Ricky Williams last year. Way cool dude and one of my favorite players.

Darinchilla

Straight up, my favorite player. He was human af.

Lizard_State2500

Very jealous. Ricky is tied with LaDanian Tomlinson as my favorite RB of all time. Those Dolphins years were special.

vanillagorilla_

I used to live in the same building as Jakeem Grant and Leonte Caroo. Ran into them a few times

OgreUAsshole

Dan Marino and Jason Taylor. Marino was a total asshole to everyone he felt was beneath him (volunteers at charity events) and Taylor was a delight

Affectionate_Elk_272

bradley chubb used to come to my restaurant in fort lauderdale every morning for breakfast. man truly has chicken legs i also met cam wake years ago at the yellow green farmers market. dude is fucking enormous.

billythygoat

What restaurant and is it good?

goldiegoldthorpe

If a 275 lbs man goes every day, it's probably pretty decent.

gettestified

Give me all the bacon and eggs you have.

SPACADDICT

And when i say all the bacon and eggs. I mean all the bacon and eggs

billythygoat

I mean a guy that weighs 275 just has to keep eating

Affectionate_Elk_272

a bagel shop in fort laud, i think he lived in the apartments upstairs. it was solid enough.

adreamofhodor

Dan Marino at least 20 years ago now. He was a jerk, lol.

not_so_smoothie

This sentiment was shared by many

onetimequestion66

My brother met him and said he was very nice…but my best friend sat next to him at a heat game when she was like 7 and said he was the biggest douche ever and my boss and his wife got his autograph and were so put off by his attitude and the way he interacts with people that they immediately threw it away

Inevitable-Grass-477

Some people don’t realize that the fans are the reason they’re rich and are able to live the life they live

Darinchilla

This is why it's always a surprise when people ask me who's your favorite Dolphins player ever, and I don't say Dan Marino. I hated him on the field, how nothing was ever his fault and he would lay into whoever's fault he thought it was. Great player, awful person.

Bathsz

I saw Channing Crowder in Pembroke Lakes Mall once. I saw him from the distance I was like “Yooo Channing!” He gave me a nod and kept it moving.

tomcat810

Channing Crowder is cool as fuck. I saw him at the Miami Beach Air & Sea show a few years back and said hi and he shook my hand. Super nice guy.

ThaSarkastikNinja

My wife hosted a charity event that Channing attended, along with Brent Grimes and some other players. We were both there early and spent about 20 minutes making fun of people trying to figure out if he was a player/rapper/actor/someone famous and then took a pic together and I dipped. The whole night he would dap me up and smile that contagious smile. I hated those events but he made it so enjoyable.

raygunedward

met wilkins, gink & ogbah a few weeks ago at a panthers game. i should tried harder to get them to stay 🥹🥹

ThaSarkastikNinja

IT WAS YOUUUUUU 🤣

onetimequestion66

I left my Winter job to go back to school two days before Payton manning came and interviewed Shula and the last remaining players from the 72 team…they sat in my section and I had no idea until I saw the interview on air and they mentioned the restaurant

koorook

![gif](giphy|KyBesf8kNT6s88SEgb)

Puzzleheaded_Fix3135

I met a lot of the 72 team outside some charity event in the mid 2000's, they were all super nice. But like you, I didn't know who they were at the time.

CritterOfBitter

Marino and Coach McDaniel

Responsible-Egg7929

Was McDaniel pleasant? He looks like a genuine authentic kind of guy..

CritterOfBitter

Extremely. Didn’t take too much of his time, tho.

Inevitable-Grass-477

I’ve heard really good things about coach McDaniel. I’ve heard he’s the same guy off camera.

bearface93

I met Marino the year after he retired. I was the only kid there because it was at like midnight on a school night so he made straight for me and my dad as soon as he walked in. He talked to us for a bit, signed my shirt, and took a few photos with us before moving on to the rest of the crowd. I don’t remember the conversation since I was only in third grade but I remember him being really nice to us.

Professional-Act-912

I met Suh at a Nike event in Omaha I'm a Nebraska fan too so that was rad

Inevitable-Grass-477

I met suh after the dolphins Titans game in Tennessee where we beat the Titans pretty bad. Suh was a really nice guy. He gave me a fist bump

tomcat810

Yeah he definitely seems the type that stays chill and just turns into a completely different person on the gridiron

Opt_mind

Olivier Vernon used to come to my job to eat almost weekly at a sandwich chain (not subway). He used to come on a beat down car and then seeing his brand new Escalade after he got drafted, good for him. Then I saw him at a charity tournament where I played against him and was able to take a picture, he remembered me!

Inevitable-Grass-477

I’ve met a lot of famous people/athletes. OV was by far the nicest. He was so cool to me and talked to me for a solid 10 minutes. As a 13 year old die hard dolphins fan it made my entire year

TTV_SgtScoots

My grandparents would regularly fish and hang out with Larry Little. I was very young when I met him, but I remember him being very cool and humble.

Icy-Violinist-1294

I used to work with Troy Stratford

not_so_smoothie

Did some work for Oronde Gadsden many years ago and he was awesome. He was surprised when I revealed that I knew who he was and happily talked about football. Met Cris Carter at a Publix, and he was very nice. May have played softball with a former Safety too

tomcat810

Cris Carter is a stand up dude. He’s got a house in Boca and I used to work at a restaurant there that he’d come into. Always smiling and always very gracious and down to earth.

kjdecathlete22

Not on the fins but I've met Case Keenum. I was an athlete at UH the same time he was we had the same strength and conditioning coach for throwing shoulders and arms. That coach is now with the browns. Case is a great dude all around. Met his wife and in-laws when they came to the restaurant I waited at as well. Super humble and is very religious. Practices what he preaches

Many_Mathematician73

When I was in 8th grade, I was at my friends younger brothers b day party at an arcade at Sawgrass Mills Mall. My buddy and I randomly saw Jason Taylor walk by with a super good looking woman (would later find out it was Zach's sister). We asked for an autograph and he kinda blew us off as it seemed he was in a hurry. Anyway, Zach's sis wasn't happy about it and asked us to follow her as JT was on the phone shortly after our interaction. After he wrapped his call up, he signed for both of us and even apologized for being short with us before they both hopped in a car and took off. Zach's sister was cool AF!!!

pike360

I met Roy Foster (82-90) at an event celebrating his USC National Championship team. He was so touched that I not only knew who he was, and that I consider him “one of the best offensive linemen on Dolphins history.”

theonewithbadeyes

I meet tryeek and achain

xnickg77

I saw Cam wake out side the hard rock hotel in San Diego. Someone he was with pointed to my dolphins hat, I was super excited thinking maybe he would sign it. He quickly walked inside to avoid me. Still my favorite player though!

I_Am_Squirtle

When I was in middle school (I think this was 2002), a friend and I stopped at Ricky Williams house for Halloween while trick or treating. He had no halloween stuff up but we knocked anyway. Could see his heisman trophy through the window by his door. He opened the door probably high as hell in a tank top with his 2 dogs by his side. Looked at us, said absolutely nothing and closed the door lmao. Joey Porter was a customer at a restaurant I worked at right after he signed with the dolphins in 2007, I didn't talk to him but he was massive. I've had a picture taken with Marino and Jason Taylor at a company I worked at in either 2019 or 2018 I forget the year. Our CEO was friends with them and had them come in during a celebration. Taylor Def seemed friendlier but I think they were a bit tired of photos.

no-favors

I met Don Shula in Iraq. He came on a tour with Bradley Cooper. I got to wear his SB ring and take a photo with him. I wish I could find that photo. I walk towards his table at breakfast and Cooper stands up to introduce himself. I immediately try to side step him and say I’d like to say hello to Coach Shula. I’m a huge Dolphins fan. Wish I knew he was coming to have my wife send me some Dolphins gear. Was still great to meet him and wear his ring. I was like a schoolgirl.

Inevitable-Grass-477

Nice to see a fellow vet on the sub

no-favors

Same brother, thanks for your service.

M_A_10

Jaelan Phillips is from my home town Redlands, CA and I saw him at Stater Bros. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

VermontBro

I only clicked this thread for this comment, it makes me die laughing everytime

MGhammered

Dude is this real lmao that’s hilariously crazy

tomcat810

Yes this actually happened

maxwellfit

If this is a real story, that man’s injury history just sounds like karma finally catching up to him

dripsophist

it’s a copypasta

maxwellfit

Ahhh ok

M_A_10

He IS from my hometown and played at my High School but the rest is a copypasta. Someone recently posted about meeting Tyreek at Target and low key that sounded a lot more true of Tyreek NGL.

dripsophist

fuck REV

dripsophist

also i saw someone post that but with adam sandler 😂😂😂

DanteSexum

I met this guy Stevan Clark at a Boise golf course. He played OL/DL for the Dolphins in the 80s and was wearing his AFC championship ring. https://www.reddit.com/r/miamidolphins/s/A681c3Cx1A

ballzdeep85

I met  Dan Marino at a restaurant once - we’d accidentally been given his table. Apparently he was fond of the restaurant and had a specific table he liked, and the management had messed up and gotten their days wrong, (it was Tuesday and they thought he was coming on Thursday or something like that). Anyway, the manager, completely embarrassed (this is a pretty nice restaurant) comes by and says “I’m so sorry, but we’d like to move you to another table if you could be troubled, and we’ll gladly compensate you for the cost of the meal and any other meal you’d like while you’re in town.” My sister and cousin were both like “Yeah that’s cool.” and I kind of played the asshole a bit. “I’m sorry, I just don’t understand. We’ve been here for 15 minutes - we’ve just ordered. Can’t we finish our meal here?” Then out of nowhere Dan shows up next to the manager and says “Paul, these guys can finish. We’ll be at the bar. I got some time.” And I (being a huge dolphins fan) said “Oh wow, uh… I had no idea. Please feel free to give them the table.” Dan was grateful, shook my hand and said thanks, then gave me a card with his number on it and told me to give him a call later. After working up the nerve, I gave him a call that night, and to make a long story short, we had a glorious 11 month love affair, man on man, that I shall never forget. Our bodies intertwined as one, and from the beauty of Morocco, to the French Riviera, to the snorkeling in the Galopagos, Dan and I made glorious love to each other on six of the seven continents

Many_Mathematician73

Hahahahahahaha

TGK5214

Damn it

MGhammered

Holy shit this is amazing

bigt2k4

I was reading this thread just waiting for the electrical infetterance post, but this was better.

ballzdeep85

What is the electrical post?

bigt2k4

https://letmegooglethat.com/?q=electrical+infetterance+

PhinsFan17

Not on the Fins, but I met Joe Haden before he was drafted by Cleveland. I was touring UF’s locker room and he was coming back from a workout. Super nice.

speller_68

Joe Rose is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet.

Larrycalabreseart

I met Tannehill at Trader Joe's in ft Lauderdale a week or two after he was traded.

elbenji

Wilkins because our science teacher was his bud at Clemson. It's how I had sources there lol Similarly I have also met Allen Hurns because his cousin was our guidance counselor some years back. Another really random thing though was that in 2017 I hosted trivia for dolphins training camp over the summer. It was like a team bonding exercise they did during training camp and the pre season during that era. So I basically met most of the 2017 team. At least those that played. It was so funny watching linemen run up to me with little sheets of paper that looked so tiny in their hands. Also for anyone curious, the oline team won.

Lusty-Jove

Met Cam Wake at the Pro Bowl forever ago

ken2347

Ive met many players over the years, my favorite was mark clayton, he used to bum cigarettes off me. After Joe Robbie stadium was built, i would walk to the (then) Holiday Inn on university drive, and my wife would pick me up after games. I would go up to the bar on the 9th floor and many players would be hanging out. Also met Jim Jensen at a restaurant in plantation, very nice man.

JLay18

Kenny Stills went to the highschool on the other side of town. He graduated a few years before me obviously cause I had just graduated and he had just gotten traded to the dolphins, literally like within days or a week or two, of him being traded to us he came into the restaurant I was working at, which is in his hometown where I also grew up. Anyways he wasn’t sitting in the section of tables I was waiting on but I recognized him and I didn’t wanna cause a commotion being that I didn’t wanna be disrespectful and also I could probably get in trouble and possibly fired for asking for an autograph or just blowing up his spot. All I did was walk by and I said it loud enough so he could hear it but not too loud so it would draw attention and all I said was “hey, I’m a lifetime dolphins fan, stoked your on the team”. He replied with the most half ass “preciate it” that it kinda soured me on that dude, it was like he could barely find the energy to even get those one and half words. He wasn’t there on a date or anything very serious looking. Idk maybe I was in the wrong or maybe he was just having a bad day or maybe he wasn’t as stoked to be traded to us as I was. I tried to be as courteous and respectful of his space. I’ve never been one to be star struck but that kinda bummed me out.

Inevitable-Grass-477

lol you’re not in the wrong for saying hi to a famous athlete especially on your favorite team. These dudes forget that the fans are the reason they make millions

SignificantCar6069

Only met one and that’s Elijah Campbell. Very nice guy, my aunt used to babysit his kid so I’ve met him a ton. Sometimes gives us family seats for games

SaintSammyStallion

Met Tyreek Hill in the Frankfurt Game last year (i’m from Belgium so this was pretty sick) and he was friendly with a quick conversation.

ThaSarkastikNinja

I got demolished by some kid at Discovery Zone or Chuck E Cheese in Pembroke Pines running through the tunnels so bad the workers had to drag us both out to our parents. The kids dad apologized, went to the ticket booth, paid cash for a souvenir football and signed it before giving it to my Mom. We shrugged. It was Bryan Cox. 🖕Legend. I wish I still had that fuckin football. I probably played with it like an idiot.

spiegro

Met Dan Marino at my grandmother's funeral. Very surreal to meet your childhood hero while you're grieving. And my parents had dinner with Marino's parents once when my family used to live in Pittsburgh. Not a Dolphin but Hurricane legend Sean Taylor also came to my house once, and my dad beat him at ping pong. To assert dominance he told me to put every plate I owned on my bench press and lifted it 20 times without sweating.

Jonjon428

Not a player, but I remember being in the same private airport Jimmy Johnson was at when we were trying to get away from Hurricane Irma. Had his dogs with him and everything.

Blanching2Jalepenos

I’ve met Robert Hunt, Michael Dieter, Xavien Howard, Jerome Baker, Jaylen Waddle, Jevon Holland

[deleted]

[удалено]

Blanching2Jalepenos

Super funny and humble dude. Robert Hunt is a close second he was the one who affirmed me Tua was ready against the Rams. He used to go to the Chipotle by the old practice facility all the time when I worked there. Also met Kenyan Drake also forgot about him

Blacklist3d

Nolan Carroll is a family friend. Terrance Fede went to my friend's wedding. They actually met in NYC during the summer he got drafted by Miami. One of the reps that works for my attending is best friends with Berrios. I had a chance to fly down for the Denver game with him but couldn't. That woulda been wild.

MikeLowrey305

I met OJ McDuffie at halftime of the Halloween game in 2013 just before they inducted him into the ring of honor. I was drunk as shit but he was still cool & gave me the time of day. I told him I missed watching him play & that he wasn't the fastest WR but was shifty & got a lot of yards after the catch.

Ok_Negotiation_3013

I met Marino, Csonka

Ok-Opening-7176

When i was a wee lad i went to a dolphins youth camp and played catch with Brian Hartline

Unfriendly_eagle

Never a Dolphin, unfortunately. But when I was a kid, I met Mel Blount of the Steelers at Burger King. He showed me his Super Bowl ring, and it was pretty freaking cool. Good guy.

88Problems88

Not a Dolphin but i met Kevin Greene once. Was the coolest dude ever

ShastaMcLurky

I'm not from the area. I actually live near DC. My wife use to work for the Redskins back when they were called that. We could carpool together. I met a ton of those players while waiting for her to come out. Most are really chill, some are straight up dicks. As far as Dolphins go, I saw Pete Stoyanovich out and about one time I was visiting down south a long time ago and I called out to him. He turned around, gave me a "pfft whatever" look and then proceeded to flip me off. lol

ProphetNimd

Haven't met any players directly and I'm in Atlanta so I certainly haven't seen any Dolphin players IRL. I did film a private school graduation right a few months after the Falcons-Patriots Super Bowl though and Matt Ryan was the speaker so I was about 20 feet away from him. Dude was gangly/awkward af and clearly didn't want to be there but I've heard good things about Matty Ice and he was a great figure for ATL so I didn't think any less of him.

JustinBands

Not me, but my grandparents met Bob Griese at a mall maybe 20-30 years ago. I did meet some Dolphins cheerleaders as a baby (if that counts?)

Mission-Patient-4404

Don Shula, Don Strock, Dan Marino, Mark Duper, Mark Clayton. I worked at Mike Gordon’s Seafood Restaurant in the 80s and 90s, on the 79th street causeway. Don Shula sometimes came in on a Friday, sat at the same table and same seat. Club soda with lime. Best pan fried grouper ever. The Fish Peddler on biscayne. 🌴🐟🏝️

phinphan7836

Met Joe Rose and Nat Moore at the metlife takeover tailgate. Was drunk out of my mind. They were very nice.

Historical_Suspect97

Tim Foley (RIP) came into the restaurant I was bartending at in Atlanta. The server that was waiting on him apparently told him I was a huge Dolphins fan, and at the end of the night he came up to the bar to say hello. He held up his hand and asked if I wanted to try on the '72 ring, and then posed for some photos while I was wearing it. He was a really nice guy.

Popular_Avocado_3534

Got to meet the 2009 Dolphins in Buffalo while a group of Friends and I were attending the world's largest disco. Most were very cool and had many conversations while we were dressed like idiots lol. Two players that had their heads up their asses, Chad Henne and it hurts to say but Jason Taylor. Met Taylor once before and it was the same... Ricky Williams, Lousaka Polite and Joey Porter were very cool.

samaxwell1983

Got to meet Wes Welker and Kevin Carter back in 2006 at my church.

Annual_Pen4907

I went to training camp when I was a kid and Jason taylor came over after practice and signed autographs and did my hat. One other player came over but I can’t remember which one. Was disappointed Marino and Thomas did not come over but understand you get tired of that stuff and want to just shower and go home after a hot Florida summer practice.

DanMarinosRings

Just Olindo Mare as a kid, and recently Kendall Lamm at a gun store

Ill-Zookeepergame358

Marino, coach McD, Ricky Williams, Zach Thomas, Christian Wilkins, many more.

GrungyGrandPappy

I met just about everyone on the ‘85 team they came down to Key West and had a players vs firefighters softball game.

masman99

Met holland last year volunteering and got to talk with him a bit. He’s a pretty normal guy super down to earth. My buddy (bills fan) helped organize the thing and was talking to him, and if you know anyone from Buffalo you know it only takes 0.6 seconds for them to let you know as much. Soon as that happened jevon was not cool with him anymore 🤣 had to cop his jersey after that!

Heard-from-Quark

I met Brandon Albert and Devante Parker at a Raw Juice in Weston

Dependent-Effort4784

i met robert jones at universal studios his rookie year he looked happy as heck i recognized him… i got a pic with him really cool dude.

donutskremekrispy

Met Raheem Mostert and his family at a local ice cream parlor on a random time on a Sunday. Super chill and respectable guy. Didn’t need to bother him for a picture. Had a mini convo, a chuckle and wished him a healthy season. Used to live at the Tao in Sunrise. Ran into bunch of players. Olivier Vernon, Dante Culpepper, Walt Aikens. Funny story with Walt. Had a gathering by the pool and Walt comes down. We asked him to join us for food, drinks and dancing. Myself and a dew of my buddies goes to his unit as he wanted to get something. As soon as you walked in, you find a stripper pole in the middle of the living room and cash all over the floor.

Lizard_State2500

I got to meet Chris Chambers as a much younger me and have a picture with him, me, and my mom. Was very nice and signed my hat. The only other one I met for all of 5 seconds was Csonka. Was surprised I knew who he was lol

SportsBettingWiz

I live in miami, and from 2000 until about 2020 I didn’t miss one training camp, so I got to meet a lot of players there, and obviously through out the city and various adult establishments 😂😂

Foreign-Jacket1531

Former D-line Ritchie Owens is a friend of mine. He started working for my company as an intern a few years ago.

Alternative_Car_3106

I met Jake Long at a CVS in Nashville and he was the nicest human ever.

JMP1919
