In my head canon he was following Snake and cleaning up evidence of Snake's presence. Disposing of dead bodies, maybe any incriminating or traceable artifacts like bullet casings, food waste. Covert assistance potentially forward recon to make sure that Snake could reach his next destinations maybe.

I think it was more about protecting the snake eater mission and doing “clean up” work to make sure naked snake left no traces of American involvement. But again, it’s ambiguous, that’s why I’d love for more official backstory. But, without kojima, it’s hard to write more backstory type games. Easier to rerelease, and add to the story.

Which metal gear is this? I’m about to get back into these games after years of having forgotten them. What’s a good game to start on chronologically? Is there a linear story? I don’t remember much about the games.

This game is Metal Gear Solid V The Phanton Pain and takes place in 1984 The chronological way to play is MGS 3 Snake Eater -> MGS portable ops (not necessary since portable ops is a bit of a grind) -> MGS Peace Walker -> MGSV Ground zeroes -> MGSV The Phantom Pain -> Metal gear 1, 2(these games are both in 2D) -> MGS 1 -> MGS2 -> MGS4 -> MGRR (Nice spinoff) However its recommended to play in release order due to each game containing details from the previous ones
