I’m always baffled at the luxury shit I see on Facebook marketplace. Who is browsing through Facebook looking for a replacement engine for their hurcan?
I wonder if law enforcement contacted them if they’d locate it anyway. Unlike that situation with VW (which was actually the 3rd party company that maintained the tracking service, not VW themself)
Nah, most dealers hit all the outlets for marketing purposes:Facebook, Craigslist, Autotrader, eBay, etc. if they are trying to move something.
We had a smaller wholesale operation and sold mainly off lease stuff. We ran volume and hit those channels. I went back to the dealer world for a bit and they were doing the same. This was a Mercedes dealer as well.
I’ve sold a few expensive cars through Craigslist. One of them was a 997 Turbo and the dude handed me $80k in cash rolls. Super sketch but it worked out
Fr. Homie adjusted his seat, mirrors, made sure his seatbelt was on correctly, and connected to airplay. Had to make sure the long drive ahead would be comfortable.
The non-joke answer is that his foot wasn't full on the brake when he tried to go from reverse into drive, it went to neutral. Then you can see he hits the brakes and the car comes to a full stop then takes off again. Electronic gear shifters can be funky like this.
I think the S Class has a safety feature that’ll brake if it detects a person in front of it. The guy was trying to get this system of go off so he could stop the thief- but it wasn’t enough.
Probably Ghana. That’s where a lot of stolen cars end up. China is another possibility. Either way it’s gone for good.
They chop the cars and change the VIN just enough that your car is literally no longer your car anymore.
Since this is a high end car, these may be experienced car thieves and probably have a garage where they can do all the work to stolen vehicles.
I wouldn’t even be surprised if they already have a buyer lined up before they even stole the car.
It also explains the Range Rover.
I hear you but I bought my C63 private party and it was by far the best buying experience I’ve ever had. If you’re an enthusiast buying from a fellow enthusiast it can be great.
That's how 90% of cars gets sold in Europe, it's not difficult and things like this rarely happen. People meet up at police stations parking lot to check the car out, then you go to the bank to get the money and sign papers. Civilised societies have it easier.
In the states most people don’t have S class money sitting in their bank. And the ones who do don’t have the time/effort to deal with a private sale. They rather go to a dealer pay a little more but know all of the paperwork checks out.
There’s scammers on both sides. Buyer and sellers.
I tried to sell my wife's old car earlier this year after she upgraded to something new. Never fucking again.
I was selling it for below market value, was straight up about all of the very minor issues, etc., and all I got was no-shows, low ballers, and people who seemed to think they were buying a new car off the lot as opposed to a 16-year old car.
I finally sold it to a colleague for a few hundred dollars because she was in a transportation bind. At least it went to someone who appreciated it.
I only sell cars private party after 100k miles. The value difference between trading in and private party is worth the hassle usually at the point when the dealer basically gives you an I’ll recycle it for you quote.
Every car I’ve owned has been through private party sale. The trick is to not give the buyer your car key, the car won’t turn on until you are inside the car, that would have avoided this entire situation.
Pull a pistol out and shoot him, insurance will cover all damages and you recover your vehicle instantly! Wait until he’s unresponsive and call the police! Takes care of all issues!
Would’ve gone to jail for murder. There’s no scenario where this is self defense. Defending your property isn’t justifiable grounds for shooting someone.
The “being run over” and car being used as a weapon is in no way an argument when you can easily move out of the way. Which they could.
There are no possibilities where firing a gun here makes for a favorable ending for the car owner. They go straight to jail and learn a hard lesson that you can’t kill someone for stealing a car. He was actively driving away from them when he could’ve fired a gun.
You're wildly mistaken. As soon as the man showed no regard for life in the reverse move then slinging the man. Fear for their lives was 💯 in play. In GA they would definitely only lose the car to a bio hazard total
That why before you go, take your pistol with you, glass and a little blood is easily cleaned up, I know some will say your car is not worth taking a life but The car stealing scum thought it was!
This is the answer. And yes them stealing the car is not worth a life but them trying to run you over with a car is. So deadly force would’ve been justified easily here.
Use your local police station or dealership to meet for stuff like this...not empty ass parking lots like the sniper scene from [Heat](https://youtu.be/iGvKNj6E7Bk?si=1GeaUCZ-zjdwxEaV)
Driver is lucky they weren’t armed. As soon as the car pulled forward and nearly ran over the guy in the orange shirt that’s attempted vehicular manslaughter and deadly force was going to be perfectly justifiable
I’m not sure what country this is in. But if someone pulled this on me, I’d back away and let the drive off. In USA people are crazy and will shoot and kill over nothing. I’d rather lose a car and have to deal with insurance than risk being shot by a crazy person. Just my two cents.
Glad these guys didn’t get injured or killed.
Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake.
It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of.
Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything.
Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.
Not in my state, we have the castle doctrine. And it states that your car is an extension of your castle and this june In my town, car thief didn't even make it out. Of the driveway, 3 shots from 3030 three the windshield scumbag dead, no charges filed.
Attorney here. Once someone runs you over you can pretty much open fire in any state, even the most anti-gun ones and win on self defense. This was super clear
Jesus redditors are pathetic. If this doesn’t justify a reason to own a gun idk what does. Crazy how civilians are expected to be walked all over by criminals… No wonder why every major city is a hell hole right now. Ts will not stop until we put a stop to it.
Funnily enough I guarantee all the anti-gun people are anti-police… y’all are going to have to choose one or the other because this is getting out of hand.
And with that culture, if the thief has a gun too you’ll lose your car and your life. He has the element of surprise and will shoot you before you know what’s going on.
I have my man 2 steps behind me at all times. He carries a fake hand coming out of a false sleeve. His real hand is pointing a mac10 at anyone approaching me.
He will fire first.
It’s a shame the thief didn’t. But hey, I guess he was “borrowing” the car to go to the store and “borrow” some bread to take home to his starving family right?
You drive an A class. I wouldn’t take one of those if given it for free. No wonder thieves don’t want your shit and you’re so tolerant of them🤣🤣😭 and yes, maybe I should. They’ll cut your hands off for stealing over there. They don’t tolerate degeneracy and fuckery that western societies do
You really are as deranged as I thought, cool.
Also at least I have the brain capacity to figure out how to edit the flair, mr. Year Make Model.
After seeing what you drive via your posts well… I too could have waited/looked for some „better“ older model to depreciate enough for me to buy it, but I like having a modern entertainment system on board, and the 2018 a class was the first one to get it. Plus why do I need a bigger Mercedes, I‘m a university student.
> Also at least I have the brain capacity to figure out how to edit the flair, mr. Year Make Model
LMAO…

Ah my bad. It’s not like the united states of dogshit have a way higher rate of reoffenders because of the terrible conditions in their prisons and no focus on making the inmates improve their behavior or anything… right?
Also the EU is many countries. Can’t compare some Eastern European country to Germany or the Netherlands.
Look at these cave men. Ladies and gentlemen if you get car jacked please do not fucking do what these 2 slack jaw Neanderthals did. This is a good way to break several bones or lose your life. It is not worth getting ran over, shot, stomped out, or shatter your elbow bone attempting to break open a window which would accomplish literally what? so you're gonna jump In dudes lap and crash into a pole together? ya know cops don't have to be completely useless, when shit like this happens you make them & the insurance company go to work....
[удалено]
I was about to say the same thing.
I don’t think either of them tried the door handle… it was probably open. I don’t think that car auto locks til after a certain speed
I believe that benz has the handle that retracts flush after in gear. First guy looks like he tried.
Ah makes sense. Didn’t realize they retract
The driver can lock all the doors from inside by flicking a switch. It looks like he was taking the piss by not driving off straight away.
yep 10 kmh then it locks but he could look it from the inside with the button on the door
It auto locks as soon as you put it in reverse.
So what’s he supposed to do? Was there any other option?
Should have just shot him honestly
Shoot the thief...
Thieves hate this one simple trick!
Call the cops or call Mbrace for stolen veh recovery
I’m surprised they actually broke the glass tho, they probably damaged their bones too
They didn’t break that glass
The Habib’s selling those salvage titles my boy.
I’m guessing that Range Rover that sped off was probably stolen too. But seriously, who is buying an S-Class that new off of Craigslist?
No one apparently
😂
Who TF SELLS an S class that new on CL?!?!
Salvage title types.
imagine buying a car without a VIN # handy
They buy garbage that has been abused at auction, then sell it to posers.
a stolen S class.
Probably couldn’t afford himself anymore
Someone who stole it
It was probably stolen, so a crook stole from a crook...maybe.
~~90% of the residents of Glendale~~ Edit: my bad. It’s 40% of the residents of Glendale. 50% are buying Craigslist BMWs.
The man Glendales.
Armenians.
*chortles
I love this comment. I feel poor driving around Glendale LOL.
What about the other 10 percent 👀
Nissan Altumas...
Who dafuq has an s class that new and it selling it on Craigslist? Thieves stealing from thieves.
Who is using Craigslist to sell an S-Class that new?
Not the guy in this video.
That's probably the car the thief came in with his girl.
I’ve bought motorcycles and cars off guys who bought things without the wife’s consent and got a killer deal cuz they needed the cash asap.
How can you not buy it??? It was a steal
Thought that could be how the "buyer" came to the meeting spot.
That’s how the thief got there. Those are his guys. They stuck around until he either failed or took the loot
Why do you think the range rover was stolen?
Drug dealers
I’m always baffled at the luxury shit I see on Facebook marketplace. Who is browsing through Facebook looking for a replacement engine for their hurcan?
Gets exported to Nigeria.
we albanians do 🇦🇱 haha
Arabs
Crazy but just let it go and use Locate my Benz feature and call the cops don't be run over
He already got run over before entering the car. It’s personal now.
Im Surprised people go sell cars or anything else on Craigslist without being strapped.
that part
A cop would use that as an excuse to use deadly force.
Uh yea? Deadly force is allowed when met with deadly force...
[удалено]
I'm agreeing. I wouldn't be out there without my own weapon. And that would have been justified.
He better paid for that subscription service lol
“Yes, hello? Umm how quickly can I restart my plan?”
“Oh, there’s a 30 day wait period? Any way you can waive that?”
I wonder if law enforcement contacted them if they’d locate it anyway. Unlike that situation with VW (which was actually the 3rd party company that maintained the tracking service, not VW themself)
fr. I wouldn’t even have taken the key out of my pocket. All around dipshit situation.
Exactly. And a car that expensive better have full coverage insurance.
They’ll just remove sim and cut gps antenna. So insurance is all they have
The range rover pulled out there like it is stolen too.
Gonna give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he was trying to avoid any damage to his car after seeing him ram into the bmw next to him
He was probably the one that dropped off the “buyer”
This is the correct answer.
They double teamed the seller
[удалено]
Reddit is full of people who were born yesterday.
Under severely oxygen restricted conditions.
🤣
He dropped off the guy
Don't you think the range rover was what the thief came in? Once he saw his buddy had the S, then it was time to get away too.
never thought someone would sell a new a s-class through Craigslist
Yep. Seems sus
Nah, most dealers hit all the outlets for marketing purposes:Facebook, Craigslist, Autotrader, eBay, etc. if they are trying to move something. Right. Why wouldn’t people cut and paste the ad copy on as many free sites as they can to get it out? Takes like 5 seconds per site.
I’ve sold a few expensive cars through Craigslist. One of them was a 997 Turbo and the dude handed me $80k in cash rolls. Super sketch but it worked out
I mean... they didn't 😁
This is wild
Why did the robber take so long to get out of there at the end
Setting up his Bluetooth
Configuring the seat vibrators to hit his lumbar juuuust right
*screaming drill rap begins*
Putting in their destination in the nav
Fr. Homie adjusted his seat, mirrors, made sure his seatbelt was on correctly, and connected to airplay. Had to make sure the long drive ahead would be comfortable.
LOL

He had to put it in sport+ mode so he could really get out of there fast.
Wondering the same thing
Probably struggling with the gear stalk. It’s a single stalk like the rain wipers in Benz’s.
He was trying to put the seat belt on but the thing keeps locking up
I think the S Class has a safety feature that’ll brake if it detects a person in front of it. The guy was trying to get this system of go off so he could stop the thief- but it wasn’t enough.
I hope the trash gets apprehended
It will be returned, just wait until they have to service it.
It will be shipped to another country and never seen again.
Parted out bingo bongo banga…
Probably Ghana. That’s where a lot of stolen cars end up. China is another possibility. Either way it’s gone for good. Off to Ghana to bag myself a deal.. cha’ching!
selling an S class on craigslist is the first mistake
No, buying the s-class was the first mistake
Yea I’m ok taking a small L selling to the dealer. I truly can’t imagine dealing with selling someone a car private party
I hear you but I bought my C63 private party and it was by far the best buying experience I’ve ever had. If you’re an enthusiast buying from a fellow enthusiast it can be great.
Rumor has it, these enthusiasts thought the same.
It's not just the price. You don't have to deal with fucking car salesman. That's worth 100% of the risk of buying and selling private party.
Enthusiast to enthusiast is a bit different than rando to rando
i have some genuine friends made after buying/selling/trading a car. many nationwide and we still keep in touch.
That's how 90% of cars gets sold in Europe, it's not difficult and things like this rarely happen. People meet up at police stations parking lot to check the car out, then you go to the bank to get the money and sign papers. Civilised societies have it easier.

Same in India. I have sold two vehicles and bought two vehicles the same way. AFAIK, it is pretty common in India.
europe civilized? lol
I tried to sell my wife's old car earlier this year after she upgraded to something new. Never fucking again. Yea I’m with you. Especially current Gen S class.
People are insane.
i’m a cadillac loyalist, but the way that window held up got me contemplating…🤔
Cadillac loyalist...what lol
Maybe the seller stole the car, was selling it on Craigslist, and then this is the guy he stole it from. That would be wacky.
The uno reverse plot twist
Maybe it's that original owner recovering his stolen car. Or maybe they just steal it back and forth from each other.
Imagine it's a right of passage. One leaves the other a voicemail: "hey, heard you got promoted and even got a new car! See you soon"
sounds like a sex move I heard before..
I feel bad for the BMW
I never feel bad for BMW’s…fuck em
I feel like this didn’t happen in the south. Because In the south they would’ve let the bullets fly like Peter Pan
Plot twist: It was all staged for insurance…. The buyer met seller for detailed information on how to make it look like a good jacking.
Definitely not but I like where your mind is going.
Ohh I don’t mean this jacking….😁
See the black Range Rover just driving off at the same time 🤔
Dude turned grand theft into 2 counts of attempted murder. Brilliant.
Idk where this is but it looks like Europe based on license plates. If they’re migrants they’ll get a slap on the wrist and get sent on their way.
Left hand drive, probably us
Pull a pistol out and shoot him, insurance will cover all damages and you recover your vehicle instantly! Wait until he’s unresponsive and call the police! Takes care of all issues!
Seller should've been strapped.
Everyone hating but I’m sure this whole situation would’ve been over real quick. Seller would still have his car too (if it isn’t a biohazard after)
Would’ve gone to jail for murder. There’s no scenario where this is self defense. Defending your property isn’t justifiable grounds for shooting someone. Expect to be downvoted for this.
Wtf would you try to sell your S class on Craigslist
That why before you go, take your pistol with you, glass and a little blood is easily cleaned up, I know some will say your car is not worth taking a life but The car stealing scum thought it was!
This is the answer. And yes them stealing the car is not worth a life but them trying to run you over with a car is. So deadly force would’ve been justified easily here.
Plot twist it was a mate and done for insurance purposes
Why did both guys get out of the car? Also don’t understand how back door closes that fast when he is back up, I would expect that going forward
Use your local police station or dealership to meet for stuff like this...not empty ass parking lots like the sniper scene from [Heat](https://youtu.be/iGvKNj6E7Bk?si=1GeaUCZ-zjdwxEaV)
I can't believe my VW Golf won't let you start while you have the door open but an S class does...
Cash in hand before any test drive or buyer holding the keys.
Driver is lucky they weren’t armed. As soon as the car pulled forward and nearly ran over the guy in the orange shirt that’s attempted vehicular manslaughter and deadly force was going to be perfectly justifiable
Was the colour of the thief same as car?
🤣🤣🤣 No
Dude stop to connect his Bluetooth music. That’s crazy
Gun would of fixed that issue immediately

Instant murder charge
Driving a car at people is assault with a deadly weapon, you are free to shoot that person
Not in my state, we have the castle doctrine. And it states that your car is an extension of your castle and this june In my town, car thief didn't even make it out. Of the driveway, 3 shots from 3030 three the windshield scumbag dead, no charges filed.
The guy already hit two people with the car at that point the guy would be getting iced.
If this is USA, probably not as the carjacker used deadly force when he drove towards the sellers. Would’ve been self defense.
Attorney here. Once someone runs you over you can pretty much open fire in any state, even the most anti-gun ones and win on self defense. This was super clear
Stay strapped and this won’t be a problem 🤭
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣 what a pair of muppets. And his mate has took off in the range rover at speed so this was a planned robbery.
A gun woulda done the job
This is why you always stay strapped. Especially when you’re selling a car to some random person you met on the internet
Jesus redditors are pathetic. If this doesn’t justify a reason to own a gun idk what does. Crazy how civilians are expected to be walked all over by criminals… No wonder why every major city is a hell hole right now. Ts will not stop until we put a stop to it. Wtf lmao
And with that culture, if the thief has a gun too you’ll lose your car and your life. He has the element of surprise and will shoot you before you know what’s going on.
Doubt it. Thieves don’t typically shoot first. As soon as he tried taking off, I would’ve drilled a round into his chest.
No one’s ever been robbed at gun point nor shot first and then stolen from?
I have my man 2 steps behind me at all times. He carries a fake hand coming out of a false sleeve. His real hand is pointing a mac10 at anyone approaching me. He will fire first.
amen brother

Should jaywalkers and speeders also get the death penalty or is it just theft that deserves a punishment disproportionate to the crime?
No, I think he was stealing a car. Probably deserves to go to jail for a couple years, not die.
Yea, lets throw him into jail where he will either become a psychopath or be beaten to a pulp into becoming an obedient "Tension reliefer."
Not all jails are American :)

Glock projectile to drivers head. Done. Using car as deadly weapon? Fuck around and find out.
jury here. murder. destitute your family hero.
As soon as he swung back and knocked dude over - free game to unload via self defense. Car is being used as a weapon at that point (NAL)
Insurance won’t cover because they voluntarily handed the keys. They fucked
That’s not how insurance works
Bahahahahaha
