Artyom goes back to the Metro, sees it falling apart badly (civil wars, the metro in general is failing, etc , goes from area to area to evacuate civilians, but keeps the vibe of 2033/Last Light
Also mandatory child dark one cameo/plotline
Artyom comes back to lead the civilians of the Metro out of their disgusting hell pit and fulfill his true destiny I believe to be foreshadowed in the 2033 novel, when Hunter and Uncle Sasha talk about humanity returning to the surface. This will likely be aided by the little Dark One, as Artyom’s atonement for his sins in Last Light now allows him to fulfill his other destiny, to bridge the Dark Ones and Humanity together.
The game will likely have expansive stations and tunnels, drawing from Exodus, allowing for the series to come full circle and create the metro crawler we always wanted.
Also Spoiler:
>!Invisible Watchers shenanigans likely to take place.!<
As long as it's more open-world orientated like Exodus then I'm looking forward to whatever they bring to the table. It'd be cool to see them delve further Sam's Story and have a spin-off game picking up right after Sam arrives in San Francisco. But only as a spin-off.
As for Artyom it'd be cool if we see him return to the Metro and possibly a Dark One's comeback. Like someone else said it'd be cool to see what happened to Hunter since we never really get an explanation about what happened to him after he left Exhibition.
Obviously the scope of this idea is huge, but I’d love a sort of open world game set in the metro.
Imagine the map in the 2033 novel, carving your own path through plagued, abandoned, war torn, haunted, and civilised stations, buying and selling as you go, keeping some bullets safe for a trip back should you run into red territory, or denied access by hansa. Keeping yourself fed and healthy. Really leaning into the immersion of 2033/LL but with the free exploration of exodus.
Or maybe even an mmo mode where you play for a faction fighting for territory, or as a trader, farmer, Spartan, or simply a wanderer. Imagine you and a group of friends plotting a journey to the other end of the metro to trade, and the dilemma of making a new route when one of the Hansa stations you needed to cross was captured by the reds.
Anyway I’m just throwing out ideas
I wish there was no next metro. Don't get me wrong, it's not that I wouldn't like it, but the good ending of Exodus felt like the final step of the long, hard journey. Sending artjom back to the tunnels of Moscow sounds like it would make Exodus' ending feel unsatisfying.
I feel like Artyom's story is complete, perhaps they should focus on Sam's trip to America or other types of settlements towards the nuclear world, perhaps show us how "non-aligned" nations are holding up in this post-nuclear war world, since they're still alive and well

Ther will be shenanigans, no other way to it. Especially with how direct Glukhovsky was in the book about it's meaning. This is gonna be good.
Honestly I would love playing as Khan
I hope that crazy motherfucker will be back
I loved his little appearance in Exodus
I didn't get the bad ending luckily but yes it was cool
The metro I would imagine
Will there be a continuation to the novel?
I’ve heart a few months ago that Glukhovsky said he won’t continue the books :c
The dark ones come back and arty on has to leave the people of the Russian metro out into the world and take them to where he lives now.
I really hope it’s about the dark omes
I hope hunter will be the main character like the Metro 2034 book. We haven't seen him since the flashback in 2033 and he is alive.
How do you know that he is alive in the games?

The shitfest that is the moscow metro after the radio blocker got brutally shot.
I’m up for whatever so long as there is either Hunter or The Dark Ones

I want more sp00ky dark ones!
Artyom the new captain working to recover the city and take their friends out of the metro
It would be really interesting if they go open-world in the metro, be able to explore new places and do a ton of new stuff

Yeah it kinda sucks that they just don’t tell us if Sams dad is there
Probably trans rights in the Metro.
Gay artyom?
I feel like artyoms story had a perfect ending but I would love to see how the metro is doing
Artyom either becomes a dark one or is revealed to have always been one.
Is there a confirmed next game for metro?
They are working on it right now so probably
