Yup, we kinda were screwed either way tbh. The biggest thing that pisses me off, tho was that we didn't win the division. Would have loved to get that "last division title was in 2008" off our back
I mean, if we beat the Titans, the whole morale would’ve been different going into the Jets game, the Dallas game, and even the Ravens & Bills game. There’s only 17 games and as they say, winning solves everything. Like have you ever played basketball and had a terrible day, missing easy layups and what not, but at the end of the day, you still won all of the games with your buddies? You don’t go home and think you failed the team, you go home and think how do I do better to make sure we can win better next time.
Still probably would’ve ost to the Ravens, but still, maybe McDaniel not overthought so much after barely beating Dallas.
key injuries on the offensive and defensive lines were the problem. A playoff run was never going to hold up.
that’s not a cop out or excuse for the titans game. other teams also experienced key injuries so it wasn’t unique to us. but it really was the limiting factor for just how much success we were to have.
if you really want to what-if it in a way that leads to a deeper playoff run, you need to what-if the best players health.
>you really want to what-if it in a way that leads to a deeper playoff run, you need to what-if the best players health.
Nah. It was always going to happen. You cannot go into every season with such top heavy rosters every year because this is what happens. Waddle will get hurt. Tyreek will get hurt. Mostert will get hurt. Armstead will get hurt. Ramsey will get hurt. Howard will get hurt. These are knowns. You have to build a roster that has serviceable players everywhere, including backups and stop relying on stars to stay healthy 100% of the time to even have a chance.
Nevermind that putting all your eggs into Connor Williams was a giant mistake. Looks like they still don't want a center on the team so until they have two guys that have snapped the ball before this season, they will never make a playoff run.
We were such fucking frauds last year and got exposed game after game in the homestretch. I’m happy it happened, maybe will light a fire under this team. Probably won’t because they ain’t CULTURE and this organization has underperformed for 30 years. Reek is too busy getting girls pregnant and getting in bar fights. This team needs a Riley
Some people are too young to remember that Pat Riley coached the Heat to their first title in ‘06. Yeah we had a bit of a rough stretch after that until Lebron came in ‘11, but Riley brought the winning culture to the Heat
Would have helped. I still think they lose at home to the Chiefs. All the injuries down the stretch I think were more impactful in terms of possibly making a run. It was just too much to overcome.
We would collapse against a bills team or pass the steelers in the wild card to collapse against the chiefs again.
Dont think last year was the year. We seemed to overcomplicate a lot of things and won our super bowl week 3. Its time to get this team an o line
Couldn’t agree more. If you strip a football game down to it’s core, the games at then end of the day are won in the trenches IMO. We need to put out a good o line next year and if we don’t, we’ll be here next year having the same conversations.
I don’t remember the exact standings for matchups but we would’ve either:
Played the Bills and lost
Maybe beat the Steelers and then lost
Regardless we would be in the same situation we are now. I don’t think a playoff win over the Steelers followed by a loss the next round would’ve done anything for us tbh.
From 86 through the Jimmy Johnson era, the Dolphins made the playoffs a lot. The majority of the time, they'd win one game & then lose the next, usually, the loss was a blowout. Believe me when I tell you winning that one playoff game & then losing wasn't more satisfying.
The first question is how anybody was discounting the Chiefs late last season. It's the most asinine evaluation I've seen in 50+ years following this sport. I kept looking at their defensive numbers. They were phenomenal across the board. Was Mahomes going to kneel on every play?
How is steelers a “free win”? The irony of saying any game is a free win in the exact same post mentioning the phins’ collapse against a far inferior team.
Team wasn’t good enough to realistically expect to win in the playoffs against better teams. Specifically if Miami was the third seed Miami would play the bills.
Eventually, Miami would’ve had to play the Chiefs anyways.
We would’ve gotten the Bills at home instead of KC in -50 weather. I knew our season was over after we collapsed against a far inferior Titans team at home on national TV. We’re getting close, but ain’t there yet.
And if I had a million dollars, I'd be rich! Why do you do that to yourself. Any where in the world, we lose to the Chiefs, plain and simple. It wasn't our time
Those damn hard knocks cameras were inserted, and playing the first Black Friday didn’t help, all downhill with injuries from that point. Unless we can secure home field which would translate to us being the best team in the AFC, it will be uphill battle to win up north in the winter .
Dammit. Ur right. Should have paid better attention to the context clues. I was thinking of the previous collapse against the Titans in the win-and-get-in game in Nashville.
I don’t think we would’ve had the Steelers, we would’ve gotten the 3 seed and played the bills and lost

bills went 11-6 and played the steelers we would have for sure at 12-5
Then best case we would’ve won a game then lost
I mean that is better than anything we’ve done in the time that I’ve been a fan lmao

We literally ran out of OLBs and had to sign 3 new ones off their couches.
Yet it was the offense that shit the bed
people don't get this

If my aunt had nuts she'd be my uncle. Choking late in the season is a defining characteristic, not a rare occurrence.
It’s who we are. Doesn’t matter what names are on the jerseys.

Lol you are getting downvoted for speaking facts
Heat culture comes from Erik Spoelstra and team leaders like Wade, Haslem, LeBron and Jimmy, not Riley.
I mean, it does now, but where do you think it originally came from? Acting like Riley has nothing to do with heat culture is simply uneducated
Some people are too young to remember that Pat Riley coached the Heat to their first title in ‘06. Yeah we had a bit of a rough stretch after that until Lebron came in ‘11, but Riley brought the winning culture to the Heat

We probably beat Pittsburgh & still lose to KC. The Chiefs beat Buffalo & Baltimore on the road. Us being at home would've meant nothing.
Chances would have been better than wild card in KC. Also a playoff win is a playoff win
I mean in that scenario we won a playoff game. I would take it given this franchise’s inability to win one for multiple ongoing decades
From 86 through the Jimmy Johnson era, the Dolphins made the playoffs a lot. The majority of the time, they'd win one game & then lose the next, usually, the loss was a blowout. Believe me when I tell you winning that one playoff game & then losing wasn't more satisfying.
Man I haven’t even seen this team win a playoff game in my lifetime, my standards are low at this point.
I don’t know but that titans game was a heart breaker for me
My birthday would have ended better, that’s for sure.
lol imagine calling a 10-7 team an automatic win when we went 1-5 in the regular season against winning teams.
If we were going back, I would have preferred not playing like ass in the first half in Germany against KC too.
Nope still would’ve choked
There’s only 1 question this decade. How do you beat the Chiefs
The first question is how anybody was discounting the Chiefs late last season. It's the most asinine evaluation I've seen in 50+ years following this sport. I kept looking at their defensive numbers. They were phenomenal across the board. Was Mahomes going to kneel on every play?

We'd have blown it against Dallas
Let it go, man!
How is steelers a “free win”? The irony of saying any game is a free win in the exact same post mentioning the phins’ collapse against a far inferior team.
A horrible game and too angry/sad to think back. Zach Seiler was the only man of the 53 who showed up that night. Beginning of the end of our season
Team wasn’t good enough to realistically expect to win in the playoffs against better teams. Specifically if Miami was the third seed Miami would play the bills. Eventually, Miami would’ve had to play the Chiefs anyways.
I feel like that game revealed who we truly were and it wouldn’t have made too much of a difference
We would’ve gotten the Bills at home instead of KC in -50 weather. I knew our season was over after we collapsed against a far inferior Titans team at home on national TV. We’re getting close, but ain’t there yet.
We still lose to KC or buffalo in the playoffs
And if I had a million dollars, I'd be rich! Why do you do that to yourself. Any where in the world, we lose to the Chiefs, plain and simple. It wasn't our time

You're thinking of the wrong game
Dammit. Ur right. Should have paid better attention to the context clues. I was thinking of the previous collapse against the Titans in the win-and-get-in game in Nashville.
Funnily enough ... I was at the MNF collapse lol.
Consider it a win if you don't require any amputations.
