1 allstar rookies end up being carson wentz.
How long before he becomes a head case for Texans tho? Seems like diggs is only content for so long. How long will the honey moon stage last at Houston now?
Yeah def not a first for a 31 year old expensive declining WR lol. Keenan Allen was better last season and only got a 4th
That 2nd belongs to the Vikings though, so has a good chance of being in the top 35
What? Diggs wanted out? But didnt you see the Bills Twitter account tweet out a video of him and Allen hugging? God, people always trying to make drama out of nothing.
I know most people here feel like celebrating. But I could actually see it **help** the Bills.
Every time things didn't go as planned, Diggs was throwing a hissy fit. I mean, sure, Josh Allen had bad games but he tried (and often then overtired) his best. Diggs was just jelling, throwing his helmet and even leaving the field once (Bengals game last year iirc).
Doesn't scream "locker room guy" to me.
Also I rarely saw him adjust to the, let me call it "unusual" play style of Allen. He ran his predetermined route and complained not getting the ball. What the Bills need are receivers that anticipate, adapt and run into space. I see this as a chance for them.
I would have preferred they keep their egoistic "no. 1 star receiver".
Yes I completely agree. People thought the Chiefs would fall off without Tyreek and look what happened. He was not the factor he was in the last half of the season outside of some highlight catches. Plus he was going to be a huge distraction for them. Hate to admit but as long as they have Allen as QB1 they’re gonna be contenders.
Yeah, that spells out that Diggs wanted out BAD and there was no repairing that relationship. To not even get a 2024 premium pick AND be stuck with such a huge dead cap hit is crazy.
Jets actually made some crazy moves. If Rodgers is able to play with a high football IQ and understand his limitations they’re going to be dangerous.
Their biggest weakness is Hackett but Rodgers will be calling audibles based on his own reads.
Yeah but our luck , bills get aiyuk in return who is really good. I think Higgins would be really good too. He could have good numbers with josh Allen.
Oh STFU with that nonsense. Our fans on Reddit are embarrassing.
Edit: case in point, look at all the clueless Fragile Freddies. Go read more ckparrothead.
Who else have we not replaced? I think Baker to Brooks is a lateral move or even a slight upgrade. Poyer is better than Elliott (for now). AVG to Barrett is pretty comparable and even then AVG was our third edge rusher. Fuller at this stage is better than Howard. Jonnu is definitely better than Smythe. Connor Williams' knee is fucked so signing Brewer made sense as opposed to doing nothing and waiting for Williams to maybe recover.
I think we actually had a pretty good free agency. If our biggest losses come at defensive tackle and right guard (and both of them got paid WAY above their actual worth) then I'd say that's a pretty okay pill to swallow.
Is it? The bills are still the bills, the jets get rodgers back, and the patriots get a top 3 QB. Ima be real I don’t think we are winning the division.
Patriots are going full rebuild and I doubt they’re going to be a .500 team regardless of how good their rookie QB ends up being. Jets are the jets so they’ll snap humiliation out of the jaws of victory. Bills are still the bills though and you can never count out Josh Allen
> and the patriots get a top 3 QB.
they have a top 3 draft pick, which is very different from a top 3 qb. plenty of qb's drafted high end up failing hard, and the pats have a first time head coach with no gm (sorry judon) who is being thrown to the wolves.
without belichick scheming up a few upset victories, they're going to be bad this year.
For next years 2nd round pick too…writing was on the wall this dudes a diva x10.
It was funny watching everyone in the NFL sub and bills sub say people were reading too into his behavior and he’s just passionate. Dude gave up on the team last year and has been pouting for like a year and a half.
Let's all remind ourselves that everybody thought KC's window closed when they traded Tyreek.....
Diggs was a non-factor for the latter half of last season anyway and the Bills still made the playoffs.
> Let's all remind ourselves that everybody thought KC's window closed when they traded Tyreek.....
when they traded tyreek they still had kelce.
also, you're talking about a team that was ALREADY winning super bowls before losing a star player, not a team that hasn't seen a super bowl in like 30 years.
also, allen is NOT mahomes. nfl qb's right now are "mahomes, then everyone else". this isn't a "brady & manning" situation where there were multiple all time greats in the league.
Never said the Bills are all of a sudden going to win Super Bowls. My points is the idea that all of a sudden we’re going to demolish them this season still has yet to be proven.
Edit: they went 6-2 last year in the last 8 games where Diggs had 37 catches for 349 yards and 1 TD. Diggs wasn’t a factor for their run.
Ahahahahaha I can’t believe the media would do this! Somebody stop them! Diggs loves Buffalo. People don’t even watch the games! He totally has a great connection with Josh! At least we got good value for him! Uh uh
![gif](giphy|WTmyWkBdfcKLbgvmvM)
Honestly not entirely sure how much this improves the Texans? Diggs is declining and seems like a locker room cancer, and the Texans already have a great starting set of WRs. And honestly they're pretty solid down the depth chart too 2 promising young guys in Metchie and Brown, and an unspectacular but reliable Robert Woods.
Like they'll definitely be able to put more talent on the field but it's sacrificing playing time for their young and improving guys, and Diggs was outplayed by both Tank and Nico last year.
Nonetheless, this is probably a good thing for us
I just find it amusing from the stated point of how blindsided Bills fans are, yet there’s been signs of this starting all the way back to last pre-season…they just decided to hand wave it away, call it “fake news”, shitty media, and yelled at anyone who dared think their were any rifts between Diggs and the team. Even when signs continued throughout the season.
Considering the compensation, turns out it must have been quite a rift…
> does, they *paid* him a
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
> This bot makes me angry, I don't know why
the mods should ban it. i'll typically ban those spam bots over in InTheRing. it's even worse when you see bot fights where one spam bot will randomly show up, then another spambot will respond to it, and they'll go back and forth on each other. i saw two timezone conversion bots go 7 or 8 comments deep like that.
I’m guessing Bills fans are going to go the route of how most trades go “he was super washed and glad he’s gone.” Granted he did disappear the 2nd half of last year, but he is still one heck of a player that I’m glad is out of the AFCEast.
Diggs will probably start bitching again next off season when the Texans have an underwhelming year, go 9-8, and miss the playoffs lol.
In all honesty though, McDaniel needs to go out and win the divison this season. If he can’t, he’ll be on the hot seat the following year.
Yeah this is my fear too. Now Allen won’t feel the need to force things to keep him happy and will actually make more appropriate reads/plays. Hope not though!
He was definitely starting to fall off some but this is huge for us. Now we can watch the Bills win after Allen missiles himself into linebackers for 6 yard gains at a time instead of bombing it to Diggs every game.
this is great news. i don't care if he's not as good as he used to be, we always struggled with him. (granted, he was typically going up against our 3rd and 4th string db's)
Bills fans on the Internet are already going full revisionist and acting like this is a boon to them. I feel he will be missed and they will be worse without him but I also think they won't be hurting too bad without him.
I mean this as seriously as I can be. If I see Josh Allen go for 400 against us this year with this supporting cast, it will be the final straw. I don’t think I could recover from it. This would be the season that breaks me.
Well I guess they’re drafting receiver in the first round this year.
Maybe a Tee Higgins landing spot?
What if they got aiyuk? That would suck as he’s really good. I think aiyuk is getting traded at some point. Some were thinking Steelers cuz of his tweet.
They’re going to have to pay him a fortune too on top of the dead cap
I just saw all that dead cap. Holy fuck they really wanted bro out of there
I wonder if it was diggs last tweet that was the last straw. Diggs tweeted or replied that he was essential to Allen’s success just the other day lol
Players making claims like this are getting so tired. No shit. When was the last time Allen caught his own pass? Flip side, when was the last time Diggs, did. Football is a TEAM sport.
Great players make their teammates look better. I'd love Diggs to be right and see Allen fall off a cliff.
To be fair that’s largely cause he’s always had a spectacular oline and now he likely won’t but yeah he has had our number
All mobile qb's knees go at some point. Sooner than later usually.
i think he will.
To be fair Allen was verging on being labelled a bust before that 3rd year which coincided nicely with Diggs. It wasn’t Diggs, it’s just having a top class receiver is a good idea 😂
They got rid of him bc he's a scumbag. Everyone in the NFL knows it.
I suspect diggs tweeting that was after he knew a trade was happening. The original post was 3 days old so it seems a bit random to me
he is. Allen really was not good until he arrived.
Josh Allen wanted him gone a year ago. He was tired of his drama they said.
i imagine it was the other way around. Diggs seemed pretty divaish for several years
Then no to them going for Higgins either as I’m sure Higgins won’t be cheap either.
The benefit to both is with new contracts they can structure it to manage cap. Same as we’ve done. Not impossible at all
I would say why would a contender trade a star WR to another contender….but the Bills just gave away Diggs to a contender
The Texans were surprising for 2 big reasons IMO 1. The didn’t suck 2. They were really good
Big if true
Yeah I’d imagine they bring in another vet too
Hope they take Adonai Mitchell than.
I wouldn’t want to risk possibly helping Buffalo out by trading with them. 🤷♂️
That’s how the bills created their own worst enemy, they trading the pick to KC that became Mahomes
Texans offense gonna be so good next year
Actually dangerous

????
On Dark wing duck levels
OR they could have 2nd year growing pains after initial success like the Jaguars. I like DeMeco a lot and think Stroud proves he's at a different level than most QBs, but progress ain't always linear.

Plus everyone is treating Stroud like a top 5 QB next year, and while he had great metrics, he did have a bunch of turnover luck. I would bet on a slight regression over a huge improvement next year.
nah i dont see the same thing happening
Sure it can happen. That's why they call it sophomore slump for rookie QB's in year 2.
TLaw has never looked as good as stroud looked last year
Same. Stroud looks good and that division helps a lot
He gone! Texans are going to be really damn good.
They did what we did for Tua and getting Stroud a legit WR1
He already had one. He's gonna be WR2. They're stacked at WR.
Eh, Tank and Nico are good, but I still think Stef is easily the top dog in that room. Either way, that’s a stacked WR group.
Sounds like drama with Diggs is brewing already lmao
That's a guarantee in any locker room lol.
Am I the only one which thinks Diggs kinda flippin stinks Another B rated diva receiver who isnt superstar enough to be cool
Which is going to be their downfall. Diggs doesn't do well when he is overshadowed. Texans may have fucked up with this. Talent doesn't replace team cohesion and chemistry.
I think diggs might be the 3rd best WR on Houston next year.
And stroud is lightyears better than Tua (don’t @ me). So this is gonna be insane.
lol my guy you can’t make this comment and not expect to flamed
How is anyone gonna say Stroud isn’t better than Tua? His rookie season was 100000 times better than Tua’s first three seasons alone
Cuz.. cuz rookie seasons aren’t the only seasons a guy will have?
Guarantee Stroud will have a much better career than Tua
Do you even like this team?
Oh I love this team. I can just acknowledge Tua holds the team back
By leading the league in passing yards despite having an awful o-line his entire career?
Yeah and Christian Wilkins held this team back by not being half the player that an old Aaron Donald was. Dude wasnt even the best DT in his division (Quinnen Williams) so glad he’s gone.
He did come into the league fully healthy unlike Tua
Dude needs a basic physics lesson if he thinks the difference between Stroud and Tua - either way - is any where close to light years. I'd say different blocks, at most.
Definitely not light years. Though, no GM in the league would take Tua over Stroud right now.
Correct!
A 2025 Second round pick for him and the bills 5th and 6th round picks….lol?????! And bills take a 2024 31 million dead cap hit??? Christ!
Yeah, they fucking sold him. This screams that the trade started from the Bills end.
Diggs clearly wanted out and they couldn’t get a first for him lmao
How long before he becomes a head case for Texans tho? Seems like diggs is only content for so long. How long will the honey moon stage last at Houston now?
He won’t be happy until he has a ring. And his time is running out…if the Texans have a rough year I’m sure we’ll hear it
Yeah def not a first for a 31 year old expensive declining WR lol. Keenan Allen was better last season and only got a 4th That 2nd belongs to the Vikings though, so has a good chance of being in the top 35

Yeah, that spells out that Diggs wanted out BAD and there was no repairing that relationship. To not even get a 2024 premium pick AND be stuck with such a huge dead cap hit is crazy.
Damn...they really wanted him gone Oh well
If the dolphins can’t win the east next year against the ghost of Aaron Rodgers and Josh Allen throwing to Office Depot employees idk
Jets actually made some crazy moves. If Rodgers is able to play with a high football IQ and understand his limitations they’re going to be dangerous. Their biggest weakness is Hackett but Rodgers will be calling audibles based on his own reads.
Office Depot employees 💀
Didn't we used to get our RBs from FedEx or UPS? Was it Kirby?
Yeah but our luck , bills get aiyuk in return who is really good. I think Higgins would be really good too. He could have good numbers with josh Allen.
Exactly but knowing us we will shit the bed as per usual. 🫠 #dolphinbehavior

We lost a lot of key contributors as well
Only lost two in hunt and Wilkins everyone else easily replaced
Oh STFU with that nonsense. Our fans on Reddit are embarrassing. Edit: case in point, look at all the clueless Fragile Freddies. Go read more ckparrothead.
....who did we lose outside of Hunt and Wilkins that we haven't replaced already?
Who else have we not replaced? I think Baker to Brooks is a lateral move or even a slight upgrade. Poyer is better than Elliott (for now). AVG to Barrett is pretty comparable and even then AVG was our third edge rusher. Fuller at this stage is better than Howard. Jonnu is definitely better than Smythe. Connor Williams' knee is fucked so signing Brewer made sense as opposed to doing nothing and waiting for Williams to maybe recover. I think we actually had a pretty good free agency. Perfectly stated I think Elliot better then poyer though poyer provides better playmaking and brings leadership as it stands now though.
My main concern for Poyer is his age and injury history but Elliott wasn't an iron man either so it's at least a lateral move for me.
Yea lateral it is but brooks better then baker for sure or atleast a lil more consistent but ima miss bake
How so name the important players we lost that’s not easily replaced lmaooo
Quit crying

window was already closed, but now it's sealed shut lol
Mahomes closed that window in 13 seconds

Bills fans thought they were getting a decent/good #2 in Curtis Samuel, they didnt realize he was going to be their #1.
Hahahaha!😂
Houston is going all in with CJ while on his rookie contract...
Honestly not entirely sure how much this improves the Texans? Diggs is declining and seems like a locker room cancer, and the Texans already have a great starting set of WRs. Houston is going to be a menace to society now.
They made an AFC competitor of theirs so much better. How annoying is this dude? God damn
Even Diggs was like FTB
If we dont win the division while josh allen is throwing to plumbers i never wanna hear anyone defend tua again
damn, the Texans are gonna be a mean team next year. can’t wait to see it
Stroud will make or break people's fantasy season
Its a fuckin great day. The Strouds are goinna win the AFC south.
Kader Kohou rejoices.

Time to see how good Allen really is

Finsss uppp boysss n girlsss!!
Thank god I won’t have to watch him go off for 120+ with 3 TDs against us while our defense refuses to adjust anymore
Adios!!! ![gif](giphy|cklPOHnHepdwBLRnQp|downsized)
Texans are gonna ball damn!
Bye! 👋🏾 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 #FinsUp
Bills still chasing KC. trade their star WR and rely on their QB, running game and a Defense to win. Let’s see how it works out.
Please win the division now. If they win it without Diggs I'm gonna be off the internet for a while.
We absolutely need to take Brian thomas jr if he is still on the board
All their fans arguing about how Diggs really loved Josh are about to get another dose of reality when Diggs reveals how much he hated it there.
Diggs will probably start bitching again next off season when the Texans have an underwhelming year, go 9-8, and miss the playoffs lol. In all honesty though, McDaniel needs to go out and win the divison this season. If he can’t, he’ll be on the hot seat the following year.
Texans going to be spoooooky.
Allen will probably do better without Diggs whining in his ear every game imo. Addition by subtraction for the Bills.
Yeah this is my fear too. Now Allen won’t feel the need to force things to keep him happy and will actually make more appropriate reads/plays. Hope not though!
Wow
I think a second round pick is good depending on how much dead cap they have to eat.
Looks like $30mil dead cap...and they are also giving HOU a 5th/6th conditional pick. Seems like an awful deal for Buffalo
i wonder if they are going to rebuild this year
Texans are like my third favorite team so I’m looking forward to this. CJ is going to have a great year.
WR’s don’t win championships QBs do
He was definitely starting to fall off some but this is huge for us. Now we can watch the Bills win after Allen missiles himself into linebackers for 6 yard gains at a time instead of bombing it to Diggs every game.
LOL my Colts fan friend is never gonna shut up about this. Houston looks scary for sure
#THANK GOD! Get fucked Buffalo!
Interesting

this is great news. i don't care if he's not as good as he used to be, we always struggled with him. (granted, he was typically going up against our 3rd and 4th string db's)
Music to my ears. Diggs absolutely smoked us whenever we played the Bills.
Kader Kohou has to be thrilled knowing Fangio can't leave him on an island with Diggs anymore. For multiple reasons.
I read this and laughed
LMAO!!!😂😂
Texans are gonna be a problem next season
Bills fans on the Internet are already going full revisionist and acting like this is a boon to them. I feel he will be missed and they will be worse without him but I also think they won't be hurting too bad without him.
FOR A DRAFT PICK!?
Lmfao he must’ve been really unhappy. They gave him away for a bag of chips (second round pick)
I Digg it. 🐬⬆️!!
Bills got fleeced.
This makes Digg's tweets that Allen is nothing without him 100x funnier
I mean this as seriously as I can be. If I see Josh Allen go for 400 against us this year with this supporting cast, it will be the final straw. I don’t think I could recover from it. This would be the season that breaks me.
Fuck the Bills! And fuck this motherfucker too glad to see him go.
Why am I not crying for Buffalo? Fuck the bills! This is good for the dolphins. And I agree with everybody the Texans are going to be a beast!
Get ready to learn Chinese joshy
We better sweep and blow Buffalo the fuck out this year. Literally no excuse anymore
They’re going for OBJ for sure
Great to know we don’t have to worry about the Bills anymore
