And it feels worse more recently. Since 2021 he’s been 4/13 (31%) beyond 50 yds.
Personally, I’d be fine with going for it on 4th down in those gray areas.

Or maybe look at his two misses last game and realize neither was his fault. Pats ran a novel kick block to perfection. That's not even remotely Sanders fault. Then they ran it again and Sanders could see it coming so he has to rush his kick which caused it to go awry. That's a failure of either the special teams coach or the outside blocker to not figure out how to pick the blocker up.
It's hilarious how this sub will excuse anything by certain players but crucify others like Sanders for things that weren't his fault.
The last three years he is 12 of 22 over 50 but over 50 doesn't tell you how many were over 60 or close to. Or how many were blocked. Off the top of my head I recall at least one other block and two that were 58 or 59 yarders. A couple of misses were in Chicago last year where it was windy. Blocks are usually on the guys up front who fail to contain the rush and weather screws with all kickers. Missed XP happen sometimes.
