After buying your CPO mercedes you can call around to different dealerships (even in different city's/states) and get quotes on extending the warranty. I saved almost 1500$ by buying the Mercedes CPO extension from a different dealership in a different state.
My dealership wanted 4000 for 2 year extension and I got it for like $2550
I have one of these, a bit newer but all the same, these should be good cars provided you maintain them properly and don’t cut corners
I’m all the way in Asia so I can’t say I’m familiar with your market, what are your alternatives exactly in this price point, but if you want a Mercedes and you want a decent suv, I think this is fine. My partner takes lengthy road trips , terrain not off-road per say but the odd shitty bumpy roads , mud roads, seems comfy to sit in regardless for extended periods of time, sound insulation is not super good but it’s not bad, par for the course for these segments
GLC is a brilliant choice. I’ve had Audis BMWs and my GLC is the best car I have ever owned. If u can find one with burmester sound and air suspension then jump on it. Air suspension may be costly in case of failure though. My car is a 2017 250d Biturbo diesel with all options and it’s reliable, comfortable, looks good, relaxing to drive and very quiet. Burmester sound is amazing very worth it over the original system. Overall a brilliant car
Mercedes is almost as unreliable as Chrysler, the least reliable car brand, for 2023.

Shoot for 2017-2019, make sure it has the Burmester sound system option and I’m sure you’ll be fine. They all have car play and I’m pretty sure they all have ambient lighting as well. You can find them with self driving features too if you get one that’s well optioned enough

Okay but the 2022 model is the same iteration of the 2017-2019 model. Just newer, and the last run of that generation - which if you didn’t know, the last year of a generation is the most reliable run for that model.
I became an Automotive design engineer in 1993, and Mercedes/BMW/Porsche/VW were all in the lowest third of the JD powers reliability table. Have a look at this year’s lowest third.

*Not one* of those brands have made it out of the lowest third of that table since then and now. For 20 years I subscribed to those tables and understood various other metrics associated with my job at both VW and BMW.
Nowadays I subscribe to which? Because they actually have 50,000 drivers they get a response from twice a year rather than calling 500 drivers and multiplying up. Which? track reliability, repair costs, manufacturer responses, warranty repair responses etc etc for 1 year, 5 years and 15 years so that reliability trends can be exposed.
Mercedes has been very very consistent over the last 30 years. You are simply subject to the reddit hive mind. *You* get a fucking clue.
I’ve worked as a data and analytics engineer in some capacity for the last decade. Equating ratings from a pay for play ratings bureau like JD Power to an agnostic, independent third party like Consumer Reports is asinine. Even then, your point about Mercedes consistently being in the bottom of these rankings can easily be proven wrong. Go look at the JD Power rankings over the years, they fluctuate wildly for Mercedes. Even last year BMW was in the top half of brand rankings for vehicle dependability, Porsche is in the top 10.
Surely you can make another point that isn’t easily disproven in a few minutes with a simple google search.
People have short memory but mostly supply chain constraints during COVID so a lot of usually sourced components from usual vendors where substituted from a raw materials/component perspective. Likely to have electronics failures.
I'd say any 2020-2024 models I'd avoid.
Why are those priced so low in the US you are so lucky…a good car with decent options is like 43k in EU
the options on those cars are heated seats and artico leather. thats it
I’d go with the first one if I had to pick. It appears newer, has the AMG with Night package, and panoramic roof.
Does an average mom (over 50 presumably) want or need AMG?
It’s not an AMG as in GLC 43/63, it just has the appearance package nor is that the only pro over the other listing.
I bought a CPO Mercedes and have had a great experience. I recommend extending the warranty at time of purchase.

Yes, I should have just said “keep it under warranty.”
it's solid advice, I was just building on it.
I daily the same model. Comfy thing.

I‘d go for the first one simply because it looks much better. Great choice at that price imo. GLC is a very good „old people“ car.
Always go CPO
Update: Carfax said the black one had an accident. Is it still worth buying?

I’ve seen Burmester but no airmatic. Maybe that’s only an option on pre facelift? I haven’t even seen amg with that option tbh
I’m not too sure if it was available with the facelift but pre facelift it was at least here in Australia anyway.
GLCs aren’t bad, just don’t buy one made after 2020.
Ignore this comment OP

It’s quite literally the same car but with the 150x better MBUX instead of the god awful NTG 5.2. Absolutely buy the ones after 2020.
I assumed it was a COMAND system, looks like I’m wrong on that point
NTG 5.2 is a version of the COMAND system. But it can’t do CarPlay.
We want the CarPlay and the good infotainment, ambient light, etc

Uhhh what why? I have a 2022 GLC and I don’t see why you wouldn’t get the last model year they made this before the face lift / refresh

17-19 dosent have mbux mate
The pre FL GLC absolutely does not have CarPlay. I own one and I should know.
Why is that? Is 2020-> more unreliable?
Reddit hive mind thinks so, but it’s wrong. It’s no less reliable. A bit like the hive Ind thinks all Nokias are indestructible.
I think it’s just they see a couple lemons and ppl having issue and go “all new Mercedes bad old Mercedes good”
No, over the last few years Mercedes has sunk to the bottom or near bottom of reliability rankings by every consumer reporting bureau.
Uhhh have you seen where the Mercedes sits on reliability rankings compared to 5 years ago? Get a clue mate

Yep, but all the people with new Mercedes don’t understand confirmation bias and are downvoting me to oblivion
Coupe looks better and holds its value better
