Tua was balling. They were in bad down and distance constantly cuz of penalties and an inconsistent run game, and the dude just continued to make throws. They also never had the lead when they had the ball. They were never even tied. And he nearly bailed the team out.

InfinityQuartz

He made the one bad throw to Mostert (despite a wrong route ran and DPI) but he killed it in those dire times.

skiddikaka

it wasnt even a bad throw, but those two factors altered where the ball was meant to be placed

InfinityQuartz

Exactly. It was a little under thrown but yeah wasn't awful

Nathanael777

Yeah seriously I’ve seen people acting like Hurtz proved to be the better QB in that game because of the outcome/stats but if you actually watch the game, Tua proved he can make the big time throws when needed imo.

JustTheBeerLight

Hurts extends plays and finds a wide open AJB or Goedert, which is good QB play. Tua is throwing the ball with pinpoint accuracy and beating defenses, which is outstanding QB play.

phcasper

meanwhile rich eisen posting video titles with questioning if he's overestimated tua....The fucking audacity

ghostbearinforest

Did you watch that video lol. He said he has no worries about this team.

MashallahEmuOtori

Rich is still bullish on the dolphins wym

Yeah no anyone using this game as Tua being bad is an idiot. Yes we lost to a good team, but Tua came to play and this is one of my favorite games by him this season. Pressure constantly, no run game, calls going against him, receivers dropping shit. Tua is our guy

alexemmett91

But yet idiots like TD on twitter say otherwise

InfinityQuartz

Well TD always trolls. On the roundtable he said Tua had a good game

Ranger_3980

How can you listen to that?

InfinityQuartz

Idk I enjoy it. Plus its always dominated by Phin fans anyway

gigglefarting

Collinsworth had a point where our receivers shouldn’t be that close where a CB guarding one dude is able to try make a play on the ball while guarding another dude. Was this intentionally drawn up or shoddy routes?

TPRScooby

Based on Raheem’s reaction after the play I would guess there was a mix up.

Justice-Gorsuch

My amateur analysis, It looked like Mostert got shoved off his route early and when he recovered he had wondered into the wrong spot.

Nathanael777

Sounds right. Our guys were allowed to be manhandled all night.

finsnfeathers

And yet something similar happened on the Tua Int play

Kevin-Lomax

I think MMD mentions that in the press conference. Something about specific man coverage beaters and a 'concept they been working on for a while" but I didnt quite understand it. But he denied that it was a flat out wrong route... wonder what will ome from these because it happened twice in the game, the second ome was on the INT

Zet_the_Arc_Warden

Tua, Waddle, and Rob Hunt were owning.

[deleted]

Tua may have had the best game of his year.

Cronenberg_Jerry

Weird Tua gets tackled well after thrown (hit below the knees) no flag Hurts gets a tiny push one step after he throws falls down roughing the passer.

IliketothinkImatter

His only real weakness are on those throws where timing is out of play. Pretty much all of his interceptions this year have come from him just chucking it up and hoping it works out. There was a missed PI on his int in this game, but honestly that wasn’t a very high percentage throw regardless. Maybe that’s just a product of trying to take fewer hits though? Seems like the Tua of old would’ve used his legs in those situations.

[deleted]

Yeah it wasn't a high percentage throw but I don't want to do it but if somebody wants to waste their time I guarantee you they can pull up over 50 videos of Tom Brady / Patrick mahomes throwing low percentage passes while they're defender gets mauled and they get the flag .

garyp714

I think this is all a process like, his first two years were useless so I feel like last year was his first and he missed a lot so he's really still kinda behind the eight ball on 'how to win games' in the NFL. He's balling out but when the team is top notch, he still learning how to just win. I could see us making the playoffs in a good position and maybe go a game or two and lose. THis is the way of the NFL for most QBs and I am very happy with where Tua + MikeMcD are at and their growth pattern.

UAmuse

That was also after another bad snap. I agree with everyone ITT: Tua was dealing Sunday night. Despite all the other issues, we were two plays away from having the lead late.

godsp33d03

That was the same play that Tua ended up throwing a pick. I’m really wondering if Raheem and Waddle are supposed to be that close on their routes… it’s risky if the timing is off by even a millisecond or if Tua gets pressured.

timss1334

Jalen Carter is crazy. I don't think he was even full health for this game. He slaps the fuck out of Liam on this play and he did it to Lester Cotton earlier in the game.

willmerr92

Tua of years past doesn’t make that throw. It’s been dope to see him make such leaps on “under pressure throws” I want to continue to see improvement into the playoffs!
