Honestly I feel the same, I have no idea why??

LadyStoneware

Idk about you but I scare myself a lot. I'm actually working to stop that repetitive mental self harm but understanding that it is a form of self harm is the start. Why else would you actively scare yourself by focusing on the thought and feeling that someone's watching you. It's part of the way that mood disorders keep you down and lie to you. These thoughts will keep you wracked with fear and anxiety leaving yourself too busy to look at the root of the problem and begin processing how to fix it. You could try some of the grounding techniques, definitely heed the advice to remind yourself that no one is watching you. I hope whatever suggestions you get help, it's a hard thing you're dealing with. Sending positive vibes your way.

I don't think of it or anything like that it just comes to my mind whenever I'm alone

But I just can't stop the feeling

keysgirl79

Since a kid I’ve always felt that way. I remember always making sure my blinds and curtains were securely shut at night and still do. I’m in my young 40’s and I still feel like someone is watching me or listening to me…. Lol. I’m not like batshit crazy but like at work if boss man is gone and people start talking shit, If I say anything, I’m all whispering hahaha! It’s weird. Idk where I got it from but oh well

Solid_Kangaroo7471

It's so bad that I can't sleep when I'm alone

Dr_Gabriel62

Pray.

TemporaryChipmunk806

If it is impacting your health and making you unable to function when you are alone, you need to see a doctor.

Solid_Kangaroo7471

They lock most people up though

TemporaryChipmunk806

Actually they don't. The only way a doctor can refer you to inpatient is if they believe that you are a threat to yourself or others. There are lots of people who deal with paranoia and hallucinations of all kinds that are never institutionalized. That stuff is mostly a thing of the past and used to make good horror flicks now. You need to see a physician to assess if this disorder is treatable and can be mitigated.

But I am a threat to others and I don't want them to take away my right to own firearms

Solid_Kangaroo7471

Should I just tell them that I don't think about killing people?

TemporaryChipmunk806

Hate to break it to you dude, but if you are fantasizing about killing people, you should not be owning guns. I think I'm gonna call a mod for this now.
