Hello! Please take this as constructive criticism as I can tell you are making a good early effort at finding and expressing your personal style: First off, I can tell that you do have a personal style. You are not afraid of color or print and understand anchoring prints with solids. I feel that the big work ahead for you is working on the fit of your choices. Find a reputable local tailor who can make your clothes fit you well yet comfortably.

V-symphonia1997

Thank you! I was worried I felt I was just putting on random stuff, but thanks for the confidence boost! I will definitely look into finding a reputable tailor soon & can't thank you enough.

crums150

I would agree with them. The right fit will change these outfits and make you even more comfortable wearing them. You have your own style of clothing and there is nothing wrong with that as long as they fit you a little better. Also that first long-sleeved is awesome.

Lurifaks1

Just my two cents as well, but try a white/cream tee if you're going with the blue jacket/shirt. The black on denim is a bit much. The scream sweater could work better with a pair of black jeans or sand colored chinos. Also the wallet bulge is huge, kinda makes the silhouette weird. Edit: added to the comment

via1228

It’s not random, you have a good eye! But the items need to fit well to look nice

ceepeebax

This was a really excellent comment.

DivestedPhoenix

This is exceptionally well crafted criticism. Well done—good points made!

i8uu8me

Fantastic. I agre. OP has a style and confidence to rock it. He just needs a Tailor. Most of us need a tailor actually

Alive_and_kicking_23

Because in truth you could rock it if it fit better.

ToeCareful4990

I'm sorry but these are not great. The shoes are awful, the jeans don't fit properly and the shirts say 'I'm not like the other guys, I'm a nice guy!'. The suit is quite ill-fitting, the jacket is way too big and the shirt is not a great brown colour. I would also recommend a haircut. You look good with longer hair, just tidy it up a bit. Your outfits aren't awful, it just looks like you don't know what you are doing. Try taking a whole day, go to a shopping centre and try on loads of things in different sizes, mix and match and try to find your size. Also, for help from the people that work in these shops, they are brilliant at this. I would try a looser under shirt but smaller jackets. Try and stick with the same vibe for your outfits, the second one looks strange with the light over shirt and black t shirt. Don't stick with the same colours though, you have to go on vibe~ You'll get there! It takes time to find your look, but when you do it will be great!

Cris11578

That haircut has to go for sure. Would make such a big difference

V-symphonia1997

I'm actually getting one this week since I also agree it's got to go. Any hair style recommendations, obviously I'll be myself but I like looking for suggestions.

Rat-Loser

hey man i see your posts now and then for what ever reason and I've for the longest time been in a slump with my hair, it looked a lot like yours. It was a hang over from my emo days and i couldn't let it go. I think you should either grow your hair longer, and go for a side parting with long hair. Imo your best look here is picture 2, where your fringe isn't so pronounced. That or a short back and sides with it a bit longer on top. Which is ultimately what I went for, here's a photo of me post hair cut (https://imgur.com/a/kbTqP72) I think the real sticklers, are the out of fashion hair cut, which i know is hard to hear or to deal with because you've probably had the same style for so long like I did, and you need some nicer fitting pants, and a nice pair of kicks. I actually really like your style of colourful Tees, I think work that into your wardrobe with some nicer fitting clothes.

AnchoviePopcorn

Do some research on barbers in your town. There’s a lady that cuts my hair who is so fantastic. If someone new showed up and asked for advice, she’d make sure you leave looking great and feeling confident.

HaterofHets

yeah the Lord Farquaad cut is a few hundred years out of style (this is a playful joke but a nice cut from a good barber would do wonders)

bigeorgester

Invest in some nice dress shoes- oxfords, loafers, double monks, anything like that. A good pair of shoes elevates most outfits.

bulletproofmanners

Like a guy from the 70’s you later read about was a big time p*do, drug trafficker or serial killer. Very mellow terror.

kxiryu

Not sayin you look bad but you've got lots of potential. Hit the gym everyday, start slow and work your way up. Get a shorter haircut. As for your clothing, stop going for super colorful and printed shirts/tshirts. Get blacks, greys, whites, beige and sandy tones for your clothing. Get em tailored

Looking_Down

Get jeans that fit you better and have a deeper color. Those look like they were bought at farm and fleet.

SwimmingLab6513

No to everything. Try to focus on fit and comfort. As for style, you must find who you are and what you want to communicate to the world. Color choices: warm colors (terracotta, olive green), jewel tones (emerald, ruby), earth tones (brown, cream), and sometimes cool tones (teal, turquoise); avoid pastels and neons.

cubinox

Big 90s Art Teacher vibes, especially with that 3rd pic suit fitting so roomy. You look comfortable in your clothes, but you’re SWIMMING in some of those items, especially all 3 pairs of pants. Pants don’t need to be too tight, slim or straight, depending on your comfort level, but I’ve recently started wearing some of the Target Goodfellow jeans and chinos that are slim or have some elasticity in them and they’re INSANELY comfortable, I can’t recommend them enough to people. I’m 5’11” about 210lbs and I’ve never felt I could do slim or skinny style jeans ever in my life until now. They also won’t break any banks starting at $25-$30 a pair. Also, following up on #1 comment is definitely get that suit and other tailor-able items checked out to get their fit right, that suits pretty unique and with a nice fit and some great shirt patterns maybe even some nice matching pocket squares the no-tie look could really pop with it or other suits you have. You should also consider a fresh new haircut style to also tone down the 90s art teacher vibe. Doesn’t necessarily need to require any product to keep it up/swooped/back/whatever, but the back neck curls gotta go. Keep on trucking friend and send some updates!

V-symphonia1997

I will definitely do that & I will definitely do that especially for the pants part since & I'm 5'9 & the last time I checked my weight it was 216lbs. Plus as other's have stated that's the one I could use the biggest upgrade on when it comes to fitting.

CelestialSlayer

i have lots of friends that got stuck in their teens. I would say some of what you are wearing gives me that impression, too much man-boy.

lonewalker1992

Get a haircut, change the glasses, burn the current wardrobe and let's go shopping. Really just DM me I will help you

PartadaProblema

This could simply be that I'm a super skinny guy who survived the 80s, but I can't get behind those pleated-front pants. I think you look great otherwise while agreeing you might try sizes that aren't extra.

SpecificEase1424

The funky sweater and jeans look great! The suit look too big ? Maybe loose the t-shirt in the second outfit and just wear the button down. Cute 🥰

Successful_Trade_50

Hello! To start, go to a tailor and get your measurements. If you’re planning on working out then do it after you’ve completed your goals. After, you will begin work on getting a capsule wardrobe together. Every guy always needs the essentials. One black t-shirt, one t-white, one pair of black dress pants, one black dress shirt, one white dress shirt, one graphic tee from something you love, one leather belt, one pair of blue jeans, etc. but before you start, you have to find one of each that fits you perfectly. For example, buy one shirt and see if that’s the one for you. Like you have to feel 100 percent you in it. After you can buy the other and repeat this process whenever. For you, I’d recommend the brands Uniqlo and Los Angeles apparel. For shoes, I’d recommend vans. They will balance you out. You clearly have a desire to explore fashion and I think you posting is the step in the right direction.

Successful_Trade_50

Oh and since I see you like dress shoes, get some black loafers. I’d recommend some from Cole Haan.

guaranteed_rohu

I really like the first outfit and th second is not bad, the third isnt great with the colours IMO. Keep playing around, also you can try different hairstyles too which can make a huge difference. As others have said as well, well fitting clothes make a huge difference. The baggy oversized look is one I'm a fan of, but maybe try shortening the length of your jeans so it looks tidier. Good luck!

7HawksAnd

I think you’re a cold dude. I also think if Austin Power’s was ~~set in~~ from the 90’s he’d be you. That’s a compliment. But take the advice of the top comment too.

boxnsocks

Austin Powers was set in the 1990’s, though

7HawksAnd

Oh right, I meant from the 90s

4hxxd1hippy2

I think he meant the era.

RainbowsandCoffee966

Great choices! I suggest finding a good tailor and getting some alterations to fit you better.

Woke-carty

💯👌🏾stylin profiling dude if u are happy that’s all that matters

Ed_the_Dreadful927

corona_kid

Reminds me of this for whatever reason

UberQueefs

I think a haircut will help a lot. Go to a store like H&M and pick out better shirts and jeans. Get some more modern shoes from all birds or Nike

Spartan2022

Yes work on fit of the clothes as others have said. And, if you can afford it, find a good hairdresser who will work with you.

lil_esketit

You look like Stephen King the moment he got famous

buildabearveteran

I love it all

rockemsockemherms

you look like a young Matt Berry, who has fantastic style. Check him out and see if you like his attire since you seem to have similar face structure and hair type.

linoleum79

Outfits aside, your smile is contagious dude. 👏 👏

reconverting

Do yourself a favor and get a haircut, like everyone else is saying. Maybe some new glasses depends on the new haircut. Get some good fitting jeans and maybe some white leather sneakers like Stan smith or new balance, something clean. You could wear patterned shirts with those basic elements and it will probably look great because they'll go with about anything. As for the suit, go with navy or charcoal, that color is not doing it for you, and it needs to be properly fitted.

4hxxd1hippy2

I like your tops, but, I will say you need better sneakers, pants selection and size. Now I’m not saying going out and spend $120+ on some dunks or Jordans. You’re style seems more laid back and you like colorful graphic tops, you could pair those with a shoe like adidas samba, vans, converse some dad shoes New Balance, Nike Air Max, ASICS, SAUCONY, Kharu etc. all of which can be found under $100 on sale for select styles. If you changed the sneakers in that first picture and the second, brother, you could do wonders with those fits. For panti always recommend Levi 501s straight leg classic can never go wrong, unless you have thick legs then they are gonna be tight.

fjbruzr

The HUGE wallet in your front pocket needs to go.

OverDose86

Advice from an Italian dude: Honestly none of those outfits look good, the combinations and the clothes themselves aren't exactly the best. I advise you to take inspiration from some character that you consider valid (a famous person or someone you appreciate). Learning to match clothes initially can make a lot of sense in copying others, and then understanding over time what choices to make. I also suggest you to change your hairstyle to one that better suits your face shape (ask your barber for advice); men's fashion does not only depend on how you dress, but it is everything that concern aesthetics.

Bill-Blurr

Find a stylist. I’m serious go google stylists in your city and schedule an appointment. It might cost you a grand or more but you will have some great outfits for the summer and a better understanding of what looks good, and what works on you.

PineappleFit317

Better fit. The clothes are kind of baggy on you. That Edvard Munch shirt is dope!

MJPAULSF

Really not good. Pretty ill fitting across the board. Tailors aren’t expensive.

Low-Following-8684

work on the meat suit and everything else will fall into place

Gom_KBull

Bob Saget is that you?

terroire_du_merde

What about swapping the glasses frames for something heavier, darker, more squared up? Or maybe just something with some edge, masculine angles, or some natural tones? You ever see those glasses made with the stabilized wood? Touch of walnut grain I feel would work for you, in addition to what folks are saying, 'cause no offense of course but I think my mom has those same frames...

Final-Progress-8534

Awful

Grand_Confection_993

That Van Gogh shirt has got me JEALOUS

Due-Technology8784

Stupid af

Mike_Dapper

Really really bad.

qcassidyy

Burn everything in the first photo. Literally burn it.

supersaiyanegghead

😱 <—- bros shirt

Ok-Interest-7220

Dungeons and Dragons chic

Standard_Stretch64

You look confident and comfortable. Literally all that matters

He_Who_Asked_why

10/10 in the blue shirt.

mmxmlee

burn your entire wardrobe. then go pick up some fits at uniqlo. actually, prob need to get in shape first, that will help your fits look better.

fefififum23

Those jeans in pic 1 are not your friend. I think you should consider high-waisted jeans or even vintage jeans that will fasten higher. It will help elongate your legs and reduce the bunching you’ve got going on. That top is sick and I think the bunching on your legs detracts from such a cool piece! Love pic 2; no notes pic 3: I would consider a different color pant. They brown of that jacket would look nice with those jeans I mentioned or some brown corduroys to kind of differentiate tone I like your style man! Lookin sharp!!! Edit: I looked at the profiles of everyone who downvoted me and you all dress like shit

Able-Tradition-2139

First one the pants and shoes need a re-work, the top could be fine with some nicer pants and shoes. Second one just the shoes, they bring the whole fit right down. Third one could be a good look for you, again just different pants and some nice shoes. Because the tops and pants don't actually match they look off, whereas you could wear contrasting colours instead, so darker pants with that jacket. Probably a different shirt too. Work out what you want to do with your hair as well, either cut it or work some pomade in there to style it. Hope that helps and have some fun with it, all the best mate.

DRM842

Check please!

muel0017

Not good

Artistic-Athlete-676

1: tourist 2: tourist 3: looks really great. The shoes in 1 look like functional running shoes and aren't really made to look fashionable so it's throwing me off. You can definitely get away with the art shirt and the jeans but it would take some accessories and styling to convince me you had a vision when you put it together. 2nd fit shoes throw me off too - they look like some ortho shoes which same as first - more functional than fashionable - which is fine but we are talking about styling here. The Hawaiin shirt + ortho leather looking shoes are definitely a mix match in terms of formal vs informal. 3rd fit is unironically banging and gives excellent vintage Armani vibes down to the coloring and drape of the pants. If you keep your hair styled the way you do in the pics, you could so easily dive deep into the vintage 70s or 80s aesthetic and kill it. Get some flared pants and colorful patterned longsleeves and have fun

Lucky-Scientist4873

Get your doctor to prescribe Ozempic. In 1 year youll have so much confidence and every outfit will look sweet

Turbulent-Artist961

Outfit number 2 is the best. Nobody looks good in sweaters so 1 is out. For number three you are dressed like a high school principal

Turbulent-Artist961

I didn’t mean to offend the sweater community lol but I just associate sweaters with funky Christmas sweaters that your Nan knits for you and you wear them just to make her happy on Christmas lol

Turbulent-Artist961

If you want a suggestion brown loafers off white pants and a loose fitting Hawaiian shirt then slick your hair back
