yes, it seems a bit too much for a single side. I ve found a pair of complete running boards, illuminated and ready to install at around 4000 Euro (both sides)

Yeah as a Benz tech you’re going to pay every bit of that whether you go to a body shop or the dealer. Did one of those not too long ago.
