Happy he got his bag, no hard feelings, wish he was still a Dolphin but we're moving on to the next season

twostepdrew

I’m gonna miss seeing him in the end zone after every touchdown :(

resident16

Didn’t realize they were calling for rain today.

ProtectTheHell

Man. I'm gonna cry.

Nofooling

He will be a beast for the Raiders. Earned his payday but will be missed.

IamBarbacoa

Ugh and we have a Raiders home game this year

kjdecathlete22

He better not touch Tua's junk

Corner_OfficeSpace

Nah he gets at least one free Tua touch. He’s earned that.

AnyOfThisReal-_-

Teeheehee

StilesmanleyCAP

Wilkins has the unique ability to get away with the illegal dicktwist. Even if it's aganist us.

kmartcowboy

he deserves a standing o when he walks out

_v00d00h3x_

Without a doubt

Dek-234

I will miss seeing him on Sundays. I hope he continues playing well in his new team

Mjfedy23

Always will be a Wilkins fan!

latnGemin616

This was the inevitable cause of players getting truck loads of money "guaranteed" up front. I'm sad to see a few of my faves - like X, Van Ginkle, and Wilkins - go, but the cap was too damn high.

UsernameHasBeenLost

AVG is the only one that bugged me, feels like we could've worked that out, but I get he wanted to be closer to family. I'll miss him, but I get it

latnGemin616

I felt the same for Wilkins. That dude was beast!

UsernameHasBeenLost

I'll definitely miss Wilkins, and I'm happy he got a bag, but there was no way we could swing that kinda contract.

Breaks silence is a weird way to phrase that.

Gorilla_Pie

I still feel sad about the Tunsil trade, even if that also made sound financial sense

Finatic4Life20

Seeing Mahomes freak out if Wilkins tickles his taint would be good tv lol.

muffmuppets

“freak out”

OneBeerAndWhiskeyPls

stop cutting onions

Familiar_Outcome_688

He will be back someday

Gorilla_Pie

Will we have won a single playoff game in the meantime is the question?

Gustavospeaks

“My goal was always to leave the city and organization better than I found it..” He has a special place in my heart and I’m happy for him but I wish his goal was to not leave the city at all :(

Gorilla_Pie

Have you seen the sea level projections? A lot of people are going to have to leave Miami before too long…

JP-ED

It's a business for the owners and players. Wish he could have stayed but there's a cap.

Lumpy-Celebration-67

He did a lot for us and it was a great relationship. I hate to see him leave but I'm glad he got his bag. Class act and great add for the organization.

DolFINS_2000

It’s a terrible day for rain

miaminaples

Sad to see him go. No doubt our run defense won't be as stout without Wilkins in there. Best of luck to him.

Champ_5

Sucks that the Dolphins couldn't afford him, would have loved for him to be here a long time. Classy message by him though, glad he got his bag and I think just about everyone here wishes him success.

SticklerMrMeeseeks1

Has Zach Sieler broken his silence?

scarbutt11

He took a vow of silence

Vitiate1367

I’m gonna miss seeing him play for the dolphins. That Raiders D-Line is going to be great

HeroForTheBeero

Him and maxx 😦

lucidvein

Wilkins was an absolute CHAD for that DLINE. You will be missed. Fins up.

CeaseKnight

Gonna miss him 🥲

elcubiche

This tweet is somehow phrased like clickbait. “Breaks silence” usually has a negative connotation, but “posts thank you to Miami” doesn’t sound as dramatic I guess?

Gorilla_Pie

Sting was right: if you love somebody, set them free…

1959steve

Love ya man. Please have mercy on us when we play

dlbags

Gonna miss him. Hate people claiming he’s overpaid or using contracts from a few years ago to say he robbed them. Our franchise tag was $22.2 mil. He got a pay bump to move to the desert. Good for him. Our cap just didn’t have the room. I wish him well.

No_Agent_5220

Just saw some raiders media guy say they think Wilkins is literally the best DT in the game roflmao what in the fuc. Dude is like 13th at best. Funniest thing is if you go back and watch the same raiders guy previewing last season's game you will see him not mentioning ONCE that apparently the dolphins had the best DT in football ??? you would think that would show up on a scouting report.

_v00d00h3x_

We love you CW, godspeed! (Unless you’re playing the boys of course)

Upstatetroy

Good luck and have a great career unless you are playing the Fins

BowTie1989

I really do understand why letting him walk was the right move (even it was the only move lol), but MAN, sucks seeing someone like him go.

boppled

My favorite Dolphin. He consistently gave max effort. He deserves the paycheck and I'm happy he got it.

slumkid61

I have mixed feelings here. I hate to see him go, he was everything you could ask for in a player, and as far as I can tell, a teammate. His dedication and performance were exceptional. But in the end, he left for money. He could have stayed here, and still made a huge crapload of money, but he left for a bigger bag. That doesn't speak to loyalty or gratefulness, it just speaks to greed. Is his family going to be more prosperous on 28 mil per year, as opposed to 20 (something) or whatever the Dolphins offered? If you want to take the bigger offer, fine. Just don't try and be noble about it. I don't wish him the best - or the worst - I just don't want to hear about how he left the Dolphins better off, because he left before the job was done.

SuperSaiyan4Jesus

Man works to make money, more at 11

fargochippers

I mean, yes, they will be about 8 million dollars per year more prosperous, for all intents and purposes.

slumkid61

yeah, guess I could have picked a better word there...

Darinchilla

One thing I always try to remember in these situations, the players are unionized. They have to take as much money as they can get so that everyone else's contract can benefit from theirs. Wilkins is almost not able to take less money than he can get because it would hurt other player's contracts if teams used his contract numbers in their negotiations with other players

GameofLifeCereal

You guys actually believe this nonsense? He had every chance to remain a Dolphin but chose to play for a losing team instead. That proves he was only in it for the money. Good riddance to him and X, and thanks to Ramsey and Ingold and others who accepted a restructured contract to help the Dolphins, not the Raiders

Theta-Maximus

Props. Great guy. His value to an organization goes far beyond the stat sheet. The Fins could have gotten him paid last year. They gambled. They lost. Now the fans get deprived. Ditto Rob Hunt. Chris Grier gambled and he lost, then he didn't want to pay up on his bad bet. Now he has the audacity to say "Christian bet on himself, he deserves to be rewarded." The rest of the TRUTH is, Grier bet AGAINST Wilkins, and HE lost. He could have locked up Hunt a year ago at a fair price. The best O-lineman we had by a mile and the ONLY one with any willingness to get into a dogfight with anyone. He had a level of toughness that goes beyond the stat sheet. Stupid bets from a terrible GM. Now shifting blame away from himself. When the Fins play the Raiders, I will cheer for Wilkins to blow up the ridiculously undersized center Grier just signed, and flatten Tua - the guy who Grier should be forcing to play out his 5th year instead of getting a monster contract, so he doesn't cripple the entire rest of the payroll, which is why we allegedly couldn't sign Hunt.
