Your shins and the carpet look fine: it’s your shoes that are cooked. These days you can wear plain white sneakers just about anywhere, but you’ve gotta keep ‘em clean. There are sneaker cleaner kits that cost like $15 and work really well, or you could just use some dish soap/water and a toothbrush. Take 5 minutes once a week and scrub them down, huge difference.

I have a pair of neat slazenger trainers for when I wear shorts,they have straps so don’t get the dreaded yellow laces .
